The Crossings at Carlsbad

My wife and I recently Celebrated our daughters Graduation from USD here! I really need to say what a GREAT choice we made! The food was better than expected especially the Salmon! They provided plenty for our 40 guest and the service was OUTSTANDING! The two servers Kyle & Jason! Wow what an asset to that team! And I can say that after all the Mimosa’s we had! Super job everyone! Try it folks you won’t regret it very reasonable I might add! Just look for the added charge that popped up! All good though!

Wow! We are so absolutely thrilled we chose to have our Wedding here at the Crossings at Carlsbad. From the very beginning, everyone was so helpful. Our Wedding Coordinator Becca was the absolute best!!! She was always sweet and prompt to respond. She was so helpful and made the wedding exactly how we wanted. From the first day of planning to the day of, she helped keep us on track to help prepare us so our wedding went off without a hitch and it went so smooth! Everyone was so impressed with how beautiful and together the venue was. Everything was beautiful, the lawn terrace was designed exactly how I wanted it to be, the cocktail hour was perfect, and Becca made sure we and all vendors stayed on track and helped guide us through the night so we could enjoy it. It was our best decision to choose The Crossings! Everyone was highly impressed and the food was spectacular. My husbands favorite part was they contract with VG’s Bakery (his childhood favorite). The cake and pastries were so beautiful and so delicious. The staff was amazing, the food was hot and so delicious. I have nothing but high remarks. Thank you everyone and Becca for making our day perfect.

I went to lunch here with 7 other ladies. The food is good and portions are huge! The view is lovely. The service was very slow and the waitress clearly resented having to do separate checks for all of us. She was quite huffy. Too bad. Better service would have gotten it all 5 stars.

So tonight is our anniversary celebration and my husband reserved and planned a surprise dinner to celebrate our 3 year here since we were married at The Crossings. He reserved a table online, fast forward we drive through busy traffic from OC and to our disappointment they’re not taking any reservations nor is their restaurant open. What a disappointment. My husband never plans anything and for weeks he planned a sentimental celebration. No one tried to assist us or even attend to us. We had to chase down a server who asked the GM to speak to us which he basically shrugged off and said oh well, closed, not open. So yeah there goes our anniversary! Husband even booked a hotel at the Sheraton to relish in the moment at the Crossings. It wouldn’t be a big deal except he planned our entire child free 1 night around this event. Please!!! Update OPEN TABLE and don’t cause another mishap because of a technical error. So sad. :(

The Crossings has graced my radar for for quite a long time. I have been invited to happy hour events but just never made the trip. Shame on me, I did not know what I was missing out on! I was a guest at a wedding at this top notch venue and it was perfect in many ways.
This prime location complete with a golf course, panoramic ocean views, and a gorgeous event space is perfect for a wedding, meeting or holiday party. Guests arrived and congregated at the bar during happy hour and got to socialize briefly before the ceremony. The building itself is reminiscent of a European castle with towers, a stone stairway, luscious green grass and water features. I felt as if I had been teleported to a European château.
The wedding took place on a large lawn facing the ocean with a spectacular ocean view. The stone steps were a perfect backdrop for the photos of the wedding party as they began to trickle in. The natural lighting bounced off of the stone building with a radiant golden glow. The beautiful bride’s silhouette graced the stone steps as her guests sat in a state of suspended animation, it was a moment so perfect and surreal.
After a short ceremony we all joined together for a group photo taken from above and then mozied up to a hosted outdoor patio area where we sipped on wine, listened to live music and mingled. Helpful staff passed trays of caprese, crab bites and beef satays garnished with arugula, and the time flew by during the wedding party photographs.
The classy reception area had high open beam wooden ceilings, large diffuse lighting and plenty of charm. Dinner was served at round tables and we all started off with a leafy green arugula salad. I was seated at a table with several people who ordered the vegetarian entrée which was ravioli. The ravioli lacked texture and contrast and I felt that the chef could have done a better job elevating it. I would recommend adding fresh vegetables or anything other than the raw arugula again. My friend ordered the steak and could not stop raving about it. She said that the meat melted in her mouth and proclaimed that it was the best thing that she had eaten in months.
As darkness emerged we began to loosen up and dance with the newly married couple and the day was an astounding success. I would recommend the Crossings without hesitation to anyone planning an event.

This review is mainly about how great of a wedding venue this place is. Although they have very reasonable happy hour prices daily that is not related to the wedding and their bottom shelf vodka is Seagram’s so that is a plus.
I came as a plus one to a wedding this past weekend and was so impressed with Crossings. The wedding was held outside on a lovely grass area with a view of the ocean. This wedding was less than 15 minutes (SCORE) but I wouldn’t have been bummed if it was longer just because the view was so nice.
Then after we were hosted a cocktail and appetizer hour on the patio while the bridal party took pictures. Passed apps of satay beef, crab cake puffs and caprise salad skewers were a hit with everyone. The beef was my favorite. They have fire pits and heaters for a chilly day. It was about 70 when I was there so they weren’t really needed but the pits did come in handy later in the evening.
The reception room was reminiscent of a ski lodge that you would find in Aspen. Beautiful with high wooden beam ceilings. Large windows with a nice layout and best yet easy access to the bar. We sat right next to the big fireplace which added a nice glow to the room. Our waiter Jay was a big kick. He was busy but always took the time to give everyone special attention. We had a needy group and he delivered. And he had a wicked sense of humor that kept me well entertained. (that or the multiple glasses of champagne).
I heard that The Crossings recently retained a new chef and it definitely shows. I’ve read the reviews where everyone seems to be unimpressed with the food. Well that must have been pre new chef because my food was delicious. My steak cooked to perfection. So tender I almost didn’t need a knife. I will be dreaming about that steak for a long time. I’m not typically a fan of wedding faire but Crossings food was exceptional. My friend who ordered the vegetarian meal because he is always disappointed by the meat served at wedding venues really missed out on this meal. He did like his ravioli but was quite envious of the people raving about their steaks.
My friends and I had a great time. So much so I may want to get a divorce and then remarry just so I can have a wedding here. It really is that impressive.

Hard course… I played here like twice. It’s a struggle lol. Can get pretty damn crowded though. Came here with my mom dad bro and bf. They like the course as it is close to where we always stay.

Very nice course. The greens are immaculate. You won’t find better greens anywhere. Back nine is definitely tougher than the front nine. Challenging course but enjoyable. They have great rates and deals if you are a local.

We looked a lot of places in Southern California for our venue. We decided we had seen enough places when I my Aunt from Carlsbad suggested The Crossings because she had been to a wedding there. We decided to check it out and fell in love. The venue is absolutely beautiful (yes you will have to deal with plane noises from the airport but it is definitely worth it). Our wedding coordinator was Lindsey Bockoven and she was great! Very responsive and helped us out with anything we needed. It was also a great deal and did not eat all of our budget. If we had to do it all again we would definitely keep The Crossings as our venue.

Beautiful golf course and great set up loved the condition of the fairways greens and tees and the landscaping is great and very well kept and the pace of play is decent I would say average and the staff is very nice and helpful and practice facility is excellent and they give a great discount for military vets!

While searching for wedding venue ideas I came across an advertisement for The Crossings in a bridal magazine. It quickly became one of the 5 we went to see in person. After we left our first meeting with Erica, director of catering, we knew the venue was perfect. The entire process was easy, fun, and stress-​free. Becca Hartegan was our planning coordinator and she’s not only a great planner, but an overall amazing woman. She was easy to get a hold of, prompt in her responses, and always friendly and professional. She always had an answer for our questions, and was very accommodating with all of our requests. They really are «all inclusive» and made the money spent well worth it. All of my guests were stunned at the beauty of the venue. I highly recommend The Crossings as a wedding venue, or even a place to grab a meal! The food is to die for, and the staff are top-​notch. Our special day was nothing short of perfect.

I loved the golf coarse, the pro shop and the restaurant. The was my first time golfing The Crossings. So for me the coarse was a bit tough. The staff was helpful and friendly with exception to one of the marshals on the coarse (cranky old guy). Our foursome was moving right along, but the marshal felt we were too slow according to his schedule. Half way into our game he warned us that were on record as the «slowest foursome ever…» even though we had no one in front or in back of us. Anyway we didn’t let him rain on our parade. We finished in a respectable time according to some of the guys at the clubhouse.

We just had our wedding at the Crossings last week and there is no word to describe it other than perfection. Everything went perfectly and we are still receiving the most amazing compliments from our guests. Becca Hartegan was our coordinator and I cannot say enough good things about her. From the first time I met her she was so incredibly helpful and patient. Fast forward two years later to the wedding day, and she nailed everything I asked for. I am forever grateful to her for just being so darn wonderful and making my wedding day more magical than I ever expected. Food was amazing, service was amazing, not a single issue — what more can you ask for?

Went here for the Champagne Sunday brunch. Food was good. Champagne was a little sweet for those of us who know Champagne. I had mine with OJ so it was fine 4 me. Service was excellent. But others than Salmon. No seals food. Not even shrimp. Checked salad bar and omelet station, nothing. Nice outdoor covered patio as well as indoor. Both seating areas look across the golf course with ocean off in the distance. For $ 25 each, not bad.

We just had lunch at the «Crossings» in Carlsbad. So good! My friend & I both ordered the Grilled Steak Sandwich for lunch. A delicious & tender Sirloin (I think) served open faced on a fat piece of toast with Au Jus & topped with a little Arugula & Bleu Cheese crumbles. It also came with fries but there are other choices too. My other friend ordered the Cobb Salad & it was really good as well with a generous amount of goodies & a great red wine vinaigrette lightly tossed but not drowning in dressing. Very fresh! Service was good (Sean) & our meal came pretty quickly. My friends’ only complaint is the ICED TEA was Tropical & she likes regular. We did mention this to Sean & he said he would let management know that both should be available to order. Beautiful views & priced right for lunch. We will return!

Customer service combined with a course that you will never forget! If you want to play golf while in SD, book the tee time and look forward to hitting the first shot!

Challenging course! My father and I came here on New Years Eve and played nine for twilight. The staff was very helpful in getting us set up and expedited our process so that we could get on the tee quickly since we only had a few hours of daylight left.
The course is quite challenging. With lots of blind shots, sloped fairways, and hard to read greens it can be easy to get frustrated. There are a lot of elevated tees however, so at times you can take out your low degrees and watch your ball soar (so rewarding)! The course saddles a canyon so it can be sunny, windy, sheltered, and cold all within the distance of two holes. There are views of the ocean, waterfalls, and lots of rattlesnakes.
A very fun course that I really hope to play again. Just be sure to play it safe or bring a couple dozen balls.

We loved our wedding at the Crossings on 11.29.14. Lindsay was our coordinator and was outstanding at her job. We were NOT all peaches and cream! My family was late for rehearsal and we disagreed about where to put the alter at the 11^th hour. BUT everybody lived and Lindsay was great about being (Switzerland. Lol) neutral on our decision about the placement of the alter. I had a ton of decorations, linens, chair covers and personally made centerpieces so I had high expectations for the room… WOW! Everything was great! The night went so quick that was my only complaint. VG’s bakery was on point with the custom blue/​lace cake and LA Kings grooms cake… Absolutely awesome and delicious. Life lesson: The only thing bad that happened was some of our cards were stolen… $ 400 gone. Don’t know who still to this day :(but take your cards in if you have the card box in the rotunda. Just too far away from the actual events to be watched. That can happen anywhere but never thought it would there! Live and learn. Other than that a dream wedding with great food. Really happy customers.

We had our wedding at The Crossings on September 27^th
Lindsey at The Crossings made it SO easy for us. We checked out several placed before meeting with Lindsey and we knew that this was where we wanted to get married once we looked at their location and the options they have. The best part? They have a wedding coordinator service included in some of the packages and they take care of EVERYTHING the day of. I had a lot of decorations and was very particular about how I wanted things set up and they got everything right! I didn’t have to worry about a thing the morning of my wedding (we had a 10am ceremony, which, for the record was awesome and our guests loved that it ended around 3pm and they had the rest of the day to do whatever)! I wouldn’t have changed a thing that day!
Our guests also LOVED the food. We had the herb roasted chicken, butternut squash ravioli and grilled mahi mahi. The wedding cake that is inclusive to their packages is with VGs in Cardiff and they have gluten free options! We had so many compliments on the cake and I am still getting texts from people saying they are craving the cake!

Owned by the city of Carlsbad, this course is a diamond in the rough of public golf courses. I had a tee time for 730 am on Saturday.
The practice area is large and includes a driving range, several chipping areas and a large putting green. The clubhouse is massive and offers a fully stocked pro shop with a nice variety of golf apparel, equipment and cigars for a pleasurable on the course.
The course was in top condition — the front nine vs back nine are different in design but was scenic with elevation changes, doglegs and water hazards. The fairways, bunkers and greens were in great shape and all carts included GPS which expedites the pace of play. I also saw several marshals on the course enforcing speed of play — we ended up playing in less then 4 ½ hours.
If there were any cons at the Crossings it would be the views of the electrical towers that run though some of the course and the front nine is located next to the Palomar airport, so there were smaller planes departed and arriving. Another con was they charge for range balls which I though was tacky when rack rate is $ 110.00 per player.
Would I return here again? Absolutely — makes for a great weekend golf getaway to the San Diego area.
