Specialties
The Dragonfly has a unique flavor of beauty, health, fun, and love. It is located in the middle of the 3 dolphin freindly bays that have great diving and snorkeling. Animals at the Dragonfly are people friendly. The beds are luxurious and the rooms are indoor/outdoor with private entrances and private outdoor showers. The Dragonfly Ohana (family team) is friendly and helpful. The food is as organic as possible and most people learn good things about nutrition while visiting the Dragonfly. Guests are frequently very interesting and sometimes dinners are shared with lovely conversation. Many people love the colorful labyrinth. Children love the Siamese cats and little dogs.
History
Established in 1980.
Crafted by the owner, Barbara Moore, with the help of her mother, Emelyn, (starting in 1974 when Barbara was 30), the Dragonfly Ranch has been a lifetime labor of love.

Business Owner
When I turned 30, I was gifted two extraordinary blessings: (1) to be the Big Island’s first lomilomi massage student of world renown kahuna haha, Aunty Margaret Machado, and (2) to become the steward of beautiful acreage in the middle of the ancient «Healing Triangle» on Hawaii’s Kona Coast.
One of my greatest joys is having the opportunity to share with my guests the amazing healing experience of playful dolphins that like to swim with us in nearby bays. These Spinner dolphins, like my dogs, beam transformative love energy.
While crafting my gigantic «tree house,» I learned how to work in harmony with the land, combining permaculture with ancient Hawaiian «Aloha Aina” – love of the land.
Here in South Kona near the ancient «Place of Sanctuary,» the true Hawaiian lifestyle has been preserved.
Welcoming people into my Hawaiian hideaway and my heart is the path I have chosen with Aloha.
