HI, thanks for taking the time to check out my page! I specialize in body sugaring, a green alternative to waxing, as well as skin care and makeup artistry.

Most people in the greater Santa Cruz area are unfamiliar with body sugaring, so I’ll give you a quick run down on its benefits over waxing. The sugar product is a paste consisting of only sugar, water, and lemon juice; it is completely natural and compostable. The ‘ball’ method I use for body sugaring eliminates the need for sticks or strips often used with wax, so the gloves I wear are the only waste created from the service. This method is also single serving, meaning that I use only one ball of sugar per client and throw it away. There is no double dipping, thus no risk of cross contamination. Because sugar is natural and contains no resins or preservatives, it is much less irritating than wax. Many say that it hurts significantly less too!

In my treatment room, I use Rhonda Allison and Image products to help my clients combat their skin concerns. I provide skin care treatments ranging from relaxing spa facials, anti-​aging facials, microdermabrasion, acne facials, and chemical peels.

Makeup was my first love, and it’s always so exciting to help clients look and feel their best on a big day– be it their wedding day, prom, a business event or a night out on the town!

History

Established in 2008.

An esthetician since 2007, I received my training at Shoreline School of Cosmetology, here in Santa Cruz. To further my education, I returned to my hometown of Carlsbad, CA for the summer to complete an apprenticeship with my mentor (she was also my esthetician as a teenager– I am so grateful she took me under her wing!). Since then, I have been established in Santa Cruz. In 2008, I completed my body sugaring certification in Los Angeles, and I never looked back to waxing!

Most of my professional years in Santa Cruz were spent at Fusion Salon & Spa, which sadly closed its doors in 2014. My new home is at Rumours Salon & Spa in Capitola, CA. Come check it out!

Originally from Carlsbad, CA (a beach town in north county San Diego), I moved to Santa Cruz in 2001 to attend UC Santa Cruz. I completed a BA in Business Management Economics in 2005, took a break to travel South America for a few months, then returned to Santa Cruz to start beauty school. Despite the Business degree, I never saw myself working a 9 – 5 job behind a desk. Having experienced teen acne and building a close relationship with my previous esthetician (who would later become my mentor), esthetics was something that always interested me. And so began my career as an esthetician…

Almost a decade later, I’m still doing it and still loving it! Santa Cruz/​Capitola is such an amazing place filled with amazing people; I consider myself lucky to spend my days building relationships with these people and calling it work!
