Very relaxed, never any pressure to make a sale. Always helpful and knowledgable. Bought my first guitar here back in the day and still go here for strings, set up and music supplies. Now my kids love going here to see all the Ukes and get music books for the piano and guitar. This place invites you to take a guitar, take a seat and strum which I really like. They don’t have a huge inventory yet what they do have covers the spectrum for beginner to serious player. It seems to change frequently and they get some really cool stuff in. The prices are spot on with big box stores even cheaper on some guitars. I live in Oceanside yet when I need a single e string for my guitar I drive right past Dusty’s and the Music Center and some other shops till I get to Carlsbad and buy my string from Giacoletti Music. I spend more money in gas than the cost of a new set of strings but to me it is worth it. Friendly, fair, perfect service and a welcoming atmosphere that invites you back again and again. I’ve been bringing my guitars and buying music items here for close to two decades. I admit I have strayed along the way and been to Guitar Center(never again for service) or Guitar Trader or Dusty’s but every time I have it only reaffirms why I love Giacoletti in Carlsbad so much. My kids are at the age where they are ready for piano, guitar and vocal lessons so I am excited to take them here. As my family grows Giacoletti’s is there to support all our music needs. Thanks guys! I hope someday my grand kids will be able to shop there.

I learned to play faster than I expected! I was 45 years old when I first tried to learn to play the guitar and failed. Well… that was with a different place than Giacoletti’s. After a few feeble tries to learn, I joined Giacoletti’s and with in no time, I was playing music(and it really sounded like music). Within a few months I played my first open mic at Café Panini and within a year I started preforming live with Free Beer(the band). The entire Giacoletti staff is amazing. Never once have I felt intimated and they are always willing to answer any question. I would recommend Giacoletti Music Center to anyone!

My daughter has been taking Piano lessons for just over a year with Mr Phillip, and she has been learning to play well. We started classes upon the recommendation of another friend that has had her kids taking classes here for over 3 years. Giacolletti is a very good music school with good teachers and they also organize 2 yearly recitals for the students at the Museum of Making Music. The recitals are well organized and divided in multiple sessions, which is good because they are not overly long. They also have guitar, drums, violin and voice lessons, I know this because I have seen the students at the recitals.

Awesome local music store. Bought my first guitar in 2004 there. Huge ukulele selection, tons of books. A great place to pick up a anything you need to jam.

3.5 stars. Giacoletti’s is a small ukulele and guitar store. In comparison to a big chain store like Guitar Center, Giacloetti’s offers a more personal experience when shopping for a guitar or ukulele. The only downfall of being a smaller store is the lack of variety in their inventory. I appreciate the personal experience and knowing that the gentlemen I was speaking with had over 20 years with the guitar. I only wish they offered different brands and lower prices or at least specials.

I have been a fan of Giacolettis forever! I have taken music lessons there over the years and am an accomplished Musician. I have purchased any and ALL of my Guitars and strings/accessories there. I am always treated with respect. My favorite part of going to Giacolettis is that I am always greeted by my first name. I send students there to learn and I send everyone who asks me, ‘Where to purchase a guitar” there. My Guitar Instructors, Will and CindyLee are both accomplished Musicians who I feel so lucky to have had as teachers. I adore Roy who has run Giacolettis probably well over thirty years. His memory is remarkable and he remembers every single guitar he has ever sold. Lovely Gentleman, who is honest, kind and a great Musician himself. LOVE Giacolettis… EXCELLENT store. I will always purchase from them instead of the huge Guitar chains. I love the small town feel and I support our businesses here in Carlsbad, my beautiful City.

Was in looking for a first guitar for my 9 year old. They were super helpful and knowledgable, not pushy at all. We’ll be back for sure!!!

This is the place to go for a ukulele in the home town. I bought my first there, and it’s a nice quality Kala with(as everyone tells me) great strings– the main reason I bought it. The employees are very knowledgeable and helpful. Tons of songbooks if you’re just learning. They’ve also got a great selection of other instruments and their accessories– specifically, guitars.
