This practice has been such a comfort and help to me. Everyone there contributes to what I’ve come to appreciate as excellent Dental Care. Christina, at the front desk, is not only a warm and welcoming presence, but she unwinds insurance issues and business matters clearly and helpfully. Krista, Brandie, and Teresa are true professionals – who in addition to also making you feel relaxed, work flawlessly with Dr. Bob in whatever procedure he might need to do. I’ve had some doozy issues arise – broken teeth, crowns, etc from an active lifestyle. I’ve always felt like Dr. Bob and his staff have looked at each issue as a challenge to provide me with the best functional and aesthetic outcome… and they’ve always succeeded – not just with their medical skill, but with making me feel cared about. I can’t help wishing that every medical professional gave this kind of care.

There just simply isn’t another dentist in my book. I’m so afraid of dentists and they’ll do everything needed to make things comfortable. All of this and the work is amazing! Dr. Bob is a very talented craftsman who pays great attention to the details of your teeth. Dont go anywhere else!

The staff behind the scenes is Amazing! I didn’t work with Dr. S. Because I was just going in for a custom teeth whitening kit I won! The office donated to a local charity event to raise $ for a friends mom who has the awful C word! So nice that Dr. S gives to his local community & other small businesses (Vice Salon). The assistants were so sweet and accommodating Esp. since I drove from San Jose. they made sure I didn’t have to make 2 trips over the hill. Love my Opal-​essence whitening home kit! Its so easy to use and saw results after the 2^nd use. Thanks again Capitola Dental & Dr. S & staff”

Best Dentist ever ! Had an implant by Dr. Bob. Super professional staff. Has a lab onsite. Before visiting Dr. Bob, I had a terrible experience with another Dentist. He is on Unilocal with one star. Thank goodness for Dr. Bob and Unilocal !

Still! I have never had better care. I can’t say enough about the care I’ve received in this office. Dr. Bob, Teresa, Krista, and Brandie give their patients the same care they give their families. If you truly want to be educated about your dental health and want a dentist that cares, go here. They have a strong team and continually invest in technology and their education. Though I now live in the Bay Area, I plan on continuing my care with Dr. Schellentrager and Teresa, because I’ve never been put at such ease by a dentist and I know without a doubt they truly respect their patients. After calling around trying to find a convenient dentist, I’ve realized that not all dental offices have such a knowledgeable staff, that has the patience to answer nitpicky questions about scheduling, fees, insurance and standards of care. So, I am staying where I know I can trust the people working in my mouth. Dr. Schellentrager really did assuage my dental fears and I’ve never had a hygienist like Teresa. We can’t win ‘em all Unilocalers, but this office does their utmost. I highly recommend this office.

Excellent service. Friendly staff. I came in with a horrible tooth ache, and after a painless root canal procedure everything was back to normal. Dr. Schellentrager and his team are the best.

I have had several dentists over the years. Unhappy with all of them my Mother kept saying you have to go to my dentist! Finally listened to her advice and went. I found from the first phone call his receptionist was extremely professional and efficient. Quickly was able to make an appointment and get in. His assistants are very knowledgeable and experienced. Dr. Bob is very professional and experienced as well. He has filled cavities, made crowns (that was the best part didn’t have to wait forever with a temporary crown he made it while i waited!!!) He was on time and made my visit very comfortable. I would recommend him to anyone!

Dr. Bob is a terrific Dentist, utmost professional in all aspects of his office and overall dental care. He uses the latest technology to ensure your best care and his procedures are done with accurate precision and since he uses his magnification glasses he is able to attend to the smallest details. If there is a procedure that he can’t take care of, he has a terrific list of specialists to refer you to as well — and those have all been A+ experiences. I have been a patient of this office for over 20 years, along with my entire family, several friends and relatives who are also long time patients. if you are looking for a gentle and caring staff, this is the office for you!
To address the other posting of the attractive staff, yes they are, they take care of their teeth and bodies, and there is nothing wrong with that, if you look and feel good it shows!

I have seen nothing but exceptional dentistry come from this office and had personal experience working with this dentist. He and his staff do exceptional work (basically perfect)! I have seen no other dentist try as hard as Dr. Bob and his staff to deliver the best dentistry. He provides you with the best/​most realistic dentistry in Santa Cruz. If you knock a front tooth out no one will match your shade better then this office. If you care about your teeth Dr. Bob and his girls are the ones to see.

I’m going to start off with the obvious: I hate dentists. I hate the smell of enamel dust. I hate being left to recline somewhere in between upright and down. And quite frankly, I get creeped out by men wearing magnified bifocals looking deep into the recesses of my mouth.
With that being said, I must begrudgingly admit that I will trust my teeth to no one except Dr. Bob. You see, all the assistants at the office call him Dr. Bob… sounds innocent enough, doesn’t it? Well, Dr. Bob only hires the hottest blond assistants (hell, who am I kidding, his ENTIRE staff is hot) in all of Sweden, if not the world. They’re like fembots in white dental uniforms. As I drift into nitrous oxide land, Heidi’s face is nothing if not soothing to stare into.
Dr. Bob, on the other hand, is intimidating as all hell. But you know what, his walls are lined with diplomas and certificates, and I well, I can respect that. He’s a no nonsense kinda dude, and his skills justify every bit of arrogance he exudes.
His dental office is full service, and while he is more than proficient at the basic stuff, Dr. Bob truly is an artist when it comes to the cosmetic stuff. He has a lab where another hot blond chick makes crowns and veneers on the spot. Super convenient, since you don’t have to wait for another lab to crank out your pearly whites. She will match your teeth (color, shape, etc) to whatever it is that they will be putting in. Hockey players take note.
I have nightmares that someday all my teeth will fall out, so finding an excellent quality dentist is one of those stressful events that I have suffered greatly through. While I have probably paid for at least one of his kid’s college educations (or one of his trips to Fiji), I can honestly say that I wouldn’t trust my teeth to anyone else in the entire state. He’s that good.
