What is Stroller Strides®?

Stroller Strides® is a stroller-​based fitness program designed for moms with little ones. Each 60-​minute, total body workout incorporates power walking, strength, toning, songs and activities. Certified fitness instructors offer a variety of fun class formats both indoors and outdoors. All locations also offer a free Plum Moms Club so moms can form lasting friendships with other moms through organized playdates, moms’ nights out, and activities for the whole family.

History

Established in 2010.

Lisa Druxman created Stroller Strides in 2001 after the birth of her baby. With over 1,300 locations nationwide, it offers moms an opportunity to get in shape, meet other moms and have fun with their baby. Since then, we have released Fit4Baby, our prenatal fitness class and Body Back, our workout for any stage of motherhood. All of our programs give women the «Strength for Motherhood» and together create FIT4MOM.

I am a So Cal native, raised in the North County. I am married to an amazing man and we have four children. After spending years in the corporate world, then several more years as an Athletic Trainer for a local high school, I decided it was time to be a work-​from-​home mommy. The FIT4MOM franchise allows me to be home with our children and still contribute to my family without compromise. What’s more is I get to make an impact on the community in a way that is often life-​changing. There’s nothing like being able to connect with other moms and helping them stay fit — physically and emotionally!

This group is great! I started going when my baby was 8 weeks old and it is great to exercise and get advice from other moms. The instructors are knowledgable and able to modify exercises if your pregnant or just had a baby. I’m glad I have this group of moms to work out with and socialize with.

Been a Stroller Strides member for almost 2 years and I love this group! I joined when my youngest was 5 months old and this group has gotten me out of my house to be a the active and healthy mom I always wanted to be. I also have met some amazing moms who have gotten me through all the tough times of motherhood. And not only have I lost over 35 pounds but just finished my very first half marathon a couple weeks ago. I owe it to the amazing instructors and also the mom’s who encourage and support each other.
The workouts are designed to go as difficult or as easy as you feel comfortable with. You run or walk to each station to keep baby/​kiddies in the stroller happy and at each station is a circuit workout. After about 45 minutes class ends normally near a playground/​park where it finishes with a killer ab workout and stretching. After class the kids run to play while the moms get to have much needed adult conversations. Every week after class theres a playgroup for the kids and every month there’s a mom’s night out. Again I LOVE this group!

Fit4Mom/​StrollerStrides is fantastic! As a mother of 2, this class has saved my sanity! I get a great workout in the best gym ever (outdoors!) as well as a great support system of other moms while my kids get to play with a great group if kids! I highly recommend this to all moms!

Can’t say enough amazing things about SS!!! The classes are perfect for all fitness levels of Mommas and kiddos of all ages. The instructors are such great motivators for you to do YOUR best. It’s always nice to meet other moms like you going through all stages of motherhood and raising babies. I love how much weight AND inches I’ve lost thanks to the classes.

I joined Stroller Strides/​Fit4Mom North Coast in April, and I have been hooked since my first class! I’ve been pregnant the whole time I’ve been a part of it, and it’s been great to find a workout that I can easily modify to what my body allows. At the same time, I know that once the baby comes, it will be wonderful for kicking my booty back into pre-​pregnancy shape.
Even more important to me, though, is the connections I’ve made with these ladies. It’s a fantastic group of real people, who want to take care of themselves while spending time with their kids — and having a way to accomplish both of those which is a rare thing to find. I see myself being a part of this group for a very long time to come!
