Route 66 Classic Grill

Too much tacky décor, no authentic 50s diner feel to it. The food was flavorless. Nothing special about the menu at all, I had to look at it 3 times to decide what looked worthy of eating. Went with the tri-​tip, the wood fire flavor was there, but they sliced it, THEN PROCEEDED TO COOK IT MORE AND DRY IT OUT! Who the f@@k does that!!! My wife got some taco salad, it looked big but was the same flavor as a taco from Taco Bell. It’s just another example of canyon country being trashy and half assed but getting away with it because there’s nothing else until you get to Valencia.

Went there on Sunday afternoon and the bartender was terrible. He should not even be in this position as his attitude is very poor. And to think that he will be earning $ 15.00 per hr. soon for a terrible attitude! They have changed the quantity on their food items but the price remains the same. Very disappointed in this.
Nice thing is they have outdoor misters which is nice when it is hot. I prefer to go when the Ladies are bartending. Which I will make sure of the next time before I stop by. I have not had a problem with the Ladies and they go out of there way for you!

I love this place. Kinda expensive but great food. Good for lunch when it’s not so packed.

Nice place! Great service! Great food! Nothing bad to say about this. They also have good entertainment, so I hear. Have seen pretty good band there, back in the day, but will have to re-​indulge and check it out again before further commenting on that, but overall a fine experience.

Went here after an early canyon riding. It was a chilly morning, so it was nice enjoy the warmness of this place. Great service, pretty cool and relaxed atmosphere. Here’s what we ordered:
— fish and chips: delicious crispy fries, crunchy fish. It was so nice of them to split our plate for us.
— tuna melt: really good, light onion flavor, evenly melted cheese, delicious warm bites.
— mushroom burger: too much onion, but otherwise it was very juicy, perfectly cooked at medium well.
Cool joint! Not a whole lot of vegetarian or healthy options, but perfect for quick and fast meal choice.

My boyfriend and I checked out this spot while visiting my folks in Canyon Country, and we loved it! True diner style with great service, a fun crowd, and great food! We got lucky and got to see some cool vintage cars in the parking lot while having a beer at the patio. We will definitely be back when we come visit next!

The food here is delicious and the atmosphere is so fun! I love watching the live band and everyone knows everyone there. It’s definitely a cool spot to relax and have a beer! Try the salad with steak on it, it’s so good! You definitely won’t be disappointed if you choose Route 66!

Food is alright here. Classic diner food, however the bar and happy hour are pretty Awesome. The staff is usually friendly and pretty knowledgable about their menu. Owner is really nice! However if you are in the bar during the event you may have to fight your way up to even get a drink. :)

Good looking place with cool stuff all over. Staff was friendly and service very good. Had there cup of chili, very good! Wife had a burger and said it was one of the best she has ever had. Would go back for that soup everyday!

Very surprised walking in here. Didn’t think much of the place as we just moved in around the area and drive by it all the time. decided to finally try it and boy are we glad we did.
It’s so clean and a joy to look at. there’s so many cool old school stuff inside. from classic cars to old signage. love this place!

One thing I can say in this place is hard core 50 – 60’s Americana that decked the walls, floors, tables, chairs and the ceiling! They have a resident yellow chevy inside the restaurant. How many waterhole can beat that? Went there for breakfast and the menu is full of egg dishes, steak and pancakes. No salads or sandwiches to what I remember. I suggest if they can add that in the menu that would be awesome. They have attentive servers that speak experience. The portions are huge. They have endless pancakes in the morning, it smells really good coming out from the kitchen. Based on the menu, their fare has lots of calories. Go there for a special treat but to eat there regularly will get you lots of pounds.

Schoolteacher and I were lounging around on a Sunday morning. She was lazily flipping through her instagram feed, and she spoke up, «Cars and Coffee at Route 66 is going on right now.»
«That sounds like fun, let’s check it out.» I replied.
So we hopped into the car and headed over to the Route 66 Grill for breakfast. When we pulled into the parking lot, there were a handful of classic cars there already. An older fire engine sat parked by itself, and a row of classic 50’s cars sat nearby. I pulled up and parked my own bitchin camaro next to a newer and far more expensive model. We then climbed out of the car and walked up to the patio area. Many of the outside tables were occupied, and many of the unoccupied tables had their chairs still sitting on top of the tables. They must have still been setting up for the day.
We entered through the side door, and walked up to the proper front of the place, where we were greeted and quickly escorted to a table by a hostess. On my way in, I saw the special board had breakfast items, and we were also handed breakfast menus. The breakfast menus was several pages, and all of the items sounded good. But I had my eye on the chocolate pancakes that were up on the special board. We started with coffee while we perused the menu to pin down exactly what we wanted.
When the coffee arrived, I was fairly confused by it. It had several toppings prettily displayed around it. A Cinnamon stick, a pair of creamers, a tub of chocolate chips, and a tub of whipped cream surrounded each cup of coffee. Curious, after dumping the creamers into the cup I dropped the cinnamon stick into the steaming cup of joe. I handed the chocolate chips and whipped cream over to Schoolteacher, who was already gleefully dumping them into her own cup.
We ordered our items, I went with the pancakes, and Schoolteacher went with a breakfast scramble. We drank our coffee and chatted about our upcoming week. Before too long our breakfasts arrived. When they arrived, both looked quite delectable. The pancakes were light, fluffy and chock full of chocolate chips. The small bit of scramble I tasted was also quite good. So, they had some good breakfast food. My cinnamon stick coffee was surprisingly good.
After we ate, we walked back out by the assembled cars. By this point, many of their owners were conversing around them. As I returned to my own car, I noticed a drowsy girl sitting in the passenger side of the newer Z1 Camaro. I guess she also had a big breakfast inside. As we pulled out of the lot, I noticed several of the cars around me doing the same. As I was stopped at a traffic light, a bright red 50’s Chevy and matching Corvette were stopped at the same light to my left. I nodded to the drivers and headed off on my turn.
I had no idea that this place did breakfast. But they do. I’ve enjoyed their burgers and other dinner items in the past, but only now was I aware of their weekend breakfast schedule. They’ve always got stuff going on here, I constantly see various Car & Bike nights as I drive by this place. It’s a great lil restaurant with good food and neat stuff going on around it in the parking lot. I’ll most definitely be back for another car event.

While out for a motorcycle ride we decided to stop here for dinner. Late on a Sunday afternoon the place was not even half full of customers. We seated ourselves on the patio. When our server arrived to take our order I asked how their Margaritas were and she answered with a shrug and a «meh». With that said I ordered bottled Guinnes and was asked if I wanted a glass with it. Um, yes please. I get that this is a casual place but, seriously? There was a woman seated next to us that came in bare footed (filthy feet) and proceeded to suck down a beer out of the bottle (when she didn’t have a cigarette hanging out of her mouth that is), so I guess drinking beer sans glasses isn’t unusual in these parts of beautiful Canyon Country. The beer, to my dismay, was brought to me along with a partially FROSTED glass, which is not how Guinnes should be served.
Can’t comment of the food as the server disappeared, we lost patience, paid the tab and left.

I visited this place this my friends, we ordered steaks they were not salted and too fat, I don’t want come back here again!

For a Saturday afternoon, the place was pretty quiet. We were sat right away and the food came out on a timely manner.
I ordered the chicken fajita salad which was delicious and filling. It had a lot of veggies in it and a good amount of well seasoned chicken breast. My sister ordered a BBQ burger, which had wonderful BBQ sauce, but the patty was a little on the dry side. She had it with a side of steak fries. They were super yummy! They’re lightly seasoned and taste like they have a hint of butter on them. Her entrée also came with onion rings which were pretty okay. My sister also ordered some potato skins that she said she enjoyed.
Now the kicker. THE OREO FREAKIN SHAKE. OMGGG so good!!!
We enjoyed our meals. Standard American diner with pretty good food.

I ordered the Angel Hair pasta with grilled veggies and chicken. I loved it.
The breadsticks that came with it were soft, I personally don’t like the hard crunchy breadsticks.
The service was pretty good, nothing to complain about.
