Ragz Dressware

So glad I decided to pop in here to kill time until my hair appointment next door. I have a rehearsal dinner to go to later this week, so I thought I’d see if they had anything cute to wear. I immediately found a black dress (what I ALWAYS go for) and went to try it on. Ashely asked me what I was shopping for, and when I mentioned that I wanted to try something different she asked if she could bring me some things to try. Everything she brought was adorable, and I probably would have bought it all if it had fit. I decided on a hot pink flowy cotton dress with a gray rose print. It’s amazing and I can’t wait to wear it on Friday. Thank you so much Ashley! I’ll definitely be shopping here again.

Since I discovered how awesome their clothes and shoe selection is, I am absolutely hooked. At first I was a little put off on the sales associates pulling multitudes of clothing for me to try on, but I found it to be so helpful. My goal has been to come out of my mundane fashion hell and try new styles. I am very resistant to change and scoffed on many occasions on items pulled that I would have never thought twice about looking at let alone trying on. I have learned to go with it when these items are passed/​recommended to me it has resulted in so many purchases I am embarrassed to admit but my closet has never been more diverse! I get excited just looking at the many options I now have to choose from. The stylists are always so sweet and right there alongside you to lend their opinions and insights. I never leave empty handed! This review of course extends to Blues and Shoes and The Beat clothing all located within a block of one another but with just different twist of styles to meet the needs of all sorts of fashionistas. Shop local and enjoy the experience.

Ragz is one of my favorite boutiques. The girls there are super friendly, and I always have a fun time playing dress up with them. I love that they take the time to style you as well! They have a really nice selection and the prices are definitely reasonable.

I have no idea if I would have liked this store because the sales staff was constantly talking to me, distracting me from looking at anything, and Much too pushy!!! I felt so turned off by the constant chatting that I left.

Had a great experience with Leslie. She was very helpful in assisting my fiancé to find boots and long socks for our snow trip tomorrow. We love coming to all of the stores that are associated with this one (blues shoes) because the girls are always helpful and the prices are reasonable. Leslie even gave us her card and offered to set up an appointment to pull shoes and outfits for my fiancé! We love the customer service here and enjoy supporting the local stores.

For years in college one of my best friends would answer «ragz» when asked where she got all of her cute clothes. In San Jose that didn’t mean much but it was a first stop when I visited San Diego. This place is amazing! I didn’t expect all of the help and tips that I received from the staff, I also did y expect to be given 50+ things to try on after finding just a few on my own. The staff will look at you and the things that you chose for yourself and find more in your style and things that they think may look good on you. I’ve only been able to go twice but I’ve loved it both times and now some of my favorite things are those that I may not have even chosen for myself!

These girls need a class on being more of a better salesman. I could definitely tell he fakery and desperation of trying to start a conversation or complimenting me just to awkwardly start the sales pitches and clothes recommendations. If you’re going to recommend an article of clothing at least know style and style to the individuals taste.

Was so excited to take my daughter there when she was visiting for the weekend. Really cute clothes and reasonable prices. Down side the associates hound you to death putting so many clothes and shoes in dressing room it’s overwhelming. The associate literally stood outside the dressing room the entire time my daughter was trying on clothes asking every 30 seconds «what are you trying on now?» As I sat there waiting, customers ventured out of dressing room and we’re told how cute they looked in something and clearly that wasn’t the case. Oh dear!
Pay the girls hourly not commission and suggest putting sensors on clothing so customers don’t feel like they’re stealing from you! It was so bad I don’t think we’ll venture there again. Sorry Ragz.

Cute shop and reasonable prices! I bought a bunch of tops and some shorts from this place. The only down side is that the sales associates literally don’t leave you alone. Constantly asking you what you’re trying on and throwing more and more clothes and shoes into your dressing room. To be honest, it was so overwhelming I almost left but loved the clothes so much! Just be prepared for all of the sales associates to attack you when you walk in. Such cute clothes but annoying and pushy sales techniques.

Came in today with my daughter for a post prom outfit. Decent clothing line that my daughter wanted to see. Especially nice was when we were greeted by a nice young lady named Rachel (?) who made us feel welcome. Turns out her and my daughter go to the same high school. The other young ladies in the store were nice but not as helpful.
didn’t purchase anything this time, but we’ll be back.

While Ragz usually has nice clothes with decent prices, there is one thing that keeps me from this place like the plague– the customer service. Let me give you some examples of a few incidents that happened to me last time I shopped here:
1. Pushy salesgirls insists on seeing what I’m trying on, which is uncomfortable. Happened every single time I shopped here. She keeps yelling into my dressing room– «Are you ready yet? Show me what you’ve got on, girl!» Instead of complying I tell her that I’m still changing, but she still doesn’t take the hint or leave me alone.
2. When I was changing, she comes to my dressing room with a pair of the strangest pants I’ve ever seen– vibrant orange, loose (bell bottoms?), with kaleidoscope patterns in vivid colors. Very John Lennon/​George Harrison style, but too much for me. I politely told her no thank you. She kept persisting, so finally I said they were «too bold for me.» She responds, «What do you mean? They’re your style. Your style is… quirky!» Gee, thanks. «Quirky» is not the look I’m going for.
3. Another sales girl approached my changing room asking me my shoe size. «No thanks,» I said, «I’m not looking for shoes today, I have enough right now.» She would not take no for an answer. After a long time of saying «No», I finally just give in and say my shoe size (9 – 9.5). She goes, «Oh. Wow. You’ve got really big feet!» Thanks. «Well at least you probably get good deals on clearance!» –_​–
So, after many, many shopping trips to Ragz, I never came back. Maybe one day I’ll give it a try again, but there’s been too many days where I’ve gotten the worst service and just plain mean salesgirls.

I had a horrible experience with these guys. I bought shoes from there yesterday. They didn’t fit me so I tried to return them and they said no we can’t they are final sale when they didn’t give me a box for my shoes or a recite. But I will never shop here again.

Cute clothing at a reasonable price— but their «stylists» are super pushy!
I don’t like to feel like someone is breathing down my neck while I’m trying on clothes… I felt like the employees were constantly trying to sell me more than what I went in for (a few tops) — continually bringing me sandals, boots, shorts, other tops, skirts, etc. I finally had to tell her «I’m just going to try on what I picked out, thanks!» They were nice but I felt like it was super forced and they were mainly looking for commission or credit for sales… not an enjoyable shopping experience.

I was looking for something a little different for some gifts for Christmas. I drive by this place a few times a week, and have always wanted to stop by and check it out. Being it’s in Carlsbad Village, I thought it might be kind of pricey… but I was wrong.
They have a variety of clothes, shoes, accessories, scarves and hats. I was looking for scarves in particular and they had three cool ones that I bought. What I liked were that they were different than what you would get at Gap or Macy’s. Nice stuff.
Prices were really good $ 10 – 12 for scarves and $ 16 for some flats I bought for gifts. The girls working there were all very helpful and helped me pick out different things for my mom and sister. I would definitely come back, and I am sure you can find something for that woman in your life.

I’ve been shopping here for two years and I ADORE it.
Its extremely reasonable and they have a range of styles and sizes. surprisingly good quality as well for the cost. I frequently stop in for a head to toe look for a particular event or night out-​which is easy cause as you will soon find, they will dress you up till you cant take it anymore (I have a high tolerance!) Its a gem of a shop, with a sister shop & salon next door, and higher end boutique down the street. All with different vibes and items.
Word of warning: and just be prepared for this and you’ll be fine, the sales associates are instructed to treat you as if they are your stylist, meaning, while you shop, they’ll grab things that you might like and shoes and belts and jewelry and when you wonder back to your dressing room you’ll find maybe more than you bargained for. If you walk out of the dressing room sans belt someone will have a heart attack and belt the crap outta you. I personally have discovered some amazing things I wouldn’t normally buy due to this and since I’m used to it ts not biggie, If I don’t like it, I don’t buy it. Just a heads up for new customers. Its fun, but can catch some off guard.

Lets just say you get your own personal stylist — a whole outfit head to toe (necklaces&shoes&bra’s included) for a total of 100 dollars or LESS… & You’re feeling hot.
Thank you RAGZ i’ve come in here for date nights, NYE, 4^th of JULY, Clubbing… A wedding. They can dress you for them all!!!

Not a fan of this boutique… AT ALL! I have given this place plenty of opportunities to change my mind but they consistently fall short. I appreciate an attentive sales associate that gives you options and gives your fashion sense an edge but at Ragz, they thrive on the business of belittling their customers and flat out being rude. It doesn’t matter if the person walking in looks like they’ll spend $ 5 or $ 5,000, they should be greeted… period. Talking negatively about the customers that visit your store… as they are in your store, doesn’t really meet the level of professionalism that this boutique seems to gloat.

I was hesitant to write this review at first. To be perfectly honest I wanted to keep Ragz all to myself!
But I realized thats not fair. Having a small business, I need to support other small businesses in the area.
So here it is…
Ragz — how I love you. Happened to walk by on my way to Señor Grubby’s and spent about 1.5 hours in there.
Amy, the manager, was amazing! Though all the stylists are really nice and helpful.
Amy picked out outfits for me and put them in a dressing room and to be honest — I loved them all! I had a hard time deciding which NOT to buy. (because I couldn’t spend $ 400 that day!).
Great part is — the prices are VERY reasonable! A shirt is anywhere between $ 20-​$ 40 and they have jeans for as low as $ 30! Shoes and accessories are super cute too!
I have to try to come here once a month rather than once a week so I can still afford to pay the rent. LOL.
