History

Established in 1862.

As the oldest bar in scenic Capay Valley with a deed dating back to the late 1860’s there’s never a lack of characters here, an interesting place indeed. Wood floors, farming & hunting artifacts in the rafters, and peanut shells on the floor all add to its charm. We’ve gone by many names over the years; Capay Saloon, Capay Country Club and Honkey’s Country Club, but since 1982 we call it home.

For over 30 years we’ve served-​up the whiskey, suds, laughter and fun to all passersby. This is one of those unique places that has entities of its own. ~ Stories of ghostly images whooping it up, bursting through doors horseback or on foot isn’t uncommon here.
