Campus café, the hidden lunch time gem! Located along La Place Ct, tucked away back on the first floor of this commercial business building. Seating is a few tables inside and some great outdoor patio seating for small groups and individuals. With a loaded sandwich menu, Campus offers some great meals that have that home style lunch feel. Choosing one of the stacked sandwiches, «The Carlsbad» I was pleasantly surprised by the size and quality of the meal… Yep a meal. This sandwich was decent helping, so be prepared if your not a big eater. Service here is great! Although the plates take a little long at lunch due to the number of people, it’s worth the wait. Drinks wise, you have a few fridges with your favorite beverages and fountain soft drink. Free water is offered. Overall Food: 4 – 5 Drink: 3 – 5 Service: 4 – 5 Coming back: Yes

This sandwich shop is hidden away in a commercial building complex of Carlsbad. It borders onto the Palomar airport(north side). 3⁄5 stars — Location. It really is hard to find. No signage to assist in getting you to the goal of lunch. It’s like finding a lost city. 4⁄5 stars — Price. Average price for a sandwich is about $ 7. 3⁄5 stars — Service. Employees seem a little confused. And if you haven’t been there before, you don’t quite know how you’re going to get the sandwich(because they assume you know already …) 5⁄5 stars — Food. The sandwich is very good. I ordered the Caliente Club — turkey, crispy bacon, pepperjack cheese, avocado, lettuce, tomato, mayo on jalapeño cheese bread. Delicious. Overall a 4⁄5 experience. I recommend stopping by if you can find it.

This place is located in the business area and has great food! Very convenient. Also, the meals are a good(pretty big) portion and excellent quality. Their lunch specials are the best… Especially the bibimbop on Fridays. It’s a family-owned business and all the employees are super nice and friendly and will remember your name. I have lunch here about 3 times a week. :D

One of the women at work brought in an assortment of sandwiches from the Campus Café. I had the chicken on a rye type of roll and it was so fantastic I can hardly wait to go get another sandwich from this location. WOW, absolutely delicious.

I enjoyed the special today for lunch it was the BBB. Basically rice, steamed vegetables, beef, and an egg which mixed together with their pepper sauce was good but nothing special to write about. If I worked in the area I might be a regular because of the reasonable price $ 6 – 7 of the sandwiches but not being from around here I will likely try another for lunch next time.

Saw this my near my work so I wanted to support local businesses. One and done. Croissant breakfast sandwich left a lot to be desired. Did you even use an entire egg?

First thing about Campus Café — Don’t trust Google Maps to get you here! G. Maps says that this place is in the middle of an highway when its actually in the adjacent business park. Once that get settled, I left Campus Café very impressed, and full! The sandwiches were great, full of meat, and the line moved quickly during the lunch rush. The prices per sandwich seems to range from $ 6-$ 7, which is not that bad at all. This is a great place for lunch. Check it out!

The daily specials are awesome. They won’t be listed on the website so call in and ask what they’re offering for the day, or sign up when you do get there. You’re able to view their main menu as well as order online on their website. So far my favorite daily special is the spicy pork bulgogi/Korean bbq. It comes with rice and salad with a DELICIOUS house dressing. I have also tried their chicken buffalo sub special, but, for me, for the cost and their reputation of having great dailies it was not up to par with other spicy buffalo chicken focused recipes I’ve tasted elsewhere in the past. Today I tried their hot sandwich Santa Fe Beef and it was the greatest sandwich I have tried in a very long time. I added onions to my sandwich(because I love onions). I can imagine myself craving this particular sandwich in the future. If you like Philly Cheese Steak sandwiches or roast beef definitely give it a try The location is also amazing! And the staff is just as wonderful.

My wife found Campus Café on Unilocal but when we pulled into this office park thought we had the wrong address. To our surprise it was tucked into a beautifully landscaped courtyard with a great deal of outdoor seating. And the food!!! The food was outstanding at a very reasonable price. We’ll be back often!

This is a hidden gem in a business park down the street from my work. They make the best quality deli sandwiches in the area and for the price it cannot be beat. I was introduced to this gem by a co-worker and I couldn’t thank him more for the recommendation. Highly recommend calling in your order if you stop by from 12−1pm M-F it gets really busy from all the local workers taking there lunch. They also have daily specials which you can find out when you call in or when you walk in to the deli they have a chalk board with the specials written on it. Enjoy! I know I have.

The Campus Café is a great lunch option during the week. I often find myself here when I forget to pack a lunch or am not feeling the lunch I have packed for myself. The last few times I have gone, I have ordered the soup, because I love soup. I look forward to trying their specials because they look to die for. The outside patio area is very serene and peaceful. A great get away when working inside all day. The employees working at the counter are always patient and very helpful when ordering.

I’ve gone here a few times for a normal chicken salad or the yogurt parfait. Never had an issue till today! Around 945AM I went in for a salad didn’t look it over just bought it and went into work since its right next door. Around 1030 I went to eat it, noticed it smelled a bit funny and the chicken was rubbery and sticky. Upon looking further at it, the chicken and cheese on it was moldy and it had to have been sitting out for awhile. It was in their mini fridge that was the correct temperature. What further annoyed me and grossed me out was the fact when I went in to complain. She offered to make a new one, I watch her go to the kitchen and can see her open the salad with no gloves and attempt to remove the chicken and cheese keeping the lettuce and reuse it! I just yelled no thank you I want a refund! The man at the register didn’t look at me or acknowledge I was even there. The lady came back apologized and then another co worker began looking at the other salad in the mini fridge and their main fridge removing them and placing them on the kitchen counter. I walked away annoyed 1. Why do these not have dates they were made? 2. Why do you not look at the salad as you place them in the mini fridge. 3. Why would you try to reuse a salad that was near mold! I will be reporting them to the health department and last time I will ever go there, from now on its always the La Place Deli Charley is they the best!

Wow! This place is amazing! I had the chicken teriyaki combo– so good! The choice was perfect, no bones or fat like other teriyaki places. Sauce is homemade too. OMG– the homemade sesame dressing is delicious! I could seriously drink it! My son had a Ham sandwich that was also good. He only wanted ham, mayo and bread but it was still very tasty. Good quality ingredients! My friend told me the pork special on Thursday is even better than the Teriyaki… I’m for sure coming back for that! I should have taken a pic of my food but I was so hungry and it was soooooo good!

New beginnings. As I started a «new job» because my old company got acquired, I’ll admit, I wasn’t exactly thrilled to learn that my commute went from 10 – 15 minutes to 35 – 50 minutes(depending on traffic). One good thing about it all(Aside from still having a job…) is that I get to explore new restaurants. My first day, I didn’t bring lunch. Boneheaded stupid move. So what do I do? I Unilocal it! I was quite excited to know that the #2 restaurant in ALLOFCARLSBAD is attached to my office building. So what does that mean? Instant knowing where I will go. The Menu: The menu consists of many different sandwiches and while watching people walk away with their bounty, I realized that none of them were TOO appetizing. They went from traditional clubs to «specialty sandwiches». You know, the ones with avocado that every sandwich shop has. It wasn’t until about 5 minutes waiting in line that I realized the«daily special» menu I see everyone talk about on Unilocal was actually behind me. Yes, behind me as in I only would have seen it while exiting the shop. Marketing fail! Food: I got the Thai Chicken lettuce wrap. This consisted of Thai Peanut sauce, Rice noodles, Tortilla, Lettuce, and Chicken. Much like the ingredients of your favorite food, I listed these in the largest quantity to the smallest. In other words, they doused this thing in peanut sauce. The overall taste was good though! The sauce had a nice flavor of peanut and just the right amount of heat. I’d love to get this sauce on some chicken Satay(which is what I think they were going for). The wrap did fill me up, which was a major plus since it only cost ~$ 6. In all honesty, I expected a sandwich shop in a business park to have inflated prices. Not too bad here. Seating: The seating is non-existent. You can sit outside, which is small in numbers, or you can eat it at your desk/in your car. Guess which one I did! Literally attached to my office. Service. I do have to say everyone here that I interfaced with was extremely nice and had a smile on their face. This made it very pleasant to come here. All in all, I’d go back. Not JUST because it’s convenient, although that’s a HUGE perk. If I could base this off of location, I’d give it 4 stars, but most people reading this don’t work here so that can’t have an impact on the review. TL:DR — Convenient for me and good but probably not worth the drive.

We’ve been here twice now. I must say I love the beautiful escape from my office. The koi pond is the perfect mid day get away. The food over all is very simple fast and delicious I have had both the caliente and the New Yorker. I was expecting more of a kick in the caliente burger being in SoCal advertising something as spicy better have a good kick to it. The New Yorker was right on the mark though. Swevice is friendly and they have a very wide range of drink options which is great.

If you’re looking for an affordable — if not cheap — place to eat lunch, the Campus Café delivers. I’ve been frequenting this family-owned deli for a couple of years and have never been disappointed… except when they run out of curry! VEGGIEBURGER = AWESOME, perfectly toasted bun and all. This is definitely one of my favorites. INDIANSTYLECURRY — A vegetarian melody of carrots, cauliflower, potatoes, tofu paneer(yes, somehow these are fused), onion alongside a large bed of steamed rice. I was able to save half of it for my lunch the next day(#win). OUTDOORDINING — The courtyard that you can eat at here will make your offficescape looked like chopped liver! Filled with succulents, foliage — yes, there’s a water feature — as well as sunny & shaded tables to dine at, this is a cool place for a lunch with up to 3 other people(due to table size). There are 6 – 8 outdoor tables plus a few indoors. Oh — and if you order something here and want mustard it’s called YELLOW not MUSTARD! ;) *$ 5 minimum on credit card transactions.

I work nearby off of Faraday in Carlsbad and myself and fellow co-workers make a weekly visit to Campus Café. Great salads and soups! The dressing they use for the Asian salad is to die for, I have literally drank it before. My ultimate favorite is the kale soup, which is a Monday lunch special. The kale soup has sausage, Parmesan, and kale in a creamy broth. I am not a soup person, but once I tried it, I was hooked. A family owns the place and they are so friendly and awesome. We have catered for work events and they come drop off the food and pick up the bowls later that day. They could not make it much easier. I definitely recommend Campus for lunch!

Came here for lunch today because of the reviews. It’s down the street from my work. I called in an order, asked for their daily specials and was told today’s special was a Teriyaki Combo which includes Teriyaki chicken, 4 pieces California Roll, and a side salad. For less than $ 9.00. Add a lil Siracha and it was perfect! Their menu looks strictly like a deli sandwich shop, but it seems like their daily special is something Asian with rice.

Tucked away in the middle of the Carlsbad Business Park is this wonderful little lunchtime oasis. When you first wander past the lush koi ponds outside Campus Café, you may not take note of the little deli with an unassuming storefront and not highly decorated interior. I implore you venture inside and trust me when I say you’ll be welcomed like family. The family that runs Campus Café is so upbeat and friendly. They will remember your name from the very first time you walk in. The service you will receive is beyond compare. The food is delicious! It is obvious that the owners really take pride in their food. Their daily specials are always a mixture of fun twists on regular sandwiches or family secret recipes that are beyond scrumptious. Take some time out of your busy day to relax by the ponds, enjoy good food, and experience great customer service.

Campus Café is not your average suburban office park deli. The place has exceptional food, a really peaceful setting and customer-focused family ownership. On my first visit I had one of the daily specials, the Chicken Curry with chicken(of course!), potatoes, peas and onions. It tasted good but was a bit bland and could have used more seasoning. Still, it was really good. I’d definitely order it again. I tried my buddy’s Italian Wedding Soup, which was good but maybe a little salty but tasted good also. My other buddy had the Santa Fe Beef on a really good looking roll. On my most recent visit I ordered the Southwestern Chicken sandwich, which includes a whole green chili(my fave), melted jack cheese and mayo on a toasted onion roll. I could have used some lettuce and tomato but I really enjoyed the sandwich. Yum. And what a beautiful place to eat and relax. The deli is in the back of a really pleasant courtyard with mature landscaping, ample seating and a koi pond. The place feels more like a botanic garden than the middle of an office park. The pleasant whisssshhhhh of the waterfall(seriously, there is a waterfall!) and delicous lunch together offer a short but refreshing vacation from the workday. While waiting for my order, I overheard one of the ladies behind the counter(presumably one of the owners) telling a customer he should really try a sandwich with ham next time because she gets really good ham from a great supplier. I love that the owners take such pride in the quality of their ingredients. Great place, especially for a deli in an office park.
