History

Established in 1929.

The Adair family started in this industry in the 1920’s. Every generation since then, has continued the trend. Great Grandma (Phyllis Adair) started Cosmetology school in the 1920’s. After she graduated, she began working in a hair salon to establish her business and her clientele. In 1936, she opened her very own Beauty College in San Bernardino, CA. She named her school «Phyllis Adair’s College of Cosmetology». Phyllis had a daughter (Maxine) and Maxine grew up to love the beauty industry herself, following her mother’s footsteps. Maxine later opened her own Salon, «Maxine’s Back Door» in Redlands, Calif. Maxine found great success with her business. To her surprise, all 3 of her children followed her lead. Her daughter (Andi Adair) became an successful manicurist, Terry, a hairstylist; and her youngest Dana as well. in 1984, Andi Adair had a daughter, whom you now have heard about, Chelsea Adair. Chelsea has been behind her chair since 2006 and now an owner of Salon Adair.
