The restaurant was small and busy for its size. The tables were taken or dirty. The menu wasn’t on the wall except for the kids meals and the happy hour selections. I finally found the menu next to the registers. We ended up eating at an outside table that was covered in dirt. Went in with $ 20 and couldn’t feed three of us. Kid had chicken strip meal for $ 6.95. It came with one chicken strip, a piece of Texas toast, white gravy, fries, a drink, and a kid scoop of ice cream. The other combos were about $ 8 and up. The fries were a little soggy and greasy but overall the meal was tasty. Because of cost my husband and I got ice cream; one banana split and one banana royale. We got different flavors of ice cream. We both enjoyed our treats. The service was so so. They weren’t very friendly and they got my kids drink wrong. Overall the ice cream was good, food was okay, facility was disappointing, service was so so. Because of cost I wouldn’t go back for food, just ice cream.

Burger and patty melt are good. Ice cream is okay, though there are plenty of favors to choose from. The service is excellent.

If I could give this place minus 5 I would. Very DIRTY. Could feel my feet sticking to the floor. Overpriced at $ 8 for two single scoops. No prices posted which makes it seem like they charge what they want when they want. Ice cream had freezer burn. Big sign in front door says«we reserve the right to refuse service to anyone»… Not the friendliest welcome. Don’t waste your money, I’d rather get sonic down the street. Should have just walked out.

Ice cream selection is very good. Served at just the right temperature. Wife said the Butter Pecan was fantastic! I didn’t try the burgers but other people seemed to be enjoying theirs.

Filthy. Surprised to see that this place somehow has a 4 star rating. Standards aren’t very high in Carlsbad I guess. Cleaning is definitely not a priority here. Dirty, dingy, dead flies all over the window sills. I’d stay away personally. And the fried food I got was clearly cooked in very used oil as there were nice little off color chunklets attached to my food, I suppose probably from several day fried pieces of other foods floating in the oil. I’d love to know what their health inspection looks like. Can’t be good.

I had to stop based solely on the name. It’s just so cute. I ordered the tiramasu ice cream and it had actual ladyfingers in my ice cream. Sooo good. Some of the best ice cream I’ve had in some time.

This place is really cute. I’m normally kind of snobby and prefer ice cream at a local place to be made in-house, but the flavor and quality of their ice cream was good. They have a LOT of flavor options. Expect to spend a little time figuring out what you want. My only complaint in regards to that is they didn’t label most of the ice creams, so it was a lot of «What is that one? and that one?» and so on. One thing I really liked is they make their own waffle cones! The waffle cone was delicious, and obviously fresh. There seemed to be just the tiniest hint of cinnamon, which paired well with the ice cream. Delicious. They do appear to have food, but I cannot comment on that as I didn’t eat there. The seating outside was absolutely lovely, as was the service. When I have to go back to Carlsbad for work again, I will definitely be trying out their food.

Good ice cream, including some original favors worth trying. Eskimo kisses is very good if you like coconut and chocolate. More cowbells was chocolate heaven. Good service at the counter.

Had the burger and waffle fries. Burger was cooked to order and not dry… one of the best I have had in town. The waffle fries are very addictive, so you might get another order if you are feeling hungry. Limited seating area indoors(I think I saw four booths) but they also have tables in a covered seating area outside. Service was good – you order at the counter – and there is plenty of ice cream for dessert!

If you’re an ice cream vendor, chances are you’ll find my family there at least once, more, if you got tasty stuff, during our travels. Kaleidoscoops, although not homemade(I forget the name of source), ice creams here had really great flavor. Good portions. Service was friendly. Samples were given with no drama. There is even a drive thru! We tried a few flavors: «Nutty coconut»: coconut ice cream with 3 different kinds of nuts. Got that both days, got others in the party to choose that, also. Yummy for sure. Love the nuts, got at least one in every bite :) «Superman»: original flavor here, my son loved it!(strawberry, lemon, blue raspberry) The flavors worked well together… tasty! «Pirate’s Booty»: another original flavor, my 3 y/o devoured it. I think it’s cookies & cream with M & M’s pieces. «Pistachio Almond»: flavorful with firm nuts, not soft/rubbery, good stuff! «Black Cherry»: tasty with a good amount of black cherries, no iciness to it. «Mocha Almond Fudge»: wifey said it was good, I particularly don’t prefer coffee flavored stuff, so I’ll take her word for it. Ice cream sandwiches are made here with a variety of flavors. My oldest enjoyed it so much, he got a second one! He had pralines & cream both times. This place was a pleasant surprise, definitely worth trying.

I haven’t had the food, but the ice cream service is ok. Their shakes are to liquid. The ice cream sundaes are really nice. They let you try as many flavors as you want. Good place to take the kids for a treat.

Kaleidoscoops, you are so much more! The burgers are delicious! You get a choice of a 6 or 8 ounce handmade patty, and it is served up with all the fixings. It is a gooey, yummy mess. If you go for the basket, you get a choice of fries, onion rings, tater tots, sweet potato fries or Texas toothpicks. How does one choose? There’s outdoor seating out front which made for a very pleasant lunch.

Carlsbad on a Sunday evening = dead zone. Our dinner options were basically McDonald’s, the Chili’s where we ate the night before, or Kaleidoscoops. Ice cream it is! So many flavors to choose from. I had a two-scoop hot fudge sundae with one scoop of moose tracks and one scoop of something that had brownies in it(gold medal, maybe?). It was amazing. An adorable shop with great ice cream. (Note: they do have actual food. Burgers, fries, chicken strips, and the like. But it was my vacation and I choose to eat ice cream for dinner. Because I could. Isn’t that supposed to be one of the few bright spots of being a grown-up?)
