History

Established in 1980.

I have been practicing for over 37 years. I chose to be a chiropractor before it was a popular form of health care because I believed that the body has powerful recuperative abilities, which when optimized through spinal adjustments can relieve pain and suffering and allow people to more fully live life. Spinal adjustments have been used safely and effectively by many cultures throughout the world for thousands of years. I do not find more traditional forms of health care using drugs and surgery to be appropriate or effective for most people with spinal related conditions. I dedicate myself to bringing the safest, most effective, and latest advances in chiropractic to my patients. Within this commitment I aim to practice the highest level of chiropractic for the entire family.

My Chiropractic College gave me an excellent education and since graduation I have continued advanced training by attending additional seminars and workshops. After completing a 3-​year Post Graduate Program in Orthopedics, I went on and completed a second Post Graduate Course in Rehabilitation.

So glad I found Dr. Markovitz three years ago! I have always had neck problems. Ever since he started treating me, my regular neck pain and headaches have disappeared almost completely. His adjustments could not be gentler or smarter. I do recommend him to anybody who looks for chiropractic care.

I went in for relief for a sore neck and upper back, only to discover that I had major muscle weakness in my neck causing the pain. After giving me in-​depth muscle testing he gave me a small adjustment that immediately gave me relief. I also went home with some easy exercises to do on a daily basis to build up the muscles in that weak poriton of my neck. PLUS his bedside manner is great, super funny!

i’ve been seeing dr markovitz for a couple of years. excellent work. thorough in the diagnostics. got me on a stretching program that helped alleviate 90% of my pain. along with the adjustments i’ve been able to live quite comfortably.

I went to see Dr. Markovitz, with a variety of maladies. Nothing debilitating, but all together they diminished my quality of life. He addressed all of them and relieved most. I must admit that the rest would probably be ameliorated, if I would keep up with the exercises that he encouraged me to do.

Dr. Markovitz is amazing. He treats the whole body — not just the sore spots. Dr. Markovitz always takes the time to listen to me, figure out the root cause of my issue, and gives me effective, practical tips to maintain his adjustments. He successfully treated my 10-​year-​old son for neck issues stemming from an injury and is currently treating my 12-​year-​old daughter’s back issues. Dr. Markovitz is a tremendous resource for anyone who is coping with back and neck pain, and he is especially valuable for people who want to proactively maintain a healthy lifestyle. I cannot recommend Dr. Markovitz highly enough; to quote another reviewer «he really is that good!»

Wonderful! Dr. Markovitz really listens, is so knowledgeable and doesn’t rush through any appointments. He spends a lot of time in the diagnostic stage to make sure what’s really going on so he can do the proper adjustments. He also taught me very helpful exercises to remedy my alignment issues more longterm. He was recommended by a friend and I am so glad I went! I highly recommend!!!

Harvey Markovitz has been my chiropractor for nearly 25 years. I cannot speak highly enough about him. He has prevented me from having to go through any surgeries due to my chronic back and neck pain and because of him, I have been able to do events, such as the Wharf-​to-​Wharf for the past 20 years. Not only is Dr. Markovitz an excellent chiropractor, he also is quite knowledgeable on nutrition as well. He is able to muscle test high quality herbs when I feel «under the weather» to which I am able to begin taking immediately. I highly recommend Harvey Markovitz to anyone who is looking for chiropractic care.

Dr Harvey Markovitz is a true healer! If you have a shoulder problem he’s your Doctor. I’ve had shoulder pain for nearly 20 years and have tried almost everything without relief until I saw Dr Markovitz? I’ve tied many Chiropractors and only a few have the finesse to adjust you without discomfort. Dr Markovitz is one of them. I highly recommend him.

Dr Markovitz is very professional and caring at the same time. He has so many modalities up his sleeve to treat me. I appreciate how persistent he is in finding the cause and treating that. I’m always amazed how it’s usually some other part of my body that is causing the problem. So many times I have thought, «No way can he fix me this time» and I walk out feeling relieved! Harvey Markovitz is an incredible chiropractor. Prior to going to Harvey, I had little or no faith in the efforts of chiropractic methods. However, after seeing Harvey just a couple times, tingling in my finger tips and pain in my neck went away. Additionally, Harvey taught me exercises to keep them at bay, rather than needing to go back and see him when the pain returns. Harvey’s methods are gentle, but effective, and there is no fear when I go to see him. If you have pain or discomfort, I recommend you see Harvey, as he looks beyond the symptoms to the cause of the problem and works to correct the problem, rather than mask it and alleviate only the symptoms. And on top of his abilities, he is a truly nice, personable guy, who is easy to talk with. I strongly recommend a visit to Harvey. Even if you’re not in pain now, he can teach you ways to stay healthy and pain free!

My back was really hurting and my appointment with Dr. Harvey Markovitz was my first experience with a Chiropractor. Harvey arranged for an X-​Ray and together with his therapy and exercise directions, he kept me out of the emergency room. He helps patients using a variety of methods, some quite high-​tech and he seems to up on all the latest info. His help was completely effective. Very experienced, nice guy.

Harvey takes the time to really look into my complaints and reasons behind the pains, he does not just treat the symptoms but goes into the cause of them to really solve the problem. He is very easy to talk to and I felt very comfortable and confident that I was in good hands when he makes adjustments. Harvey also prescribes exercises to strengthen weak muscles and I have seen huge improvements to my mobility and pain is almost completely gone now! I highly recommend Harvey to my friends.
