Providence at Old Meridian

A nice area, but for the price, not really worth it. Utilities are sky high, and lately it’s taken a long time for maintenance to attend to issues. The amenities center is nice, but rarely staffed and things take forever to get fixed. It seems as if they are way understaffed. Staff is very friendly. They need to up their game as there are many nicer places nearby for comparable rent. I’d recommend looking around before settling here. For a bit more per month you can get a much nicer apt.

DO NOT LIVE HERE. Our sink has been leaking into the apartment below us for a good month now and they haven’t come to fix it yet. There is NOT an amenities center. Any time you need someone, they aren’t there. You have to call the leasing office to get someone to come give you your packages. You Cannot get your packages at 6pm. Who has a concierge service close before most people get off work??? Trust me, keep looking. Their are other great places to live in this area.

It’s pretty, but you can’t judge a book by the cover. The amenities you’ll see on your tour are pretty top-​notch; aside from the gym, that I would compare to a hotel gym — low-​end equipment, small, busy, all-​around miserable. The virtual golf range is pretty neat, the movie theater is nice, and the clubhouse was flashy enough to make me say «Wow, I have to live here.»
The office staff, though, makes me cringe. Even before I signed my lease, I had trouble getting information from them. I went as far as writing a sassy email to the property management company, and they’re as apathetic as the people you see on a daily basis. If you feel like living in a community like this should entitle you to, y’know, like, a little customer service — this isn’t your place. I don’t expect them to wash my car and walk the dog that I don’t have, but dang it, you could at least send me a reply when I email you about move-​in dates/​times/​information.
The apartments are nice, and the only reason I’m giving it two stars. My apartment was spotless when I moved in, and the layout is really nice — plus a huge balcony with extra storage. The maintenance staff should be running the whole place, because they’re kind and helpful and pretty responsive.
Aside from that, I’d echo the other reviews: taking out the trash is a guaranteed hassle, every single time, SUPER thin walls, tricky lease terms. Keep looking for other apartments that are stress-​free. This can’t be the best that Carmel has to offer.

I lived at the Providence at Old Meridian for a year and half. The location was wonderful. Meijer right across the street, two restaurants within walking distance. Close to the Carmel Arts district. I was very pleased with the location. I loved the layout of my apartment. I would give it an Ok rating because it worked for me.
Cons: I agree with the other posts. Very thin walls. The management team wasn’t the best. SPIDERS. Woodlouse spiders everywhere! Look them up, they are disgusting. I had never seen this kind before I moved in. I was not a fan of them. Found on the floor mostly.

Beware of your lease! It’s not a fixed lease for «X «number of months. It’s a minimum agreement for that number of months and automatically turns into a month to month lease until you give a 60 days notice that you intend to move out. Tricky. Sign your intent to move out on the day the lease ends the day you sign your lease if you choose this place. Otherwise you might forget and be stuck living here longer then you planned because they got you.

Terrible. Absolutely terrible. Bad walls. I could hear my neighbor urinate every morning at 6 AM. Highest bills for utilities I have EVER had. And we kept our heat at 58 degrees! They submitted bills to a collection company without ever calling me– of which I had the cashed checks showing I had paid them on time. Now I have a bad debt on my credit score for paying providence on time. Also, water hard as a rock, faucets frozen in place, dryer never worked, etc etc… it was a disaster.
