Description

Specialties

King’s View offers educational equestrian programs specializing in horseback riding lessons for children and adults as well as unique life skills programs for children ages 8 – 15. Our life skills programs are designed to develop leadership, independence, and responsibility by using horses as the center of the curriculum. We teach money management, cooking, etiquette and other useful skills along with horseback riding and animal care. Our instructor is a licensed PA teacher with a masters degree in Psychology and 30+ years of horseback riding and teaching experience. Horseback riding lessons emphasize dressage basics and advanced movements. Lessons are taught on your horse or ours at your farm or ours. We also offer limited full care horse boarding. Horses at King’s View are treated like kings with private turn out, top quality care, and extra TLC.

History

Established in 2014.

Ellen and Steve Heckert purchased the farm in May of 2014. They spent the first year remodeling the property and creating a professional facility for their business. As a former middle school teacher and college professor as well as an accomplished equestrian, Ellen wanted to use her skill as a teacher and her love of horses to help young people develop the skills they will need to be successful. Horses were acquired and trained, curriculum was developed, and the business was born.
