Established in 2008.

Lauren Merrill, owner of Pamplemousse, started the business to offer women another option for fashion in Carmel. Pamplemousse, meaning «grapefruit» in French, has a decidedly european feel. Geared towards women who are looking for fashion that is fun and unique, yet sophisticated enough to feel like they are not wearing their teenaged daughter’s clothing, Pamplemousse was meant to offer an enjoyable, personalized experience far and away more satisfying than a department store. Lauren started the business on Mission street, and shortly moved to a new location next to the fire station. Having just completed the last (and final) move, Pamplemousse is now located on the north side of Ocean Avenue between Mission and San Carlos. Come visit and immerse yourself in some amazing fashion in a gorgeous setting!

Owner Lauren Merrill personally selects each and every piece of clothing, jewelry and accessories throughout the shop. This inspired collection includes cocktail dresses, denim, separates including both casual tops and dressier «date night» blouses which can be paired with well-​tailored bottoms, and an array of accessories including scarves, belts, handbags and jewelry all handpicked with an eye for fashion that is both unique and wearable.
