NO PARKING. You will need to walk about ¼ mile to the entrance – day, night, weekend, or weekday. With new restaurants, gym, and movie theater all with entrances at the same spot of the mall, you will not be able to find parking nearby. Ever. Horrible planning, Westfield Mall!
The theater itself has high ticket prices and «convenience fees» for purchasing online above their already higher-​than-​normal prices. Every movie is sold out it seems and there are long lines for concessions, too.
This is the closet movie theater to where I live, but I happily drive to other theaters for a more pleasant experience.

I went here today for the first time to watch Deadpool. The seats were super comfortable and clean, and they have trays attached to the seats where you can put your food. Plus, they sell alcohol. The seating is preselected so buy your tickets online. Definitely coming back here again!

Although this theater is nice, their customer service definitely needs some work. My wife and I went to see Deadpool today and we unable to watch it because the server that plays the movie crashed. That’s fine, I get it. There are things that are out of their control, but when they went to recoup us for the cost of tickets (they gave us two vouchers for another time/​day) and the cost of food, they were rude. I will never be going to this theater again.

This was my first time checking out a Regal Cinema with couch seating! I’ve been to AMC’s with couch seating and I must say Regal’s wasn’t too bad. I ended up sitting in Row C. Although the seat was comfortable, it was still too close to the screen. I would recommend sitting farther back (after Row D) since the theater is quite large, unlike AMC couch seating theaters.
The line for food was extremely long. Luckily soon after, other lines began to open up. It was still packed, so make sure to get there early if you’re planning on getting food.

I bought tickets for the wrong time & the employee returned my money with no hassle. I’m embarrassed but they were nice.

If you get tickets from Costco or tickets were given to you, then you can not book your seat on line. You have to go in to do it and pay $ 1.50 in addition to your ticket for service fee. If you do it on line you have a $ 3.00 fee you have to pay on top of purchasing your tickets. If you don’t do any of this and just come to the theater and buy tickets with the thought of going in and sitting down you are at risk of not getting a good seat as those seats have most likely been taken by people that have already purchased and held the seat.
REALLY INCONVENIENT!!!
Also the manager was rude, curt and unfriendly.
We will spread the word about this place and never go back!!!

I loved everything. It’s great to take my kids too because of the cozy chairs. Going today after a while and am excited for the bar!

Beautiful movie theater right here in Carlsbad! The seats are preselected so I recommend buying your tickets in advance. This theater gets pretty packed especially when there are new movies out. I came here to see James Bond and bought my tickets a few days in advance and it was almost full!
They have leather reclining seats which are super comfortable and trays for your beverages and food. They even sell beer and wine here! It’s really funny actually… they give you a wristband and cap you at just 3 drinks during your movie (but who would really have more at the movies?!).

I’m so happy to see theaters in this area jumping on the «luxury» bandwagon. I’d pay double to be able to reserve seats in advance and sit on leather (wipable) chairs that comfortably recline, but these tickets are only about 1.5x the cost of other, non luxury theaters. I actually far prefer this theater to Cineapolis because you’re not interrupted by waiters constantly walking up and down the rows.
Minus 1 star for three reasons:
1. There should be an attendant at the beginning of every show helping old, lost people find their seats. Assigned seating is a new concept to some, and it’s irritating to be distracted by people shuffling around once the movie has begun.
2. You should be able to reserve seats online using discounted tickets through AAA or Scrip programs. I’m willing to pay the convenience fee, but as it is now, discounted ticket vouchers can only be redeemed at the theater itself. Boo.
3. Unless they want to start their own espresso bar, there should be an exception made for bringing Peets coffee into the theater from next door.
Otherwise, what a great improvement to the Plaza Camino Real mall!

Best theater out there, worth the extra dollars!
For only a few dollars more than a regular movie cinema, you can get a theater with the most comfortable and awesome recliner leather chairs, 4K movie quality, and even the option to drink a beer with your movie. What more can you ask for? I have a movie membership that lets me pick any movie at any theater, and I always choose this cinema even though it’s a drive. I sometimes even come 3 times a week. It also helps to get a Regal rewards card to get you free stuff like popcorn, drinks, and movie tickets.
Tip: I believe there are also student and military discounts with I.D. so that might help save you a few bucks.

What can I say… other than I LOVE THIS THEATER! I love that you can reserve your seats online, I love that we can grab a beer to bring in with us. The chicken tenders and fries are really good & taste restaurant quality. The popcorn seems dry to me with more kernels than I’d like. Tried it twice. The seats are SO COMFY! There is so much space between the seats that you forget anyone is sitting next to you. I always jump for joy when we get to go have a movie day here! :D

This is the best addition to Carlsbad in years! My husband and I were not frequent movie goers, because at 6’4″ and 300 pounds, regular movie seats just don’t cut it for him. For awhile, we were going to Cineopolis, until I had to start taking out 401k loans to afford those date nights… Regal 12 is a perfect mix of the two! We now visit several times a month.
Of course, reservation of seats is the best part. Running late? No problem, your seats will be there for you whenever you arrive (but really, don’t miss the previews!). Nothing beats a leather recliner! It is really a treat to enjoy a movie in such comfort, and makes it worth the few $$ more you pay to go here. I almost always buy my tickets on Fandango. Just a tip with that, in order to get your Regal rewards, you have to have a physical ticket printed to get your reward to print out. You can do this by visiting the box office or the self service kiosk and scanning your fandango confirmation to have a ticketed printed out. Don’t want to miss out on the free soda or popcorn!
Plenty of parking and CVS across the street for all your candy needs!

I love this new theater, you get the comfort of Cinepolis with the price tag. They have the lounging chairs, so you can watch the movie in comfort. You do have to reserve your seats ahead of time or take your chances. And their theaters hold a lot more people than Cinepolis.
Do have to say the concession stand is a bit pricey but I guess all movie theaters are that way now. They even serve beer and wine now. So if you want a drink with your movie you can get one.
The theater is always clean. They have a 12 theaters there so lots of movie options. And you can go to Costco to buy discount tickets for Regal.

It’s a nice theatre and I’d go 3 ½ stars if I could. The staff is helpful and there’s a lot of em. Reserving reclining seats ahead of time is always a bonus. But… last time I went my seat didn’t recline. Not a deal breaker but dang it! Everyone else looked more comfortable than me!
My MAIN GRIPE? They sell wine and beer now. Sweet! Except we got two glasses (cups), of wine that didn’t total a normal single glass pour in any other establishment! And we had to wait a few minutes until someone of age could come over and barely pour us some wine. I regret not refusing it or asking for more now. If it were a bar, there would be no tip.
We’ll go back and may try to order wine again, but I’m ready to ask for my money back if it happens again Regal people. Not cool.

Cheaper and less luxurious than Cineopolis, but they still have assigned seating, which is nice particularly for busy movies. I came here to see Star Wars and reserved my tickets 2 weeks in advance for a New Year’s Day showing. We were the fourth row from the screen, which was very close, but the chairs recline back almost to horizontal, so it ended up being okay.
For the price, it is probably the best deal in North County. I’ll definitely come here again.
Parking is at the mall and gets busy — Pedestrians are in a danger zone for sure!

Overall Summary: Better than expected experience at this theater which is a little pricier due to the recliner reserved seating, but worth the splurge at times for a good movie. Yeah, the mall is still outdated and in need of some updates, but this fresh new theater is on the right track to success. The stadium full recliner seating is super nice and comfortable, and the concession stands offer more than just popcorn and hotdogs, they have burgers and chicken sandwiches, and Beer and Wine!!! I like that you can bring your drinks into any of the theaters and not restricted to the 21+ assigned theater showings at other competing recliner theaters (e.g. Cineoplis). The assigned seating is fine, so you can show up right at movie start time and not worry about finding a seat, but many of the theaters are pretty small, so plan early to reserve your seat or else you might be stuck in the first two rows which are neckbreakers. I don’t like that Regal forces you to buy online tickets through Fandango which charges a $ 3 service «convenience» fee on an already high ticket price. You can avoid the fee if you purchase in person at the box office, but then you need to get there early to snag a good seat (thus negating my first point about flexibility). I guess you can get there early and get your ticket, then go into the mall and shop or eat before the movie. I’ll add this theater to my rotation when I desire the full recliner drinking experience.

Great movie theatre and a cheaper alternative to Cinepolis, without the pretentiousness. There are leather reclining seats, trays for your food, and yes they sell alcohol here as well! You can order from the concession stand or you can have it delivered to your seat, either way, it reminds me a lot of Cinepolis, just without the costly price of Cinepolis.
I will say that it’s pricier than the Regal Cinema in Oceanside, but this is because this has leather reclining seats and all the frills that the Oceanside one does not have. I was able to enjoy a movie in leather reclining seats at $ 9 a ticket and not $ 21 as you would at Cinepolis.

I am saddened by Regal’s desire to charge a «premium fee» of $ 1.50 per ticket for seeing movies at the Carlsbad location when using the blue Regal passes from Costco. Box office prices have also gone up +$ 1 compared to my original post. The movie theater still comes in handy for reserved seating and more legroom on longer run-​times. The value has decreased though so I will be visiting here less. Comparable theater is AMC in La Jolla which has reserved seating, recliners, 21+ showings, economy showings of $ 7.49 and does not charge an additional fee for using the AMC gold passes from Costco.

First things first, DO NOT ORDER YOUR FOOD AND HAVE IT DELIVERED TO YOUR SEAT. You will never eat it because it will never come. I was very disappointed that the cashier had promised us the food would get delivered to our seats since it was faster that way (the chicken tenders take about 4 minutes to make). We got to our seats and the movie already started without food. Sadly, we didn’t want to miss our movie so we waited until the end to tell guest services. What a bother!
But besides that mishap, this was the first time coming to this theatre since it opened so I was pretty excited! My boyfriend bought tickets ahead of time so we didn’t have to wait in line to buy them. The line was VERY LONG so I would recommend getting it. The theater is brand new so it’s very nice but there are the occasional popcorn on the floor. He got the theater with the nice reclining chairs, very much like Cinepolis so that was very cool! It is assigned seating also.
5 stars for the venue but 1 star for their food/​guest services.

Went for the first time today to see Straight Outta Compton and couldn’t have been more pleased. I made reservations a mere 3 hours in advance which, given the hype and the new release, I felt this was pretty amazing. Reserved the perfect seats and had absolutely no trouble at all.
Went straight to the self serve kiosk to print out our tickets. Then to the counter to order the husband his requisite popcorn and soda, whilst receiving exceptional service. On to the ticket dude, also friendly and helpful. Movie theatre was clean and well maintained. Only gripe was it wasn’t super easy to see the row letters on the floor but, no matter, we’re smart enough to sort ourselves out. Overall, we had a wonderful experience and will be certain to return.
