History

Established in 1983.

The Carlsbad Educational Foundation (CEF) is a 501©(3) non-​profit organization that provides private support for public education programs throughout the Carlsbad Unified School District. Since its founding in 1983, CEF has invested over $ 6 million in programs for CUSD students. CEF is the only organization in Carlsbad charged with raising district-​wide support for every school and student in our elementary, middle and high schools.

A wonderful option for before or after care, however, if your child has developmental issues that are out of his/​her control and you are trying to help your child with therapy, etc., this program cannot handle helping kids. Instead, they punish them by depriving them of food for long hours for misbehaving. Instead of using common sense and making sure the child misses recess, or gets taken to a room and separate them from the other kids, they will punish them by not allowing them to eat for 5 – 6 hours until you pick them up. Isn’t this child abuse? Kids need nourishment, rest and sleep. Eating is a human being’s most important necessity to function, get energy and stay nourished. They punish kids here and deprive them of food. They should be reported.
