Specialties

We produce 100% grass fed and grass finished beef, pastured pork, pastured chicken, and maple syrup. All of our products are available year-​round at the Troy Waterfront and Winter Farmers Market on Saturdays from 9 am to 2 pm, and at the Schenectady Greenmarket on Sundays from 10 am to 2 pm. Our grass fed beef is also available at the Honest Weight Food Coop, 100 Watervliet Avenue in Albany, NY. All products are also available at the farm by appointment.

History

Established in 1997.

We discovered grass based livestock farming after we bought a 200-​acre former dairy farm. We bought a beef cow and her calf, built a good fence around the farm, installed an above ground water system, found the Troy Waterfront Farmers Market, and steadily grew the farm. Today, we have 250 head of cattle. We also raise pigs and about 1,000 meat chickens every year. We have an on-​farm wood-​fired smokehouse for our bacon, hams and sausage. We recently installed an on-​farm chicken processing facility for the meat birds. We are committed to sustainable agriculture and the local food movement.

Business Owner

Frank grew up on a dairy farm and Judy always wanted a farm. Frank runs the farm full time. Judy is a Project Manager for a local civil engineering firm.
