I’ve been dying my hair bright for the past 7 years and always looking for someone who knows how to work with paneling the colors I want to do. Rochelle is ABSOLUTELY amazing. She completely surpassed my hopes and dreams for my hair. Not only was it cut beautifully, the dimension of color on my hair is gorgeous. Forever coming back to her to take care of my hair.
These processes always take so long and I appreciate a stylist who is willing to put in the time and effort. She’s absolutely the best.

I actually had a hair appointment at a different salon. The girl had texted me that morning and had to cancel. I was out of luck. Due to time and scheduling that was the only day I can get my hair done.
I called everywhere; finally Brenda from Rumours was able to fit me in. She was very experienced and understanding of my hair. I wanted a light Ombré, my hair is dark. It was tough, but Brenda was able to do her magic. I love my hair cut and the light ombré. I believe things happen for a reason. It brought me to Brenda. Thank you so much.

I had an extremely bad haircut that left chunks missing and uneven hair from a salon I tried for the first time. I called Rumours in the morning and asked if anyone could see me to fix my hair for an emergency and was set up for an appt that very day. I saw Brenda– who did the most amazing job fixing my hair. It was a difficult situation and she put me at complete ease and now my hair looks amazing!!! I was totally freaked out but told her what I had originally asked for. She not only got exactly what I meant, she knew what would work well for my hair texture. I will definitely go back!

This 5 star review is in response to the bad one on here for the fabulous Melissa LoBue. Unilocal won’t accept my 5 stars post, so I had to use 4. I’ve had several keratin treatments done by her over the past couple of years and they last for ages. The use of the necessary styling products and equipment are key in the longevity of keratin treatments. I also recommend sleeping on a satin pillow case nightly. Sounds wacky but it helps keep hair smooth. Melissa has also cut and colored my hair. She’s professional, highly skilled, and has a keen eye for detail. I have never been anything other than seriously delighted with my hair. I would also like to add that depending on your hair length, keratin treatments cost hundreds of dollars and can sometimes take 3 to 5 hours to complete. I’m surprised Melissa took the negative reviewer’s calls at all as her tip came in way below the 15 to 20 percent normally tipped for these types of services. I just had my hair done by Melissa this past Friday and I love, love, love it! I highly recommend Melissa LoBue. She’s the Best!

I had a Brazilian Blowout done by Kayla K., and it was amazing! Not only did I receive wonderful professional service, but my hair looked and felt better than ever before! I have a very busy schedule, and she gave me a style that is quick and easy to style! Repeat customer for sure!

Rumours is a spacious, beautiful salon. Very clean and cool. I followed my stylist, Kayla, when she started up here as she always does great work and I will go wherever she is located! I’m picky when it comes to my hair and I leave our appointments feeling like a million bucks. Excellent highlights that look super natural. Affordable costs. I highly recommend booking an appointment with Kayla. She will make sure you get the perfect results you are looking for.

Kayla Kyles is so awesome and Rumors is lucky to have such a talented and vibrant personality working there. I followed Kayla over from Fusion and she is a star in her new digs! She has been doing my color and cuts for over a year as well as both of my daughters. She excels at Brazilian Blow Outs, hair cuts and color. She knows exactly how to please fickle teenage clients and make them feel special and look current with the latest hair styles.
We are so happy that Heather Smith also joined Rumors as she is the ultimate in sugar waxing and has been taking care of my daughters and myself with the gentlest touch.
Rumors offers a clean, trendy and open atmosphere and Kayla and Heather are super additions!

I have never, in my entire 32 years, felt so SEEN and tended to by a stylist. Si Ing Sophi spent at least 20 minutes patiently talking with me before she even did anything with my hair. She asked me all kinds of questions about what kind of person I am, what matters to me, what my current life goals are, etc. Then she designed the cut and color based on that conversation. I never would have thought of something so unique & bold on my own, but she saw what was possible and made it happen. I now have a dramatic, A-​line cut and my hair is bright red with dark maroon highlights (see posted photo below). I have been greeted by nothing by dropped jaws and «Oh my god who is your stylist your hair is AMAZING!» ever since. Si ing Sophi is the kind of stylist I recommend so strongly that she’s worth even a 2+ hour drive. I’m hooked. I hope I never have to go to another stylist again!

Evelyn is the greatest hair stylist! Her skills with hair color are outstanding; look so natural and hair feels amazing. I have gone to her for years now and don’t think my hair has ever been this healthy or looked so good! She is the best !!!

jennifer is the best hairdresser ever! She did a wonderful job on my hair. I went in with super long hair and got it cut off and colored for a change, and she did it right. I was so happy with it, and have been ever since, even in the in between stages. She is also very nice, and caring. I also love the salon, because it is classy, clean, with a minimalistic look, and they offer coffee and snacks! It is quite a treat for me to go there. I love it!
PS-​I see a few bad reviews about the salon, and some of the hairdressers, and I think that some of these people are either way too particular about things that most people wouldn’t be, and should lighten up a little (excuse me, but complaining about hard barstool seats and not being offered coffee or snacks? shut up.), and/​or perhaps they did get there on a bad day, but most hairdressers will be good in trying to resolve issues. Crap happens, but know when you’re crossing the line between being too, «scientific» about stuff, and when the hairdresser might be having a busy day, making it hard to be perfect for you, princess.

I had a Groupon for a cut & highlight with Jennifer. I called about a month before it expired and explained to her that although I wasn’t really ready for a cut, I needed to make an appointment because the Groupon would expire soon. She said, «I’m the one who decides if it expires. I will honor your Groupon whenever you’re ready to come in, just give me a call.» I thought wow, what great customer service!
So I called a few months later and told her I was ready to use my Groupon, and I also wanted to make an appointment for a cut for my daughter at the same time, for which I would pay in full. She denied ever having promised to honor the Groupon, and said I needed to contact them to find out what their policy is, because she doesn’t get paid if the Groupon is expired. I told her I’d contact them, but in the meantime my daughter and I both still needed a cut, so we scheduled appointments for both of us. This was just a few days ago.
Today, she called me to ask if I’d contacted Groupon yet. I said no, but that I would before my appointment. In any event, Groupon’s policy is that the Groupon is good for the amount paid at purchase, which in this case was $ 65. I said that even if she wouldn’t honor the Groupon, I’d just like to use the $ 65 toward our service. She said no, that the Groupon wasn’t good for anything since it was expired. I explained that it says right on the Groupon that it’s good for $ 65, but she refused and said I would have to pay for both our cuts. When I hesitated, she said, «I’m going to remove you and your daughter from the schedule. Contact Groupon and get your money back. Sorry it didn’t work out» then basically hung up on me.
Okay, so I may be able to get my money back from Groupon, haven’t tried yet. But the point is that first, she blatantly lied about being willing to honor the Groupon late, then even after I was willing to accept that, she refused to honor the paid price of the Groupon as per Groupon’s policy. Then worst of all, she left me and my daughter in the lurch, needing haircuts with no appointments right before the holidays, when everyone is booked up. Absolutely horrible.

I’ve been a stylist for over 20 years and I’m rarely wowed by anyone’s hair. So when I am I have to give a compliment. I was out one night in Santa Cruz checking out a band and saw Michelle’s awesome haircut. She’s so cute and sweet. When I told her how much I loved her hair she told me she got it cut at the salon she works at. Turns out she is an amazing esthetician which I was in need of. I’ve been to her a few times now and each time my skin looks tons better. I’ve had facials in the past and never had such a dramatic improvement. I like that Michelle uses skin products that are natural and never irritate my sensitive skin. If I could afford to come here every week I would. :)
I love the salon space and everyone there is really nice. It makes me want to work there. :) All my clients are up in Oakland though. :(If I lived in Santa Cruz and had some clients there I would work at this salon in a heart beat. I’ve worked in many high end salons and I really love the lay out of this place. I can’t imagine anyone not loving this salon.
On that note, I have to say that I noticed that most of the bad reviews on here are from group-​on deals. I would not waist your time reading these. I never do group-​on or living social deals. It’s better to just get clients threw referrals. I have found that coupons and deals, not all the time but most of the time, attract people that want everything for nothing and they are never happy. I had a coworker do group-​on and living social deals and I felt so bad for her that she was getting such difficult people that gave her bad reviews, because she is a great stylist. As soon as those deals were done for her she started only getting quality clients and with that great reviews. I don’t know what it is, but so many people that get a service because they have a deal end up never being happy no matter what you do.
So with that said, if you want great looking skin or are looking for a new salon to go to, I would highly recommend Michelle and this salon. :)

My mom and I tried Jennifer’s groupon and we loved how fast she was and amazing job she did so we made her our new regular stylish to go to. My mother got gorgeous extensions that makes her look younger and I got awesome highlights and a cut that makes me look older and I love it! If you need extensions or highlights then go to Jen.

I used a Groupon with Jennifer. My experience was very poor. She was rushed and only spent about 40 minutes all in all on my hair. I have thick, curly hair and EVERY OTHER stylist I have ever visited spend at least an 75 minutes on my hair. She did a quick trim, but no style at all. She sort of straightened it, but I was shoved out the door looking worse than I walked in! Cut & style? Jennifer did not live up her promise!

I purchased a Groupon for cut, hi-​lite and style with Jennifer — I arrived on time for my appt. and waited briefly at the front counter to be acknowledge. I gave my name and the name of my stylist, I was then told to have a seat and they would let Jennifer know that I had arrived. I went to the «waiting area» and climbed up on a very high and very uncomfortable wooden bar stool. I was offered water while I waited but declined as I had brought my own. I was not offered wine or snacks like others have posted in their reviews.
A few minutes later Jennifer came over and introduced herself and told me she was still with a client and had another client ahead of me and that it would be a 30 minute wait but she would try to be quicker… yes, I got concerned right away. I watched the other staff members chat it up amongst themselves and looked around the salon as I had time to do now. It did indeed look modern but upon further inspection you could see that it was not as clean and hip as it appeared to be at first.
One client left with wet hair as Jennifer finished with the second client and then it was my turn. Jennifer was very friendly and listened as I explained what I was looking for in style and color. I liked the cut and the color that I received especially for the Groupon price. But, I was surprised when Jennifer decided to style my hair in a manner completely different than I was accustomed to wearing and that she did not ask me if I felt adventurous that day to try something new… nor was I ever offered wine or snacks during this process (wash, cut and hi-​lite was just about an hour).
Conversation was friendly yet somewhat opinionated on her part on most subjects which made me slightly uncomfortable and less willing to continue with what should be just light-​hearted conversation. Her next appointment came in while I was abut 20 minutes away from being «done».
It was obvious to me that she overbooks herself and it was probably the Groupon deal and the number of purchases that she was trying to accommodate. I liked my cut and color — I did point out areas that needed attention with color due to gray and unfortunately she missed 2 key areas with the color and did them myself with a box product 2 days later. I would return with for the Groupon price, but I would not pay $ 40 for cut and $ 75 for color — wait on a hard bar stool for 30 minutes and feel just a tad uncomfortable with the staff’s lack of real friendliness.

He always LISTENS to what I want — then explains to me how we realistically can (or can’t) make it happen. I feel very comfortable turning my hair over to him — he always explains everything he is doing which makes me feel at ease.
He also recommends great products and treatments — not to rip you off but to make you beautiful! I got a keratin treatment per his recommendation and I LOVE IT! Barely have to blowdry or straighten my hair for it to be styled — my hair has never looked this healthy!
He is very knowledgable about hair, he knows what is damaging and doesn’t mind explaining pros and cons — giving you the opportunity to make informed decisions without feeling pressured.
I moved to Campbell about a year ago — and I still make the drive to see him. He is a great stylist, and a great person — very fun to spend the hour plus with. (And you get wine!)
Overall the salon is clean and professional — but what makes this place amazing for me is Luis.

I go to Rumours Salon and Spa I’ve been a client there for 2 years but I’ve been going to her for 8 years. My stylist Adriana is amazing! She always has a new style and hair color for me. All staff is very friendly and they know what I like. The salon is beautiful and it’s a relaxing environment. By the way, I strongly disagree with the previous client Julie. Gina is always friendly and greets me every time I get my cut or color even though she’s not even my stylist. This lady must of been having a bad day.

Terrible experience. I have never met such a rude mannered stylist before. Gina was so unbelievably ill mannered that I had to walk out.
However, the space was really nice and seems like a great salon if you have a good stylist.
I go to Theresa at Redz now and love her.

I used my groupon today with Jennifer Cardoza and I was so impressed that I came home to write a review first thing!
She really pulled a miracle on me. I had multi colored, faded, frizzy and dried hair :(
and yet she colored it the Exact color I have been wanting (and asking other stylists for with no success) and knew how to cut my hair to change me from bozo the clown to a sleek, sophisticated healthy looking hair! She suggested a deep conditioner and it was worth it! My hair is so shiny, healthy and gorgeous now!!!
I will definitely come back she listened and knew what to do with out me over explaining and it came out perfect!
She really knows her stuff!
