I have never Unilocaled before… but this person, Tamara C., at xs studio /​oceanside glass tile –(
) is well worth Unilocaling about. I had used oceanside glass tile previously in my home and love it! Once you have laid eyes on their tiles and designs… nothing else can compare! I wanted to create a fountain wall for my pool, so I set up a phone appointment with Tamara. I explained to her what I was looking for and sent her a few pictures of what I already had so she could get a sense of my style. I was stuck… and didn’t know what I wanted to do with this blank wall. Within minutes of our conversation she came up with designs, ideas, colors, and patterns that she thought would capture what I was looking for and started sending me pictures of tiles and colors she thought would work for me. Her very keen eye caught every detail in the photos I sent her. Her enthusiasm was infectious and I felt completely confident in her choices to convey what I wanted. And she nailed it! She just plain got it right – spot on!!! Anyone who is lucky enough to deal with Tamara will be extremely happy on all levels. Did I forget to mention the price??? Oh yes… we were able to do this wall for a fraction of what it could have cost outside of the xs studio! And all of this was done over the phone! I love my wall… and so does everyone else!!!

Who knew I could have a bathroom like Kobe?
I came across XS Studios because of a $ 45 dollars for $ 200 bucks worth of tiles. I jumped on it since I was planning on remodeling my house anyways. The place isn’t too hard to find; it’s kind of in the middle of an industrial area. The thing I love and hate about this place is it’s by appointment only. It gives it a classier feel to shopping here, but at the same time it could be a nuisance to plan a time you can roll up. Tamara will most likely be the one helping; she’s this super friendly and helpful interior designer. After looking at the different mosaic tiles they had, I opt’ed to use my Groupon on flooring material called Brio. It’s this heavy duty Spanish flooring found in many homes of celebrities. Because I live in a shoebox, my handy Groupon was sufficient for redeeming for enough flooring for the bathroom. The flooring was normally 9/​sq ft, but because of the Groupon, I got them for 2/​sq ft.
I’m pretty stoked for my renovations and I’ll post pictures when I’m done. Thanks XS Studios.
About my credentials:
So there was a leak in my bathroom. I convinced wifey to let me hire a contractor to gut the bathroom and redo it. Since she’s super busy, she let me be in charge of everything. Little does she know my color palette is only 8 colors. It’s going to be mostly dark colors and I have a feeling it’s going to look like the bat cave when it’s done.

I found XS Studio while looking around the website of Oceanside Glasstile (
) — I had checked out some of Oceanside’s products at the Merchandise Mart here and Chicago and had fallen in love with their tile’s beautiful colors and patterns. I set up an appointment to visit XS Studio (basically an outlet store for Oceanside) while I was on vacation in Southern California thinking I could see more of their products in person as I was planning my kitchen backsplash design.
I met with Tamara who was unbelievably helpful in making both creative and cost-​effective suggestions for our kitchen design. I loved having her input since I can be VERY indecisive and she actually was much more helpful than any of the 3 high-​end tile studios I visited while in Chicago. Aside from the limited supply of some patterns available, it didn’t feel like I was in an outlet store at all (and also the prices — their tile normally sells for over $ 80/​square foot — most of the tile I looked at at XS was under $ 20). The selection that they had at the studio was actually quite large which gave us several options and I ended up placing the order for our kitchen there that day! Once I returned home with samples, I decided to change my order somewhat and again, Tamara was very accomodating. She was able to show me some items they had just received in on their website (which is easy to use if you know what you’re looking for) and got the updated order in easily.
As I’m waiting for our shipment to arrive, I’m already looking around the other rooms in our home to see what I can tile next…
