Been here for over a year and can’t say enough good stuff about the staff, they have always been helpful with making me feel 100% comfortable with my experience and always polite about when my bill is do. The building is well kept with clean bath rooms, temperature regulated so your items don’t get damaged and cameras on every corner so randoms don’t linger around. Would definitely recommend a friend and stay here to support the local businesses. Chris and Josh are awesome!

I always hate leaving a less than stellar review… but, here goes. You enter this place at your own risk.
When I came in I found it very clean, open, well lit and just a really neat place. They even have some beautiful artwork on the walls. The aisles are named after local places which makes it super cool too. I spoke to a tall curly blond haired lady with a super bubbly personality. She explained all my storage options and the rates as well as specials and perks. Like if you refer someone you get a free month. I ended up referring lots of people. I got 1 month off I am positive. I did secure a unit btw … and everything was super. Easy peazy!
I think came in after more than a month and paid my bill. The lady was a bit quieter this time and seemed less animated and happy? Almost depressed. I am not sure when I did try to pay next, but I came in to set up a new auto pay and the lady (Same one) was super short with me, snapped at me and combative. All I wanted to do was take care of my end. not get treated terrible. She raised her voice a lot and as stressful as that was I also was dealing with some major health issues. I could not deal with her mood swing this day and walked out.
I neglected to follow up after my last experience. Then I call and make arrangements to pay my bill and see about auto pay or close out storage. Its been well over 6 months and I no longer needed storage. I owed at this time for 3 months. With the late fees and charges, I knew it would be a bit high, but I had money and just wanted this stressful event over with. My jobs are often in sales, so I really know customer service and how to talk to people. I figured I would use my sales experience to maybe calm this down since it felt like a personal thing and not a business thing.
I began emailing the manager which is a man. I wanted to know my bill since it had been a while. He helped me know what my options were etc. I went in with money in hand and my bank cards. This next visit would prove to be a total nightmare. The lady (same tall older blonde lady with curly hair) was there and she seemed bent toward me. To the point where she was screaming at me about how much money that people owed them, and showed me a long list of debted accounts. I was really put off by sharing private information and by her shoving paperwork in my face. She then went over my correspondence with the manager and how she knew everything I had said. As if it had anything in it that was offensive or? It made no sense.
I had fully intended to pay, came in apologetic for being irresponsible on my end. I know I avoid potentially stressful interactions and didnt know there was anyone else to talk to previous but she was so mean. She was the only one I had been dealing with and she was now acting totally irrational. She screamed at me in such a way that it made me feel totally unsafe.(She is really tall and I am barely 5 foot.) She yelled at me much worse than the previous time and then refused to take payment. She was losing her marbles and terrified my daughter. So sad to see this happening this way. I had never expected this type of thing to happen in a million years. The lady was soooo different from our first interactions. I left distraught and in tears. Didnt even get to pay as she was not interested in me squaring up my account but in being a tyrant and punishing me for being a burden.
I requested to only deal with the manager, a nice calm professional man. As I began emailing him and so on about what to do and I ended up paying for my account in full and emptied it out with in a day to be done with the place. I believe I was emptied out the first week of December 2014. I was not going to leave a bad review but I felt so much stress and emotional strain from how horribly I was treated. In our correspondence (The male manager and myself) I learned the lady in the office is bipolar and was having some issues. I felt terrible for her situation. However, she abused me. She flew off the handle in such a dramatic way and with other renters there, I was not just embarassed I was so shook up I was throwing up for days. I thought I had the flu but I know it was my nerves were shot.
Anyways, I give 2 stars for the managers efforts. And for him being so kind. But this was one of the single worst experiences with a business I have ever had. I review honestly as I think its good to support local. But people should know what they are getting into. I have dealt with many illness’s and lots of anxiety and depression that was brought on by mentally abusive people. I pray for the lady, but she took out on me her turmoil. The manager knew there were issues and he still left her working alone knowing she was not stable. He even said the owner might want to talk to me. I left this situation feeling it was not fully resolved. The owner never contacted me and I know they record the office. I hope she finds peace.

Far and away the best storage site I have ever used. The staff is friendly & helpful and the premises are clean & secure. I strongly recommend Capitola Self Storage for your short-​term or long-​term storage needs.

Clean, well lit and the signage was super helpful. The ladies in the office were awesome (thank you for the water and lollipop!). True to their word, when a space opened up they called me. Within 48 hours I was «in.»
I am super happy with this place!

The BEST storage experience I’ve ever had, because:
— Facility is clean, secure, well-​lit.
— It also has plenty of parking and is supplied with moving tools (dollies/​carts).
— Every corner of the premises has security cameras.
— The people who work here are professional, helpful and super friendly.
— A little on the pricy side, but you get what you pay for and your stuff will not be stolen.

Pretty much the friendliest people in the world. I stored some stuff here over the summer while i looked for a new place closer to downtown. Every time i came by, they knew my name and checked in with me.
They have options for automatic payments, lots of opportunities for discounts, great prices and there are elevators and dollies provided for your convenience.
If you’re in need of a storage space, just skip the corporations and support these local guys. You won’t regret it!

This is my first Unilocal review, I’ve never been so inspired to leave one.
I had also never used self-​storage before. I did my Unilocal research, called for quotes, and chose this place (we’re in the Santa Cruz area, we’re willing to drive but not over the mountains).
First thing to mention: incredible service. Honest, direct, told me what questions to ask about the competitors, helpful, gave us a free lock, etc.
Other Pros
— Clean, well-​lit, secure facility (felt a little like home…)
— Great range of products
— Competitive price on all ranges of product
— Eco-​friendly
— Locally owned!
The other place that compared on paper was Store More America in capitola. They’re a chain, not locally owned, and I can’t imagine that they would beat Capitola Self-​storage in any way.

I absolutely love this place. The management/​customer service is awesome. Not only was someone able to break the lock on my u-​haul (I lost the key), but the management totally took care of my u-​haul for me! I didn’t have to do a thing. And, the rates are good! This place takes excellent care of its customers. 5 stars all the way.

Hats off to Capitola Self Storage — I have rented storage units for the past several years all over the bay area for business and for personal use and I have never had such a great experience!
I don’t write many reviews, but Josh and Ashleigh are the best and if we were able to give six stars, I would have done so! Brand new state of the art facility which is clean, dry, secure, reasonably priced, and with awesome customer service!
If you need storage in the Santa Cruz /​Capitola /​Soquel /​Aptos area, they are the best!

I have to say that the customer service is super-​great! I feel that if I need help they try to find ways to make it as easy as possible. So glad that out of all the places to store our stuff we found this place!

This is by far the best priced and most wonderful storage company in the greater Santa Cruz area. Not only are the facilities new, secure, and climate controlled, but the staff is very friendly. The whole place has a really nice atmosphere. We got a great deal on a new storage unit and I would recommend this business to all of my friends!
It is located in the same shopping center as Nob Hill, on your immediate left as you drive into the lot.

I just recently rented a storage locker with this company and they are really amazing. Even the movers today couldn’t get over how clean, neat and basically wonderful the environment there is. It is actually really fun to go there! Sounds crazy, I know. The staff are great, the prices are phenomenally low compared to San Jose, etc… and they have a very advanced security system. In addition, a local museum displays lots of old, historic photos of this area which are hung in various parts of the storage facility. Really! You have to see it to believe it. I have had things in storage 8 times in the past 20 years and no place compares to this… on all levels… cleanliness, security, helpful staff. Really a great place to store your stuff.

Capitola Self-​Storage is the paradise of storage places. It’s clean, well-​lit, indoors, secure — and the staff/​owners are very nice. I think the rates are reasonable, too. After reading reviews of other places — complaints of rodents, bugs, water, mold, etc. etc., I was thrilled to find Capitola Self-​Storage. How many establishments send you a hand-​written thank you note for having given them your business? They also have treats for well-​behaved dogs. You’ll be thrilled too.
