«After reading the excellent reviews on Unilocal for Perfect Shutters, I decided to hire them. If great quality shutters and EXCELLENT customer service is what you are looking for, then call Perfect Fit Shutters! Never met Matt the owner in person but he set everything up for me. Rex was who came over to measure and he was great to work with:)) The installation was handled by Brian and Bryce. I was sooooo impressed with them! They covered their shoes and worked quickly and efficiently. They were both personable and very knowledgeable. A few days after installation I noticed a few tiny areas where the caulking shrunk that needed to be touched up. The owner set up an appointment for 2 days later and Brian and Bryce arrived! They fixed the caulking and reminded us that if there are any problems, to please call and they will be back ASAP! When I showed Brian how the paint was chipping off of the older wood shutters in my house, that I had bought from another company, he went out to his truck and got 2 small containers of touch up paint for me to use on them! I would highly recommend using Perfect Fit for your shades and blinds. Great quality products and excellent customer service. Way better than dealing with a massive home improvement store. Matthew is very professional, responsive, and is willing to go the extra mile for good customer service. I will for sure be using Perfect Fit again and you should too!

Simply put, Matthew is the best. Honest, knowledgeable, puts his customers’ best interests ahead of making a sale, up front pricing and on demand servicing when needed separates Perfect Fit from its competitors that are usually middlemen that provide no expertise and only care about the sale. I shopped around and am so happy. He should be your first call.

My review is based on the customer experience I had with these guys. They are highly rated on Unilocal,however I couldn’t come to terms with the reviews.
Pros:
1. Quality of work is good overall.
2. Responsive but mostly by text (after installation).
3. Gave good details about shutters the first time I met the owner.
Cons:
1. Poor customer service and owner stopped picking up phone after installation. Especially noticing that his behavior has changed. Only responds via text now.
2. The installation crew showed up late by 40 minutes (I had taken time off from work).
3. Owner didn’t brief me that he won’t show up for the installation. I had to call and request him to be present on the day of the installation (all last minute). He did show 30 minutes after his guys were already at my house.
4. Owner was not polite and seemed grumpy. Said that he doesn’t want to come back to do a 1-​minute fix in future, so better take care of any issue I see with the installation. Expected better from him. To me, looked like child behavior.
Overall, OK. Will not use them for my big house.

After getting such bad customer service at a local Lowes I was at my wits end trying to find a good company for shutters. My friend posted pictures of her recent shutters done by this company and so I asked her for their info. From the first call I felt at ease knowing that I was not going to be pressured or up-​selled for anything. Matthew came to my house and let me see the materials used, answered my thousand questions, was professional, and polite. A majority of my windows are oversized so I was expecting the worse but the total was very comparable and cheaper than some. On the day of the install the techs were REALLY fast on installing and highly professional. They took care of the surrounding areas and did not leave any mess behind. I have referred them to others and the shutters themselves completely transformed my house. Great work!

I am a very satisfied customer. We moved into a home with no window and slider coverings. I got quotes from different vendors, and I found their quotes outrageously high. Matthew and his team were a breath of fresh air. They listen to the customer. They suggested practical window coverings that would work for our family. Cost was pretty reasonable. Installation went smoothly. We are very happy with the honeycomb shades that conserve energy. I would definitely recommend them!!!

I was really impressed with Matthew and his team, from when I first met with my design consultant «Rex», to the end when his installation team showed up at my home to do my installation.
Rex was patient and attentive, he answered all of my questions and made valuable suggestions as to what would work best for my home.
I was kept informed at all times, his installation team showed up on time, their work ethic was outstanding, they were courteous and left my home looking clean with no traces that they had just completed installing my shutters through out my home.
I look forward to doing business with them once again in the near future.

I’m really happy with the service and shutters we purchased. Mathew and his team are truly genuine and not «sales-​y» at all. The shutters are so beautiful and great quality. I love that they are lifetime warranty against any defect and if there are any problems they told me to call them not the shutter company and they would take care of it quicker and with no cost. Most companies are happy to pass you on to the manufacturer. I didn’t price compare as I read other reviews on Nextdoor where several people commented they were the lower priced option. I wouldn’t hesitate to use them again if I needed.

Overall exceptional service! Matthew is knowledge and demonstrated extraordinary customer service. I needed help with blinds and on a tight deadline. Matthew was able to squeeze in my service, he called and kept me informed on the job to finish on-​time and you can’t beat his price! Thank You Matthew!

Matthew and his whole team of installers are the best! He is great to work with and knows how to help you get the look you want. The shutters are high quality and look great in our house — and the price is right. He even came out an re-​ordered a shade for us when the original one just wasn’t perfect. Great customer service. I highly recommend them!

Matthew and his team provide the old fashioned kind of honesty and service that seems hard to find these days. I got two quotes and his prices were better. He is a super nice guy (and his team is, too), so it was pleasant having them in the house during the installation. They are show up when they say they will. They even put disposable booties on the bottoms of their shoes so they keep your house clean. And they didn’t leave behind a mess. The shutters are fantastic quality, and we were thrilled with how they turned out. Matthew was really skilled on guidance as to what types/​colors to get, how to hinge them, etc.
Here’s another great story about Matt: I had him come out again after the initial quote since I wanted to be sure about the color of white we had chosen. I also planned on adding an additional window to the quote I had previously forgotten about (a high small window in a different spot from the rest). He was amazing enough to throw that window in for FREE rather than adding in the extra cost to the initial quote! That’s great service.
They came in at a later point for the installation of all the windows. Remember that extra free shutter he gave us for that small window? Well, the manufacturer made a mistake and sent the wrong size. (wasn’t Matthew’s fault) He promptly fixed the mistake, ordered the proper sized shutter, and scheduled his guys to come back asap when it came in. Even though he had pretty much taken a loss on this since this was the shutter he had thrown in for free.
I never had to call him once throughout the whole process of obtaining our new shutters, he was very proactive about providing great service from beginning to end.

I received an in home estimate from a large blind company and Matt. Matt’s design was better, price ¹⁄₃ less, and the personalized service was outstanding. Matt and his team’s integrity, perfectionism, quality product and high value of customer service is remarkable. Too bad Unilocal doesn’t have 6 stars.

Matthew was so great! He gave us great advice, was easy to work with, and did awesome work. He advised us to wait on several of our windows for various reasons (blinds weren’t necessary; we’d need to outside mount the blind box, which he didn’t recommend and therefore advised us to wait and either do curtains or save up for shutters). It always nice to work with someone who gives you their honest opinion, even if that means less business for them. All his suggestions were spot on and the blinds and shutters he helped us choose look gorgeous. He’s the best!

Great experience with Perfect Fit. Matthew is a true expert in the area, and from the beginning was honest, upfront, and friendly. My sister and I ordered shutters at about the same time — us from Perfect Fit and her from Three Day Blinds. Hers were almost double the price and took 6 weeks longer to arrive.
We had shutters put in three rooms of our home (4 windows). Because three of our windows had no sill whatsoever, Matthew had to build a frame around the window for the shutters, which allows them to open and close but makes them jut out from the window (like a big box sort of). It’s not ideal, but it was really the only solution, and hanging decorative curtains helped with the aesthetics of it. We went with the non-​wood shutters (is it poly wood?) and no push rod at the recommendation of Matthew and whew! are we glad we did. He totally forsaw that our 18mo old’s new favorite past time would be standing in front of the window, constantly opening, closing, opening, closing those shutters. If we would have gone with wood, there would already be peanut butter and jelly prints all over the bottom two slats and if we’d gone with a rod it would have already been broken off. You would be wise to take Matthew’s advice on whatever he tells you is best for you and your home.
Initially, I only gave 4 stars because the job seemed a little incomplete on one of the windows. The one window that had a sill and didn’t need a frame was installed on a wall that clearly isn’t flat (but is any wall?) and there were major gaps all the way around the new moulding. Basically, it just needed to be caulked. Obviously this is something we could do ourselves, but it just seems like it should have been done upon installation. I figured it wouldn’t take that long to caulk that size area, but it would have made the difference in giving the window a finished look. After reading my review, Matthew called me, explained why he didn’t routinely caulk the frames (makes repair more difficult) but offered to come that week and do it if I still wanted. I did, and last week he drove all the way to Vista to finish the job. Who does that? Customer service is clearly important to him.
Overall, I’d highly recommend Perfect Fit. Unilocal isn’t misleading you here — this guy has 5 stars for a reason!

Matthew at Perfect Fit is great! I recently had shutters installed and the entire process was smooth and easy. Matthew was professional and gave me all the information I needed to make the best decision. He was not pushy or «salesy» at all, which I loved. I looked at a couple other companies, but ultimately I picked Perfect Fit because I saw all the great reviews and his price point was great. My shutters arrived when he said they would and his team installed them immediately. I could not be more happy and I would absolutely refer him to anyone looking for any type of window treatments.

Matthew is the real deal. He is the kind of rare professional with very high integrity who really is about service. He quickly assessed my needs and actually recommended a competitor’s brand and well as retail outlet as best serving my needs! He never tried to push his own products. He never bad mouthed the competition or any one but rather was completely transparent and allowed me to make an informed decision. I highly value his honesty, low key approach, friendly demeanor, and the overall positive energy that he carries. I would give him my highest recommendation and would not hesitate to give him my business or refer friends to him for window shutters, shades or window coverings.
It is refreshing and encouraging to have people like Matthew who live and work in Cardiff.
