Tanya’s Pooch Caboose

This is the first negative review I have ever written. It cost 80 $ for the worst cut my 6lb dog has ever gotten. Not only was the cut COMPLETELY uneven, it didn’t look like the ears were even touched, washed or cut. He can usually go months between cuts but after this one he looked like he needed cut right away.

Great groomers they have been grooming my grandma’s dogs for about 10 years. Super nice! Started doing my dogs and they’ve been very happy.

I love Tanya and her daughter they are really good with my animals and have been very professional. My dog’s are excited to see them and that makes me feel comfortable since my little guy Liam is scared of everything. Plus he wont stay out of the pool and gets matted really easy being a Yorkie. It’s definitely no easy task keeping him well groomed and I’ve been pleased with the way he’s turns out. Liela is an American Eskimo and she is hard to cut if you don’t go to the rite groomer. She always looks very beautiful and you can tell she’s happy after they make her all pretty. I also have her groom my long hair American curl kitten and she’s always silky soft and smells so good. Savanah loves to be groomed afterwards she comes in and rubs against us purring up a storm. We have been very happy with them and will continue to support their small family business.

She was late and she up charged me $ 20 for each dog. $ 4o extra dollars! What’s weird is that if she had issues she should have knocked on the door instead of completing the work and then laying it on me. I never would have let her do my dogs at $ 85 dollars Each.
She was late but she did call. I literally had to sit here from 1130 to 1230 her expected time and she was a Half hour late and then another hour and 15 minutes to do the dogs. And after she’s done with the dogs she tells me that they’re bigger than she thought and they had matts And she needs to charge me 20 more a dog. If we would’ve talked about this prior to her doing the job I would’ve never agreed.
I do you want to add that she did do good work and the dogs look good nothing special but good. She did not use doggy perfume which was a little disappointing but I had some so I used it. We will not be using her again.
Here is the text I sent her after she left: I just want to say again how very unprofessional it was of you to give me a quote, see my dogs, be in my yard and after you completed the dogs you up charge me $ 20 per dog. Very, very unprofessional if you are not doing a good business you might want to wonder why. try putting on a smile be more friendly and do stuff for the price you quote. I didn’t lie to you or mislead you in anyway. If you felt I did you should have mentioned it immediately.
As for you being a traveling groomer your expenses are much less then a brick-​and-​mortar facility. So that’s a bullshit excuse for up charging me so much. I’ve had Cocker spaniel’s for over 30 years and never been gouged just like that. I take my dogs to very reputable groomer the only reason I tried to you was because of the convenience. But since you were late and kept me hanging on all day from 11:30 till 1 it ended up not being very convenient and the cost definitely was not convenient.

Will sorry that u feel that way, maybe u should call Assie Pet, and get a quote, both yr dogs were matted and it is clients like yrself that make us run late not being honest about the size or condition of yr pets, sorry that u thought the price was 60 to 65, my starting rate for small dogs is 65 and we charge extra for matted dogs it was you who said you wanted to dogs to grow out so that means taking the tangles out of their legs futhermore our est of arrival was between 1130 and 1230 we can’t control traffic and unexpected accidents but you did get a call telling you we were going to be late I’m sorry you dont feel there was a smile on my face when I met you its possible when I seen your dogs that I knew they weren’t as you described, unfortunately we cant satisfies everyone and if I had to bet your cocker spaniel is more then $ 35 pounds our prices go by weight as well, and it was you who would let me explain the prices to u, as u rudly shut the door in my face, I am sure u will find something wrong with the job as well, the world is filled with people like u, thanks for your comments, and feel feel to cut and paste this on Unilocal Tanya

I thought the price was 65 because that’s what she told me after she asked dog type and weight.

I love this service! They were very professional and my dogs seemed very happy and excited! Tanya said the dogs were very well behaved and I referred her to a friend. They do so many services, its a great business! Personally, I scheduled on my day off, so there would be no hurry and the dogs were comfortable and taken care of!

I called Tanya to schedule an emergency groom. She was very helpful and scheduled my grandmother’s dog to be groomed the next morning! She gave us a time frame of when she would be there, and showed up to groom Suzy at the assisted living facility my grandma lives at. She did a wonderful job and we will definitely use her again! I’m so thankful to have found a reliable groomer who does a great job. Thanks again Tanya!

Dixon is an aggressive cat infested with fleas… until the Pooch Caboose rolled into our neighborhood. I called several mobile groomers and Tanya was the least expensive, the most knowledgable and the most confident.
She called to confirm our appt time the night before, called when she was 5 min away so we could capture Dixon and arrived right on time.
Within 30 minutes, she gave him 3 baths, de-​flead him and put on his topical flea medicine. She was able to do in 30 minutes what we’ve been unable to do in 13 years!
I recommend Tanya’s Pooch Caboose 100%!

Tanya is completely unreliable when it comes to showing up on time. This was the third time she came late… very, very late. Despite my telling her I had to leave for work she called the night before ~ at 9:30PM ~and instead of coming at 9:30AM ~ which we’d agreed upon after two OTHER changes ~ she showed up at 10:45AM. She sent her daughter to get the dogs and I asked how long it would take. I had to leave for work no later than 11:45AM. Tanya told her daughter she didn’t know. At that point I said «no.» As Tanya roared away she gave me the finger! Bad, bad, bad… do not recommend AT ALL!!! I“d actually give her MINUS STARS! Rude, inconsiderate…

Note: This was written over a year ago, and I just learned that it had not been posted. It reflects my experience at that time, and it is possible that your experience will be different.
However, it is indeed accurate as to mine.
I have had a recurring problem with this firm in terms of its owner/proprietor’s apparent lack of consideration for my time. It has been my experience that the groomers are frequently extremely late in arriving, with no phone call to update the client, perhaps being overbooked, as one told me when she arrived two hours late.
Today’s groomer said that the owner told her that she was scheduled for between 12:30 and 1, whereas we were told that she would be here about an hour earlier. Apart from that, we had been scheduled for 9AM, and received a call later, asking if the appointment could bechanged to 11AM, and that it could possibly be as late as 11:30. Fine. However, the grromer arrived at 12:30, and told me that Tanya told her that she was scheduled for «between 12;30 and 1.» WTF???
When I called Tammy, being upset, her response to my displeasure was, «Maybe I should schedule like the appliance people do… before noon or after noon,» as if I was the problem, and then said that the groomers are independent contractors who can set up their schedules and come and go as they wish. The words, «having an attitude» came to mind.
She told me that she had «just» given her the contact phone number for our home. Why «just»? Why not give the groomer his or her schedule and contact information the day before?
I have no problem with the quality of the grooming or the groomers. However, it would appear to that Tanya has beaucoup clients, and can afford to come across as she does, or at least did today. I hope so for her sake, as she is now down one.
Again, the issue is clearly not with the groomers…
Sorry, but every dog gets one «bite,» and, for me, this has become far too habitual for my taste… and dollars, and I intend to vote with my feet.
Perhaps others have had a different experience, but, as I told Tanya, this lack of attention to detail and basic courtesy is unacceptable to me.
Again, I should add that this review was written over a year ago, and I just found that it had not been posted.
I don’t know whether Tanya has had an attitude adjustment since my several unfortunate experiences with her, so it’s up to you whether you give her a try. Hopefully your experience will be different than mine was.
In my case, however, it was «twice bitten, and now more than shy» in that, as I noted earlier, I simply decided to stop being abused and chose another grooming service. It had just become just too stupid for words, After all, the first time or two were chalked up to just an error or mistake (or two), which can happen. It’s just that it had become the rule rather than the exception, and I had had more than enough.

Tanya has come to our house several times now, and my dogs just love her. At the first time Tanya came, the German shepherd mix did not want to have anything to do with her, but now he can’t wait to get shaven. When he comes back out of the Caboose he looks like a new dog, all smooth and cleaned up.
