Grater’s in Carmel brings old style ice cream with a modern amenities to an amazing location. 100 feet east of the Monon trail, just south of the Palladium/City Center, you will find one of my favorite Ice Cream spots in Indy. The ice cream is thick and the serving sizes are generous. It is the best place to stop in for a quick treat after a hard workout. The location makes it great, the ice cream makes it amazing, the service makes it unbeatable.

YUM!!! The ice cream was super delicious and they were up late! I had a double scoop cone with the Almond Joy ice cream. I can’t remember the real name, but it had almonds, coconut, and chocolate. It was like eating an Almond Joy! I also got buckeye, which was just the right mix of peanut butter and chocolate. This location is pretty large and they sell ice cream to go as well as cones, syrups, and more. It was like a little gift shop. I am excited about going back many many times!

I’m sooooo excited that there’s a Graeter’s in Carmel! Bring on the turtle sundaes. I first fell in love with Graeter’s while visiting Ohio, which is where the ice cream company started. Now that they’ve branched out to Indiana, I can get my fix without the drive.(And yes, I know I can get their ice cream in pints at the grocery store, but it’s just not the same as getting it hand-scooped.) My favorite is their cookies & cream, which has lots of soft cookies in it(this is important).

I know, I know, Graeter’s in Indy is nothing new anymore… except my family’s Cincinnati heritage makes my little heart happy every time a new one comes to town. As for what to order, get anything in their«chip» menu(as in «chocolate chip», except these are more like rich, yummy chocolate boulders). You really can’t go wrong. But flavors like Black Raspberry Chip and Buckeye Blitz are what Graeter’s is famous for, and you can get basic ice cream anywhere. Bonus to this location: the perfect spot after a show at the Palladium or if you want a stroll on the Monon! There are plenty of tables here if you’re not taking your treats to go, and the staff was very nice and friendly. Welcome to Carmel, Graeter’s!
