Steven Michael’s Hair Studio has become one of the most popular salons in Canton, MI. Before stylists are hired they must go through an extensive «assistant program» in which they are taught color and design as they work side by side with stylists while undergoing an internship-​like assistant program.

We believe that this program has shaped all of the stylists we have brought up in the salon, turning them into highly trained professionals.

In this profession you never stop learning and training, in order to stay up to date on all of the latest in hair trends one must attend classes regularly.

I’ve been looking for a salon for my specific needs for a while, and this one made the cut… no pun intended.
My stylist was Allie, who was attentive, careful, and asked me what I wanted with every step to make sure she didn’t screw anything up. She did exactly what I asked, and had me check on my hair every once in a while to see what else I might like done.
She was, so far, the best stylist I’ve dealt with. I’ll be going back when I need another trim. If my second appointment is as good as the first, I’ll up my star rating.

Love this salon I always feel pampered with such friendly service!
Their stylist Leslie rocks!!! I took her a photo of the hair color I wanted and she matched it perfectly! She made recommendations to get my hair healthy and gave me a great cut. I highly recommend her!

Gotta be honest. Was very nervous. Just moved to the area. The salon is very nice, clean and up beat. That’s not what I was nervous about. It was someone else coloring my hair other than my usual in FL.
Well, Mikki, was AMAZING. Besides what a wonderful job she did, and I LOVE IT, actually love it more than my girl in FL, but she was a pleasure from start to finish.

I desperately needed a haircut so I Unilocaled it and this place came up. I called and got a same day appointment. When I walked in, I was promptly checked in and my hair stylist, Allie, came and greeted me. She took a good 5 minutes talking to me about what I wanted to do. It was my first time getting short hair so she wanted to make sure she got everything right, which I really really appreciated. I got my hair washed and then cut. She was very nice & talkative & sweet. I really enjoyed my time there. She even gave me styling tips. I’m usually a person who hates my hair no matter what, but after today, I looooove my short hair!!! I will 100% be back to see her and get some summer color!

I was at the hair studio last weekend for a bridal party and I was so please with my hair and makeup! I’m a novice when it comes to makeup and Marisa made me feel so comfortable! While I don’t care much about my makeup, I’m super picky when it comes to my hair and Christina sat with me until I was 100% satisfied. I got compliments all night! What a great experience! :)

Charging me to fix their fault as I didn’t return within 6 days (company policy) to report it. What makes it worse is that I was misinformed about this same policy over the phone. Yes, it was a one-​off incident and may not happen to most people but I wish they would bend rules to fix things.

Very nice! Pleasantly surprised after first time, Durant look like much from outside but very nice inside. Very accommodating, super friendly staff. I’ve been to see Jackie 3x myself now (plus have taken my daughters to her as well) & in love! She’s wonderful!

I went here a few months ago and had a great experience. I had made an appointment but was late. The were still accommodating when I arrived. Andrea was my hair stylist. She didn’t rush me and paid attention to detail. Did everything I asked and was very friendly and even gave me a discount for being a first time customer. I recommend her and that’s saying a lot because only a select few get props from me. Will be back again, not sure if she’ll remember me but tell her Ana sent you. :)

KIM SMITH — Amazingly talented stylist who is an expert in blondes & ombré.
I’ve been going to Kim for 8 years, and have never looked back. Each visit, she made me the blondest I have ever been… until recently I decided to be risky & go dark ombré. While it is exactly what I wanted, looks great & receives a ton of compliments… Nothing will ever compare to her blonde that she is capable of! She is more than a stylist… she is now a family friend, and I’ve referred a handful of important people to her, and so has my sister… the biggest compliment you can give someone is referring your friends & family to them… she is so deserving of all of her loyal clients.
When Kim & her crew did all of the hair & make up for my sister’s wedding, they were so accommodating and friendly and truly made it the experience every girl dreams of but rarely finds.
Another thing that is unique about Kim: she’s more than happy to educate me on techniques & tricks to look & feel salon beautiful every day between visits.
Kim is a gem that my family holds close to our hearts and you’d be lucky to have her skills, knowledge, compassion and hands in your hair.

I had an amazing experience at Steven Michaels. Jessica greeted me at the reception desk and was helpful, telling me my stylist would see me soon. My stylist, Joanna was professional. She took time to communicate with me about my color and haircut. She really listened to what I wanted and helped me make a good selection. She was thorough and did an excellent job. The salon was well maintained and clean. I highly recommend this salon!

Steven Michaels is a fabulous salon! They really listen to what you want while adding in their own advice on what will work! Always wanting to make sure you look and feel your best! Michelle is my stylist and I can’t say enough good things about her! All of the girls that work there are very charismatic and fun! I live in Livonia/​Farmington but I am willing to make the drive for a great haircolor/​cut experience!
