After sending our 8 year old to Girl Scout camp and having a terrible experience(strep throat/fever for days and no nurse visit), I was nervous about sending her brother to camp. We had registered him for the laser tag session but I was nervous about summer camps in general. We arrived and the staff was amazing, the nurse(older not in her 20s) introduced herself to our son first thing! After five nights, we returned to pick him up and he didn’t want to leave! Swam every day, laser tag every day, loved the counselors, has a new best friend! Despite quite a few mosquito bites, he has talked about camp nonstop since he’s been home. He begged to go back next year! Couldn’t be more pleased with Camp Don Bosco. Not only will my son be a return camper next year, our daughter wants to go to trail scouts(horse theme) camp at Don Bosco as well!!!

This camp is owned by the Archdiocese of Seattle and so there are many church retreats here. I can only comment on the main facilities since our group didn’t get to utilize the amenities. See We stayed in the Racheros/Winterized cabins. Generally good shape… rooms are carpeted(you will have to vacuum it yourself upon leaving) and HEATED! The Thunderbird Lodge holds 175 people and is where we held most of our activities(even mass.) The dining hall is a cold 3-minute walk from the main lodge. The bathroom is the Thunderbird Lodge needs some work on its fan… its very disruptive especially when you’re trying to do adoration. Also the floors in all the bathrooms need to be redone because there is a lot of gaping and sinking holes.
