«I first met Brent at a resort where I manage the marketing and we connected on Facebook. Over the months which followed, I observed daily interaction between Brent and his clients in my newsfeed and saw in Brent a real hustle for those he served. I’m not sure which he has more of, energy or love for the business, but he found his calling. I approached Brent in late 2015 with a need to buy a home in North County, but there was very little on the market and homes were getting gobbled up fast with multiple offers. When I reached out to Brent, he responded in what seemed like a matter of seconds, and he advised me on the purchase process, connected me with his lender, and we sat down to go over the features which were important to me in a home. Working with Brent was really interesting, as I never saw him with a tablet or sheet of paper. He just listens and remembers everything.
Brent got busy showing me properties and when I found the one I wanted, the agent told him it was too late and that the seller and buyer had come to terms and it was too late. Brent very carefully took the listing agent through a series of questions and advised her of my qualifications and that if the seller would work with us, the deal would surely close and would be a positive experience. As it turned out, Brent advised the agent on how to retract a counter offer out to the other buyer and make the negotiation what he said was a „multiple“ which would allow us to enter the mix and step into the negotiation. Brent would send me texts throughout the process with encouraging notes such as, „We’re playing to win“ and „Hang on, I think we’ve got this.“ He clearly advised me on every step in the process and then the exciting phone call came: „Sitka, we got the home! Congratulations!“
Throughout the escrow, Brent connected me with home inspectors, reviewed all documentation with me and advised me carefully on the repairs request and what he thought he could get the seller to agree to and what not to request. He attended all meetings and clearly looked out for me at every opportunity. He also stayed in touch with the lender and helped me navigate some new requirements which made the loan process more difficult. And when it came time to close, you’ve never seen anyone with a bigger smile when he appeared to hand me the keys! I’ve watched several friends who were in the market at the same time to buy a home still striking out and have now told them about Brent.
It has now been four months since I closed escrow and a couple of times I’ve needed Brent and he was just as quick at responding as before I was a client. He’s offered to help me tackle an issue with the HOA and even helped me set up a special number at the gated entry so it could ring my cell. I’m happy to say that my experience with Brent was five stars and then some, and I can see why so many people choose to trust him with their home purchase or sale. Thanks Brent!»

Counting our Blessings from 2013
This time of the year I like to count my Blessing from the prior year. One of the greatest gifts we received in 2013 was working with Brent Humpherys and Humpherys Homes & Estates! This story started back in 2012 when my father was diagnosed with terminal cancer and our lives were thrown into chaos. We were told he only had a few months to live and started praying he for more time with him. In early 2013 we received a notice from our first mortgage company (a private lender) saying our payments would be going up in January 2014 by $ 1000 a month. We were already paying over $ 3000 a month and were completely upside down in our loans (two private lenders).
With the uncertainty of my father’s condition and the expense this may put on our family we started looking for solutions. I know Brent and his family personally but never had the occasion to use his services. I cannot say enough about what Brent did for us. From the first meeting, his knowledge and professionalism shined through. He was not concerned about what he could do but what OUR NEEDS were, and wanted to hear our story. We started working toward Short Selling our home of 10 years, which was a very painful decision and Brent empathized with our situation.
Everyone else we talked to said the only way this would happen was to stop making payments on our house and go into default. This was not something we were comfortable with because we have excellent credit. Brent was the only person who told us absolutely DO NOT stop making payments because he was confident he could get the deal done with the RIGHT BUYER, under the RIGHT TERMS, and WITHOUT ruining our credit. (AND HE DID)
We listed our house going with Brent’s expert market analysis and in 7 days we had over 10 offers. This started what we thought would be a 9 month process. Brent was a true professional, whatever road block stood in his way, he knew just how to address and overcome and see it to completion. He worked day and night (except Sundays, which is his family day) to close our home sale. We were treated as if we were his only client even though he working with multiple families during this time.
I am happy to say not only did Brent successfully negotiate the sale of our home with two private lenders, but did it without additional cost to ourselves or the buyers and in 6 months. No one thought this could be done, except for Brent! Because our close happened so quickly we needed to find a home to rent with very specific requirements as we were moving my father in with us. Karen on Brent’s team took over the task of finding us a home in record time!
Brent and Karen, you are truly a Blessing to us and have changed our lives! We no longer have the stress and financial burden of our home and are able to enjoy my father for as long as God will let us!

My original review disappeared, and Brent made such an impact on me it’s worth the time to write another one. A little over a year ago, I hired Brent to short sell my condo in Pacific Beach. Within 48 hours, Brent had massaged a wonderful relationship with my bank all while managing multiple offers. Throughout the transaction, Brent was a consistent joy to work with. Yes, his expertise and knowledge is incredible, but he made what could have been a stressful experience enjoyable and fun. Rumor has it Short Sales are a nightmare, but I never experienced a bad moment. I have since referred friends to Brent, and I will continue to do so because he truly cares about his clients and has their best interest at heart.

Brent is such a gentleman, that takes the time to care about each of his many clients AND their families. He is nothing like the majority of the agents out there who are just trying to make a buck without investing physical, mental and emotional time into each and every client.
I am amazed that he has the emotional ware-​with-​all to go through the home selling and buying process with each client. I have learned that it is quite an emotional roller coaster! Brent was always in my corner, cheering me on when needed and more often than not calming me down when needed :)
If you are looking for an agent that respects your family values as much as he does his own — Brent is your guy! Brent will fight for you and work on your behalf relentlessly during working hours, but when Sunday comes along — know that Brent powers down and is cherishing family time. You can’t help but respect him for that! And come Monday morning he is rearing to go :)

Brent has been a wonderful blessing for selling our condo and now for purchasing our next home. He was referred to us by a dear friend whom Brent had sold her condo just months before. Before we even realized we were going to be selling our condo to purchase a larger space, she told us about Brent. Then once we found out we were expecting our first child she had mentioned him at least two more times and insisted we use him.
We had a sub par experience when we bought our condo through another agent, so we were really looking for someone who had not only our best interest in mind but cared about their work. Brent is just that, he is compassionate and caring and you can really tell he values his clients.
Selling our condo proved easier than finding a new home. But, Brent has been patient and willing to fight for us to get us in to our next home. Its been a little hard in todays market with so little inventory. I also must mention that we are in San Diego proper and he is out of Carlsbad. He makes the trip down here once or twice a week from when we started looking five weeks ago and is happy to see us every time. Even saying «hi baby» to my tummy after greeting us! He has made this experience comfortable and never leaves us in the dark or wondering. He is also very patient and thorough with what seems to be my never ending barrage of questions! Always on point with communicating with whatever our needs may be.
It’s great to have someone represent you that feels like a long lost friend and genuinely cares about your best interest and isn’t in the business of making quick cash. Plus, knowing that once we get an offer accepted and are in escrow, we know he is going to be just as excited as we are.

Moving from WA to CA we found ourselves in need of a real estate professional that could help us find a new home. Some good friends from the area recommended that we give Brent a call and promised that he could deliver. They were correct! With the ever changing world of real estate and the mess of banking/​lending issues, having someone that knows how to navigate the waters is absolutely critical. Brent proved his worth as we found ourselves in love with a home that was represented by a less than stellar agent that didn’t know a lick about what he was doing. For all intents and purposes Brent had to teach this joker how to do his job.
My wife and I were very encouraged by Brent’s professionalism, passion for his craft and great sense of humor. If we find ourselves in need to move again we will gladly give him a call.

«The great thing about Brent is his ability to be your advocate. He is a fighter and is probably the hardest working agent I have met. He juggles million dollar homes as well as $ 300k condos like mine. He was able to navigate the difficult task of a short sale with a loan that had a first and a 2^nd both from 2 different banks. Due to my first failure of a short sale my 1^st lien was sent to Seterus (a loan servicer) while my 2^nd loan stayed with Chase. This short sale was very difficult because we needed to have both the 1^st and 2^nd lien holders to agree on the value and price that they would get. Brent was very good at keeping the pressure on them to deliver what is required of them. Banks seem to be very good at dragging their feet and losing things. Brent was very good at using technology to provide quick response and documentation. He is tenacious at demanding a response from the banks and he is willing to go to any length to get them to respond, even soliciting help from local municipal leaders or his connections with Chase Bank. I will admit we had some harrowing moments when I wasn’t sure what would happen. But in the end, Brent was able to get all the T’s crossed and I’s doted and close the deal. I am very happy with Brent’s work and I recommend Brent, particularly with difficult short sale. He also does regular home sales too.
The background on how I came to use Brent is also interesting. I originally met Brent when we both had attended the same church. We lost touch until we met again through Facebook. I have been following Brent on Facebook with his quirky comments on his daily activity and he has shown himself to be quite adept on the social networking landscape.
A couple of years back we were given an opportunity to move to our dream house which we could not pass up. We wanted to sell our condo but the timing was bad since this was when the housing market collapsed. So we attempted a short sale with another agent but failed. I decided to hold onto my condo until either I could no longer afford to own 2 homes unless the market improved. Well the market didn’t improve and 2012 was the year we had to sell our condo since the loan was about to adjust and if we waited any longer we may not be able to get tax forgiveness for the short sale.
Brent helped me earlier with finding a loan broker for my primary home that I am living now so I asked him if he knew anyone that specialized in short sales and he said he was able to do that. So I trusted him to complete the short sale and he originally warned us that it would take about 6 months at the very least and we understood that. That was back in March of 2012 and now it is September and he was able to deliver in 6 months. Not too bad.»
