Veriella’s Bakery

Veriella’s did an excellent job on my daughter’s 1^st birthday cake. I came in with a design in mind, and the staff worked with me to make it happen. They showed me some pictures of a similar design they had done in the past which looked great. So I was confident that they would do a good job. As far as the cake and filling, there is a menu of options to choose from. I chose a yellow cake with vanilla cream and strawberry filling and whipped cream icing.
The cake turned out better than I expected. The design, the piping work, and the colors made the cake look cute and perfect for a baby girl’s 1^st birthday. The cake itself was moist and the vanilla cream and strawberry filling was a delicious combination. The whipped cream icing was a good choice over the butter cream, as the level of sweetness was not over the top. Everyone at the party really enjoyed the cake.
The staff was friendly and professional and the cake baker, I was told, has 20 years of experience. The pricing is very reasonable as well.
I recommend Veriella’s for anyone looking for a yummy custom cake.

Came here on a whim at noon on a Saturday and most cakes were sold already. There were a few left so I bought a vanilla cake with cannoli filling for my good friend’s birthday and it was delicious. It was moist and very tasty. The best part… it’s inexpensive. They list their pricings on the wall so you don’t need to ask about it. Unlike many other bakeries in Bergen county, the cashiers just calls out a number on top of their head. They also have other pastries and cookies, bagels, coffee and Italian Ices.
The service is friendly. While waiting for service, more people came in and before we know it, there’s a line. I will definitely come back but next time, I’m get a chocolate cake (which they sold out when I got there.) I definitely recommend others to try this place.

Cannot see a reason this place doesn’t deserve a 5 star rating. They make some of the best cakes and pastries and I had ordered 2 birthday cakes for my daughters 1^st year Birthday and both were yummy.
They also serve fresh cookies though I did not try them I saw a lot of people walk-​in and buy cookies whilst I was waiting for my cake.
They might not have all the cake designs or concepts but the guy worked with me to come up with something I want and he deserves the additional star just for being open to ideas from customer and being proactive!

This place is just amazing! I ordered my son’s first birthday cake from there and it came out better than I expected! It looked awesome and it was delicious! My friends and family didn’t stop snapping pictures of the cake! They are so talented and professional. I truly recommend this bakery if your hosting an event and need a cake/​cupcakes and custom made cookies. I will be returning for my son’s 2^nd birthday cake.

This is my go-​to bakery for cakes. It started with my brother-in-law’s grandmother’s birthday cake and 6 cakes for various parties later, we can’t find a better bakery.
They recently made a cake for my sister’s baby shower that was Hot Air balloon themed. They did some fondant work based on a photo I sent and it came out beautifully! The flavors were delicious and we received so many compliments. We had white cake with buttercream and nutella filling and it was amazing, as always.
It takes 30 min to get to the bakery from where i live, but it’s worth the trip. :) They have great prices, friendly service and delicious baked goods so they’ve got me as a loyal customer.

Today I stopped in to get a cake for hubby’s birthday. Again I was greeted with the utmost customer service. We selected a vanilla with strawberry filling. It was fresh, the strawberries tasted super fresh and delicious. I don’t see myself going anywhere else for cakes. Keep up the good work.

Great new bakery café in town, it was a very friendly atmosphere and even met the owner (Danny) and his lovely wife at the shop. They were very helpful and patient in selecting an assortment of Italian pastries and cookies for a party I was planning for the next day.
As for quality and flavor of the products…
7 layer cookies– were amazing, moist and full of flavors.
Cannoli– remember when mom made a fresh cannoli and you couldn’t ever find that flavor again… Well here is it, the crème is some type of incredible.
Miscellaneous Italian cookies — great biscotti and butter cookies, these will be a weekly pick up product for me.
Give them a shot you will not be disappointed what so ever.

I did a quick Unilocal search for a bakery, I actually had a place in East Rutherford recommended to me but wasn’t given a name so I was looking to Unilocal for help. Veriella’s came up rated high and was closer so I stopped in for some Italian bread and I am glad I did.
Like I said, I only went in for bread but the smell of the bakery was so inviting I couldn’t help myself. I saw what looked like giant cream puffs so I bought 3 nutella and 1 cannoli and the bread. We had some friends over for dinner and we shared the puffs for dessert. They were so amazingly good. Like, I don’t think my words will do it justice so just go there. And the prices can’t be beat. I think I paid $ 7 for everything. I will 100% be back often anytime I need baked goods or breads. It is definitely a must try.

This is the BEST bakery I’ve been to. Everything I’ve had is delicious. A family favorite is the death by chocolate cake! Stop in for coffee and breakfast, you will not be disappointed!

Love this adorable café! I stop here in the morning for my coffee and carbs and I am never disappointed! The owners are super nice, too. All of their delicacies are delicious… crumb cake, danishes, cookies, pastries… all amazing. I recently ordered a large cake for a luncheon at work and everyone raved about how delicious it was! They are so nice, accommodating and easy to work with. It’s my new go-​to bakery!

Bought a birthday cake here. Not too good. The cake was very hard to cut in.

My mom went into this bakery … Found it on Unilocal!I live in LA and we were getting my bridal shower together in NJ. My mom said everyone was so very nice and helpful. All the desserts went quickly at the bridal shower !! Everyone loved the cake, cupcakes, and cake pops. (I’m lactose intolerant so I had to sadly miss out). The biggest thing that everyone loved was the frosting –not too sweet or heavy –just light and delicious.

My husband purchased my birthday cake from here this year. We have been purchasing from another bakery for about 10 years, but decided to switch it up this year. He ordered a traditional strawberry shortcake & it was amaaaaazing!!! So light & fresh. The taste immediately transported me to the cakes my dad would purchase for me as a kid. Everyone loved it! Check this place out of you’re in the area. Super friendly owners & their pastries are amazing.

Been driving by new bakery on way home from work and decided to try it out for daughter’s Frozen themed birthday cake. The staff was so nice-​helped me select artwork and design. Got yellow cake with chocolate crème filling and whipped crème icing. The cake was light and fluffy and not too sweet, which was exactly what I wanted. Price was comparable to other bakeries I called. I’m very happy with this transaction and will definitely order birthday cakes from Veriella’s in the future.

Veriella’s is the most delicious, clean, well-​managed bakery I’ve ever been to! The smell, upon entering, is fresh and delicious; you just know you’re about to buy something amazing.
We purchased our wedding cake from Veriella’s for our wedding on September 27, 2014. The baker was accommodating, kind, and knowledgeable. Everyone thought our cake was breathtakingly beautiful, but that doesn’t even compare to the taste… unreal! I will be returning to Veriella’s in the future for birthday cakes and any other occasion I can think of!

This bakery is wonderful. An amazingly large selection of great Italian pastries, cookies, and cakes. Bright, clean, and the aromas were heavenly. Friendly staff, and good prices. What’s not to love? We got the cannoli’s and they were sooooo good. They had large and small sized cannoli. We got both. My son had a «red velvet» cookie and loved it. Carlstadt and the local areas should be very thankful to have a full service and awesome bakery in it. I wish the owners the very best and much success.

This is an awesome bakery! I came here from a referral of a friend’s friend, because I needed a gluten-​free cake at the last minute. Everyone was super friendly and very helpful. I called on Monday and picked up my cakes on Tuesday.
I actually ended up ordering 2 cakes: a chocolate gluten-​free cake with French crème filling and buttercream frosting and a gluten-​full traditional red velvet.
The only caveat was that the red velvet had some raspberry filling, which was unexpected.
Both cakes were bit hits at the party, deliciously moist and only cost $ 35 (for both of them!!!)
I highly recommend trying out this cute little bakery.

I HIGHLY recommend them for any and every special event! They did such an amazing job with my daughter’s smash cake and birthday cake. I couldn’t ask for more! They went above and beyond what I pictured and wanted for my daughter’s special event! Not only do they make the most amazing looking and tasting cakes but they are super sweet and friendly. I will always and forever use them for every special event in the future.

This is a great little bakery which packs a good-​sized selection of Italian pastries, cookies and cakes. I’ve been here about 5 times since they opened and don’t think I’ve ever had anything I didn’t like.
First of all… the display is amazing. Everything not only LOOKS delicious in the case, it all TASTES awesome too. I’ve been to other bakeries and everything also LOOKS fantastic in the case, only to get home (salivating for dessert) and the cake, pie or whatever is dried out and obviously not fresh. Pet peeve of a dessert lover!!! That has not happened with Veriellas.
I can vouch for: cream puffs (all varieties), lobster tail, mini tira misu, pasticciotti (can’t pronounce it but will say that it tastes good on the buds… I had the almond/​chocolate version), German chocolate cake, biscotti (several varieties). The kids’ favorites include the sugar cookies, cake pops and Italian rainbow cookies. Again — all fresh and super moist and delicious. Gee this review is gonna make me sound like a lardo, but what can I say… I love dessert!
Looking forward to my next visit and trying whatever else they have in store for me! Writing this review I’m realizing I don’t think I’ve had their camnolis yet, so I will add that to the list!
