Description

Specialties

Miller’s is a mercantile that’s artsy, retro, old-fashioned and a little bit green. We have toys, baby gifts, household items, cards, jewelry, gifts, and all sorts of other stuff. We carry a variety of things that are made or designed locally.

Carnation is a great place to visit with rivers, riverside trails, mountain biking and farms so make a day of it and don’t miss Miller’s!

History

Established in 2004.

The building was once owned by Howard and Marion Miller. They ran Miller’s Dry Goods here for almost 45 years until the mid 1980’s. They were one of the last independently owned stores to carry logging and farming clothing in the Puget Sound area.

Folks up and down the Snoqualmie Valley continued to call this place Miller’s long after Howard sold the building. When I bought it I asked Howard if he would mind if I called it Miller’s again, he was delighted, and so was I.

I originally opened a community and arts center which featured art shows, classes, a ceramics studio, music, dances and meetings. In December 2007 I opened the shop which has been growing robustly ever since.

Our priority is to serve our community and it is an honor to have such a central role here.

Business Owner

I grew up in New England, you can kind of tell when you come to my shop. I lived in Boston, Cambridge (MA), Hong Kong, Beijing and Seattle, before I took the leap into small town living.

After 15 years here, I am, frankly, a little amazed at how well it has all worked out. It is a wonderful quality of life. I don’t know if I could go back to the anonymity of city life again… time will tell.
