The Miniature Engineering Craftsmanship Museum displays many hundreds of examples of fine metal and wood working craftsmanship at the small end of the size scale. Featured are over 250 working miniature internal combustion engines, over 150 working steam and Stirling engines, ship, aircraft, auto and construction equipment models, miniature arms (guns, knives), small machine tools, clocks and watches and fine engraving. Emphasis is on fine work done by single individuals rather than factories, and each craftsman is honored with a history when possible.
History
Established in 1997.
The museum started as an on-line museum at www.craftsmanshipmuseum.com, where it still has a big presence. Over the years we received a number of significant donations, prompting us to spend several million dollars on a new building to put them in for the public to enjoy. As of February 8, 2013 the museum has been open 2 years in its new location. It started in 2006 in a smaller building a few blocks away. There is room to grow in the new location, and new exhibits are being added almost weekly.
