Megan and Marla are incredible! They are basically family at this point.
After making a very late decision to visit family over the holidays, I desperately needed to find someone I could trust to take care of my dog, Wilson. I didn’t want to leave him somewhere he would end up in a cage all night and most of the day. Fortunately, I found the Balanced Pack.
Wilson stayed with Marla and her family during the 6 days I was gone. As any dog owner knows, a lot of stress accompanies leaving a dog with someone else for an extended period of time — even with friends. That was not the case with the Balanced Pack. I received regular updates and daily photos of a very happy Wilson. Further, it was so nice knowing that Wilson was with people who cared about him and had plenty of playtime with his canine buddies. The only concern was that I’d have to drag him back home ;-)
Since then, I have used the Balanced Pack for day boarding on a regular basis. Megan picks him up every morning on time and then drops him off around 5:30pm and feeds him dinner. He is so excited when I tell him in the morning that Megan & Marla are coming. And it is amazing to come home from work and find your dog both exercised and fed. And I do mean it — Wilson has tons of energy and on days when Megan has him, he is worn out when I get home! That says something.
The bottom line is that Megan and Marla are awesome. They will treat your dogs with love and care. And you will notice an extra gleam in your pet’s eyes after a fun day with the Balanced Pack.

What can I say? Megan is the absolute best! she and her staff can be completely 100% trusted with all your pet care needs. She has fun with them & they love her! She is careful about safety and health issues with your pets. She accepts all breeds, shapes and sizes… she does not shy away from the large dogs or bully breeds either. Rotties, Pits, Dobies, Danes, bring em on! I absolutely recommend the Balanced Pack to anyone. You will not be disappointed!

I can’t say enough good things about Balanced Pack’s reiki healer, Greg. He has been an invaluable part of my dog Lucy’s healing after a horrible accident left her with massive wounds and near dead. Greg was able to tell me additional things Lucy needed beyond the meds and suggestions of my vet. After many weeks of lovingly nursing her back to health and Greg’s long distance reiki sessions, she is completely healed. The good folks at Balanced Pack will take good care of whatever your pet’s needs might be.

Megan is great person very helpful, I comment about my dog anxiety problems. And she started giving me some tips about what to do. it was really helpful and it helped a with my dog anxiety problems. I would definitely recommen her with my friends

Megan continues to help us with our dogs. Some dogs are a life long lesson :) They absolutely love her. If I tell them she is coming over to walk them, they are thrilled… tails wagging and prancing around the home. She is also knowledgable for helping with behavioral issues… a very caring and loving individual, especially when it comes to dogs!

My husband and I do not have children, we have our dog, Etta. She is our child. We never leave her at home alone since we realized that we are her pack and the pack sticks together, always. So, I opt for doggie day camp often since its close to home but occasionally camp is not an option, that’s when I depend on Megan’s Balanced Pack to fill in for me. Sometimes it’s just for a few hours while I am at a hair appointment but Megan is always willing to take Etta for any amount of time. And when I receive Etta back she’s tired and balanced out… great name for your business, Megan!

Megan took care of my cat while I was out of town for 2.5 weeks over the holidays. Even though I emailed her less than a week before I was leaving, she responded promptly and was able to fit me into her undoubtedly busy holiday schedule. She texted me updates every day, which helped me feel a lot more comfortable about leaving my cat alone for such a long period of time. I arrived home to a happy, healthy cat and a tidy home. It’s a relief to know that if I have extended travel plans again, I can leave my pet in Megan’s very capable care!

Megan and her family really came through for me last Christmas by boarding my 1 year old rescue pup Leia over the holidays while I was out of town. She helped Leia overcome her food aggression, and it was a weight lifted off my shoulders knowing my dog was in good hands while I was away. TBP came through again this Christmas when my dog sitting plans fell through last minute. They were able to accommodate my travel plans even though I contacted them less than 2 weeks before Christmas. Thank you Megan and TBP!

I contacted Megan last minute to take care of our dog on a trip down to Carlsbad. I was happy when Megan was able to accommodate us but also nervous leaving our dog with a stranger. Megan told me that her sister, Marla, would able to help us out and she totally came through. I could tell right away that she was a dog person and our dog was comfortable with her from the get go. She texted updates and pictures of our happy boy which made me much more comfortable. I am very happy with the service and care that they provided and would highly recommend them.

I would give Megan and the balanced pack a 6^th star if I was able! I ended up needing someone to walk my dogs on a weekly basis, and with very short notice Megan came over, met with me and my dogs and started 2 days later. Megan understands how important my 3 dogs are to me, and that they are my kids. She leaves notes on what they did that day!
Megan is great with my constant changing work schedule and is accommodating to whatever the dogs need! Having Megan has been such a relief, knowing my dogs are getting a walk and some play time while I work long hours.

I had a few situations going on while visiting Carlsbad and Megan and Margie did everything they could to make it possible to board my dog a few nights. I was nervous because I thought my 10 year old dog would be upset and she was fine which made my stay really pleasant. Thank you.

Megan is wonderful. She is the nicest, calmest person and she’s great with dogs (and humans). She not only trains the dogs but she also teaches you to train them and reinforce what they learned so they don’t just go right back to eating your shoes or doing other naughty dog things.
If you need help training your dogs call The Balanced Pack immediately, you will not be disappointed, Megan really is as good as it gets.

Megan and Margie are amazing! We had to find last minute care for a kitten we had rescued and driven across the US with our family on a road trip to Legoland. We were concerned about leaving the kitten with a caregiver but given the extreme heat we wanted the kitten to be safe and secure. Megan was so great with quick responses to our calls. She never gave us anything but wonderful customer service and instantly calmed any concerns we had. When we met up with Margie it was smooth as butter and we instantly believed our kitten was in the perfect hands! I knew that somehow our pet was more than just an animal… for the day the kitten had another «family» to love on him. Because of Megan and Margie, our time as a family was made easy and worry free. And when we picked up our little kitten, it was easy to see that we also had made a friend. I Highly recommend this service! I’d give more stars if I could. We will return!

Megan is amazing. She watched our two small dogs for a week and they returned home better than when they left. I was worried about having my dogs stay at a kennel because of all the negative reviews (kennel cough, extra hidden fees, etc), when I found Megan, it was a true blessing. She met at our house for a consult to meet the dogs. Our 5 year old dog is a bit of a barker and she used her amazing training skills to help with his barking and it has to this day made our lives a whole lot easier. We already have her booked for 3 more weekends. Now we don’t have to worry about where our dogs stay when we are out of town.

Megan is simply the best. Flexible, professional, and just cares. She has been walking my 6 month yo Aussie for nearly 2 months now and has been truly a pleasure to work with. I can assure you the personal touch and communication you receive from her will far exceed anything you’ll get from anyone else.

Professional, honest, and absolutely caring are just a few ways to describe Megan and the Balanced Pack. Megan has been taking care of my rotty for just over two years now. I’d been through two dog walkers previously and they were mediocre at best. Megan treats my dog as if it was her own and truly brings an obedient and caring touch to the equation. It’s not easy to find people that you can trust now, not only with your pet, but keys to your house and the knowledge that she’ll use the utmost discretion when handling your business. Megan takes such exceptional care of my dog while I’m at work everyday or on vacation that I’ve no longer asked friends or family to watch the dog. Affordable and honest… what more could you ask for. I have two yappy little dog (Izzy and Zoey) that have been called terrorists by by our UPS driver!
Since Megan started working with us things have turned around completely and the dogs actually listen to us. They still bark but it is so much more normal. Megan is patient and calm. Izzy and Zoey start dancing by the front door when they hear Megan’s car drive up the road… they love her!

Megan took great care of my two cats while I was away. I am very satisfied with her work and will definitely use her in the future.

Megan took amazing care of our 3 pets (boston terrier, lab mix and kitty) while we were away for Christmas! She kept us updated on how they were doing, and gave them good, quality care and attention. It was such a nice relief to leave the pets at home instead of boarding them; they are much more calm and comfortable being together in familiar surroundings. Megan made it so easy and affordable. Boarding all 3 animals for 9 days would have cost twice as much as what the Balanced Pack charged. Megan is an angel, and we’re so psyched we found her for our family! Now going away is a piece of cake! Highly recommend her services!

I love The Balanced Pack! I was looking for someone that would be able to walk my pup during the day when I worked and also that would continue the training that I was starting. I was very particular in choosing who was going to take care of my puppy because I wanted someone that followed the same ideals I had in raising a puppy, which followed the principles of Cesar Milan and his balanced pack idea. Megan fit that exactly! Whenever I had questions/​concerns that would arise with Harley and Megan wasn’t around, it was nice to be able to reach her by phone and get some advice to either nip some unwanted behavior in the bud or change what I was doing. I also never had to worry about her dogs and how they would act around my dog (something you have to worry about at some places and even at the dog park). Her dogs are calm and have great energy due to how she raised them and are completely stable, which was something I was really looking for as well.
I completely and highly recommend Megan and The Balanced Pack for the care of your pet!
