History

Established in 2000.

Founder, Dr. Peter LePort, a surgeon, became interested in education when he realized there was no school that met his standards for his own two children. So he decided to do something about it and started his own school. Dr. LePort began studying the ideas of Dr. Maria Montessori for her unique approach to developing the cognitive and moral needs of the individual child, preparing them to achieve success and happiness in life.

LePort Schools is the culmination of Dr. LePort’s efforts to provide children with a superior education, one in which they develop strong fundamental skills, master challenging content, and learn to think independently. LePort Schools’ dedicated team of administrators, teachers, and educational experts have worked together for over a decade to develop and deliver an exceptional curriculum. Our unique educational approach as earned LePort Schools a reputation as a top Montessori and Private school in Southern California.

Meet the Manager

Letty R.

Manager

Ms. Letty Rising obtained her B.A. in Sociology at the UC Santa Barbara. She went on to obtain her California Multiple Subject Teaching Credential and Preliminary Administrative Credential through California State University, San Marcos. Ms. Rising obtained AMS Montessori training for ages 6 – 9, and later continued forth to earn her AMI elementary diploma and M. Ed from Loyola University in Maryland.

Ms. Letty Rising has held positions as an elementary Montessori Teacher and as a school Director, Principal and Consultant with several different Montessori communities over the years. She’s also helped create and direct a public Montessori charter school program in Southern California.

Letty has gained a deep understanding of the developmental needs of students from infancy through high school. She cares deeply about building strong, personal relationships with both her students and their families.
