History

Established in 2014.

My name’s Ben Avilez and I founded Up and Running Video, a San Diego-​based video production company, with the intention of:

* Depicting impactful stories through video.

* Valuing authenticity over perfection because honesty resonates with viewers.

* Striving for each video to be as uniquely handcrafted as you are.

What I bring to the table with Up and Running Video is my own perspective on how to craft an intriguing story that entertains, entices, and affects a viewer’s way of thinking. The result is increased brand awareness, transparency, and conversions.

Business Owner

I picked up my first video camera when I was in high school. I would post videoblogs and various other slices of life online, before YouTube existed. To my surprise, one of my videos was featured on G4TV. I was also listed as one of the best videobloggers in the world according to The Independent, a UK-​based periodical. Essentially, this joy of knowing that other people were viewing my work was what led me to the professional video realm. After graduating with a Bachelors in Film Production from San Diego State University, I took the safe route and began working a 9-​to-​5 in a warehouse. I found my fulfillment in going to a coffee shop every day after work to do video editing or creative writing. Eventually, my skills became sharp enough to pursue a career in video production. I finally jumped ship from the warehouse and founded Up and Running Video in February 2014. I’ve been blessed with the opportunity to follow my passion and aim for that fervor to translate in my work.
