I had a very negative experience with this company. They rescheduled at the last minute. Then the supervisor said that I hadn’t paid to have two televisions moved. I had to dig up the contract to show him that I had. They demanded that I pay in cash. Is that normal?

Worst. Moving. Company. Ever. I moved from Northern NJ to just outside of Atlanta, and while the crew that helped pack up was amazing, efficent, and cared for my items, the same cannot be said of anybody else. The«estimate» i was given was a third of the actual cost. 1⁄3. We’re talking about 6000 more than we agreed upon, and the guy even walked thru the house with me. Once they got to the place in Georgia, they insisted on payment, which is fine. What isn’t fine, is they fly-by-night day laborers that parked on my front lawn. We were told when we left NJ that we would be standing there with the manifest, and checking things off as they came off the truck. Nope. They just started hauling it out. Pure chaos with 7 people moving all your stuff. Then we were also told — that they would reassemble tables, beds, etc — just like they disassembled them(with care) in NJ. Not the case. The driver even went so far as to tell my father to «have your son do it» when it came to reassembling things. Lo and behold — several boxes were missing. My personal affects, reading glasses, and a few boxes of Xmas decorations which have been in my family for years. After a long letter, and back and forth with customer service, it’s over a year after the move, and no restitution was made. This place is a joke, run by sheisty clowns. AVOID!

STAYAWAY! We moved with them recently and it was a DISASTER. They arrived 3 hours late and LIED about the reason(they did not have a truck available). We live in Manhattan where buildings have rules, therefore they could not finish the move and my wife and me had to finish by ourselves late night. They are cheap but not WORTH it. They also damaged several goods. SERIOUSLY, stay AWAY from them.

I HIGHLYRECOMMENDSTAYINGAWAY from this company. This small company may have paid for big google ad space, but they’re not large, not professional, and not reputable. They’re crammed into a tiny office, they’re inconsistant and unreliable even with basic interactions. I spoke to James and Juan after locating this company in a web search, had them inspect a warehouse location for a commercial move, negotiated contract terms, and then met with two days later to inspect their location and described operations. Their location was very different than described. The day we were there, they were storing personal effects outside in an open fenced lot under the elements, and their«warehouse» was much smaller than described, and was a complete mess, filthy and severely overcrowded with goods in stained wooden crates or moving blankets wrapped in plastic tape stacked 2 – 3 levels high. We should have walked away then, but since we weren’t interested in storage, we decided to proceed negotiating the contract when they changed the previously negotiated contract terms by increasing the contract price, reducing the number of movers and hours included. After no fewer than 30 calls & texts to finalize the transaction, I discovered Universe Express deliberately over-booked our time slot with a more profitable job, and were now unable to accommodate our move. Fortunately, we never gave them a deposit. Do not use this company. Spend the time to do thorough research and go with a reliable & reputable company even if it costs more!

I WOULDNOTUSETHISCOMPANY! I have had to move several times in the past few years and this is the worst moving company I have used. I wanted to use the last moving company I moved with but they did not do short distance moves so I browsed through the better business bureau to find this company. The initial work order went smoothly but since the day of the move, everything went downhill. I moved out of New York city and many of the buildings in the city are more stringent about protection of the building during the move. I provided the movers with the necessary instructions and of course on the day of the move, the company did not have the needed materials and denied that they received the faxed instructions. I provided the fax confirmation and the building management showed the returned contract sent by the movers with the moving instructions but again, the moving company denied receiving these instructions so I was required to pay the building $ 200 for the materials. Upon receiving my furniture, items were damaged and one item was lost. It is now 3 months since the move and I have not received reimbursement for the damaged and lost item. Repeated contact to the moving company did not prove useful. I had to file a claim with the better business bureau to try and resolve this issue and at this time, no reimbursement or amends have been made. I will never use this company again and advice others to do the same.
