I felt that this place tried to jazz up their cheesesteaks and over do it which is what i don’t like

This place has changed hands 3 times since we started going there. Now it is «Taste of the Town» and doesn’t come close to living up to it previous reputation. It is now operated by someone who is definitely not in the business to make money. The quality is gone and so is the Birch Beer, Tasty Cakes & Herr’s Chips, which were all part of the Philly experience. It seemed more like a daycare than a restuarant and it was heart breaking to realize that yet another one bites the dust in our area! Sad!

Out of business. Moved back to PA. ;(I asked a neighbor and they said the health department shut them down. I say that is BS. They had a great staff and they were very clean. My guess rent was too high.

I like to claim I am a cheessteak connoisseur, however, if you are judging me on my favorite Philly steak… it is NOT Geno’s or Pat’s… I adore Jim’s and La Spadas so you decide. This place came highly recommended as really good philly steaks and when we first arrived, I was immediately called out for being from Philly which made me feel really good about the place. The owner was SO nice and welcoming I felt like I was in PA. I even got to see pictures of his mother’s house near where I went to HS. Ha! Good times. Biggest win at this place, Birch Beer!!! So good, it’s like a low key Dr. Pepper, I hate Dr. Pepper but LOVEBB! They claimed to have amoroso rolls, however, they were extremely soft, it wasn’t a bad thing… just not sure if they were actually amoroso rolls. They did have the blue bag, Herrs chips!!! YUM! I went with a large philly with provolone and fried onions. The meat was chopped very fine, just like I like it, however, there wasn’t much of it. I am used to having my steak overflowing with meat. He did not skimp on the cheese or onions which was a plus. Overall, loved the atmosphere, all decked out in PHL posters and even the daily papers but the food left something to be desired. I wasn’t blown away but I wasn’t unimpressed either, it was just OK. If you are in town, def stop in and check it out but just set your expectations to know it is a cheesesteak in FL.
