Dancessense Studios

The unfortunate thing about this place is that they don’t seem to care much about either their studio or the dancers. Their website is a disaster, inaccurate and hard to navigate.
I guess, as a dancer, I don’t feel respected when a dance studio does not even bother to bring in sufficient dancers to make it fun for me, make me want to come back. And to bring in enough dancers, the website has to be accurate and plenty of advertising needs to be done. For whatever reason these people don’t bother.
I do love the gigantic ballrooms and the abundant parking.
Wish these people would get their act together.

I Love going to Dancessence! They are friendly, a Family Owned Business (who just happen to be World Champions!) and located in a beautiful facility.
I am new to ballroom dancing and this has changed my life going there. New friends and A great way to reduce stress — plus you’re getting exercise. It is not only heart healthy — but Dr. Oz says Dancing is one of the best things you can do for your Mind and Body – I agree :)

I have been using this studio to rehearse for my shows. It is a great well maintained studio with excellent flooring, enough space & natural light. Turns out to be the best atmosphere for me to concentrate on my work.

This place is a class act! It is a beautiful facility with quality dance floors. Melissa and Giacomo have done everything imaginable to cater to all kinds of dancers. The monthly schedule is filled with a wide variety of classes and there are weekly parties and special events… including live music and workshops. It is the place to dance in North County and worth the commute if you live elsewhere!
My husband and I have been taking West Coast Swing classes at Dancessence for over two years and have really come to love the dance. There is now a new WCS dance instructor, Mike Anderson, who is well known in the WCS community and is an excellent teacher! On Thursdays at Dancessence, there’s a class for beginners followed by a class for more experienced WCS dancers. The classes are really fun!
We love this place and have met many wonderful people there!

I just finished my first Gentle Zumba class with Alessandra. Wonderful. I have fibromyalgia and chronic pain issues and this class was the right speed. She taught gentle movements that were easy to follow and there was no shame in taking breaks when I needed. A lovely cool down, patient and knowledgeable instructor. This should be on every fibromyalgia website.

I visited this studio for the Firehouse Swing party. However, this review if for the studio itself.
Studio is located in a business park few miles off the freeway. The neighborhood is quite nice-​looking and definitely safe. Unfortunately, the sign is currently off (through to no fault of the studio) as is the street number, so trust your GPS. Due to the location, ample parking is available.
Once inside, there are two large dance floors with no poles in the middle — this allows for free movement of the dancers. The quality of the floor is excellent, as is the sound system. The people at the studio are friendly. On the main dance floor, plenty of seating with tables is available.
Water bottles are available at the entrance for $ 1.
Altogether, an excellent place to dance in the North County.

The studio is the dream of Melissa and Giacomo who both share numerous world dance tittles and are also world class competitive dance judges. AND they are amazing, detailed, technical instructors sharing their desire to bring top notch dance to North County.
Modern, clean, and spacious. The dance floor is beautiful! I have taken lessons at other studios with multiple instructors, but my experience here is by far the best! I’ve progressed the most, and find myself motivated to continue learning and growing (even after 6 months of lessons) thanks to the environment, instructors, and facility!
Group lessons are very reasonably priced, and private lessons are worth the investment :-)
A variety of classes paired with multiple, quality instructors… GO visit! Try a group class, ask questions, attend a weekend dance night! Just go!

I’ve been dancing many years. This studio probably has the best floor (large and no poles) in San Diego County. Giacommo and Melissa are excellent teachers — the best in San Diego County and some of the best in the country. Melissa was the U.S. Latin Champion with her prior partner, and she and Giacomo were the Italian champions and world finalists. They also have top level smooth/​standard (waltz, tango, foxtrot, etc.), west coast swing, and argentine tango teachers. There are parties on Friday nights, and I think one Friday party each month is free.

Absolutely top-​rate instruction from Melissa and Giacomo and beautiful facility, you won’t find better! We are lucky to have these teachers and facility in North County!

So happy to find a new Ballroom and Latin Dance — (and much more) studio in Carlsbad. Great large new flooring. Plenty of room. Very pleasant and cordial owners. No pressure to sign– up for series of costly lessons!

World class coaches, super nice large dance floor, and very welcoming fun atmosphere. Whether you’re trying to learn a bit of dancing for social purposes or you’re a competitive dancer trying to perfect your technique, this is the place to go.
The owners are world class dancers who made the world finals and are a very nice fun couple and great teachers. All the other coaches are also very helpful and nice.
Overall, while you get quality world class coaching, you also get a super friendly environment to have some fun and socialize.
And with their new monthly membership system, I can go to all the classes during the week and the dance parties on Fridays.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

I recently have had the opportunity to be trained by the professionals at this studio, which runs like a real dance academy. The experience is incredible, and the benefits come in many different ways.
When Sabrina Moretti coaches my wife and I, she provided *focused and relentless attention* on us, which is key to help improve our postures and techniques. We now could not only dance better together, but also look better together. This is something we only got through personal lessons and never through regular group classes.
One of the *most important* factor while personally dancing with the pro is that the pro can fix the kind of problem which could not be detected by simply watching me dance. The pro can actually *feel* the wrong muscles which I use and helps correct the problem. On the other hand, I could feel the pro’s high energy level and blinding speed, which helped me raise my own to the correct level and speed. Again, these are things I could only get by dancing directly with the pro and not through normal group classes.
Another very important factor provided by this studio is that the student gets additional inputs and reviews from other professionals, like Riccardo Papi, Giacomo Steccaglia, Melissa Dexter, etc. In fact, Melissa will personally review the student’s personal training with the pro on a regular basis, to provide her analysis of the student progress and recommendation for course of correction. This is important no matter whether the student is going to compete or not. It is simply good training by a real dance school.
There are so many benefits I have enjoyed so far from this studio, and I am glad to be part of this studio.

Man, oh man, did I have a good workout. Took the Figure 8 class here, which is a dance fitness class. If you’ve done Zumba or Jazzercise, it’s similar but SUPER challenging. The pace is super fast, very high energy and with plenty of jumping, push ups and burpies in between all the ballroom dance inspired routines.
Give it a try… your abs will thank you!!! Hello six pack in training!
The studio is in an industrial area, so it seemed less welcoming to me. It feels like it’s in the middle of nowhere. But the teachers are enthusiastic about what they do + it’s über fun to be adventurous, learn something new you haven’t tried before and be on your way to that toned and strong dancer’s body!
