Tolt MacDonald Park

Peaceful yet close to city. Well maintained and the host couple were very friendly. We camped in a small campground which is 80 $ I think. Not bad for a place which can accommodate up to 20 people.

Called to make a reservation for a yurt five days prior to coming up there and they refused because they require a week’s notice. Really?

My favorite campsite and park by far! I love this place, not too far from my home in Edmonds but the setting of it makes me feel like I’m in the wilderness. I’ve camped here for two birthdays 19^th and 21^st and loved both times. For my 19^th I tent camped and for my 21^st I stayed in the camping container (train car). It’s set up so nicely and it makes the stay very comfortable and it’s extremely affordable. I love how close it is to the river and the suspension bridge is awesome. I love going on night hikes and I’m sure biking or 4-​wheeling would be a blast!

Love to walk around and sit by the river. Lots of families and campgrounds in the summer. Easy going and idyllic.

Excellent trails which are dog friendly. We love this place, haven’t camped here yet, however, hit the trails several times a month. The views of the river are fantastic and the overall length of the trail system is endless. We like to park and head towards the suspension bridge and turn around on the opposite side of the river. Enjoy!

My new, favorite close-​to-​home place to camp!!! My husband and I tried coming here last year with the RV, but it was full. We took a chance coming here during what was supposed to be a really nice and sunny weekend, expecting it to be full, BUT IT WASN’T! We got an RV spot, but we were just in a tent… It was $ 30/​night for the RV spot. It was a decent sized spot. And the trees/​bushes surrounding the campsite made it a little more private and separated from your neighbors. There is a firepit and water spiggot there as well. And hook ups if you have an RV. We paid $ 10 extra and got wood, which they deliver to your site. :)
The bathroom facilities were right across from us, which was convenient, and really clean. There is one shower stall with hot hot water! It was so nice taking a hot shower after swimming in the river. Definitely not roughing it at all out here ;)
There is access to the river right near the bathrooms and close to our campsite. Nice spot to hang out during the day. There are also yurts and group camping spots across the bridge, but those were all taken and I’m not sure how I feel about lugging all our gear back and forth across the bridge to get there, but maybe one day.
Anyway, it is such a nice park/​camp ground and very well maintained. I love this place!

I ended up at this park while rafting down the snoqualmie.
Wide open fields, a beautiful bridge, and YURTS! (a cross between tents and a cabin.)
I lost track of time here. or maybe time slowed down because it is just so peaceful.

Such a beautiful park, I almost don’t want to give it any stars so it stays private. So if you’re following my lead and going, pick up your garbage, keep your dog on a leash, don’t be loud and obnoxious to other visitors… let’s keep this place serene

We have an annual family camping trip here every summer. This is a fantastic place to camp! The sites are well maintained, there is a host on site if you need help with anything (he even delivered firewood to us) and it’s a beautiful location. It’s dog friendly, the river is a short walk, bathrooms are clean, showers available! This past summer we set up a badminton net for the kids in the huge grass area and it was a big hit! I’ve never camped on the other side of the bridge where the yurts are, but it’s always packed. Lots of trails to walk and explore. Just a great family camping spot! We took our dogs here last weekend for a walk and I was surprised at how many people were camping in the cold weather! The sites do have power hookups for RV’s, so I guess that would make «camping» in the fall a little more survivable.

Tent camped here for a night — decent place, but a few issues:
— fire pit at site #32 was practically unusable. the concrete was disintegrating, so it didn’t serve much of a purpose. It looked like they were in the middle of replacing the older fire rings, though, so hopefully this will stop being a problem shortly.
— the campsite across the river share just 2 side-​by-​side pit toilets with just one spigot for water. not ideal! there’s another bathroom on the other side of the river for the RV’s and campers over there, which apparently also has showers.
— big wheelbarrows are provided for getting all your gear across the bridge to campsites over there. but people bring them over and don’t return them, and in the morning when people are checking out, there aren’t enough to go around.
— tent camping sites 31, 32, 33 aren’t very private at all. we were lucky to have empty sites on both sides though. These sites were also up a hill. I would go for site 30 closer to the river (and not up a hill!!!) which is just next to one yurt.
— tent camping site 31 is closest to the bathroom. I doubt you’d want to stay there.
Other than that, though, it’s a great park. The campground hosts were really friendly and will bring you a bundle of firewood for $ 5. They come around every so often in a little golf cart thing to make sure everyone’s doing ok. The river is really nice, and there’s a good view of the mountains. Sometimes load boats go up and down the river, and you can hear quite a few planes flying over head so there must be a small airport nearby.
Having been there, and looking at the camping map, I would recommend site 30, or possibly ³⁴⁄₃₅ if you want to be less out in the open.

I took both my Girl Scout troops here for camping in the yurts. The yurts are fairly new and comfy and plenty big enough to sleep 7. I took a little day trip there before taking the girls and the river was very swollen due to the rain and the runoff from the mountains, but when I took my older girl group at the end of June the river had thinned enough to allow for us to go wading.
The heat in the yurts was nice for my little girls (1^st grade) because even though we camped in June, it was pretty cold and rainy that weekend. Although a few of the girls were scared of the bridge (it is HIGH and it can sway a bit), by the end of our weekend, they were fine with it. The camp hosts have wagons to help you carry your gear across the bridge. The facilities on the yurt side (across the bridge) are just pit toilets but they didn’t stink at all (even the 2^nd time I went and it was hot outside) and were regularly cleaned out. There are showers and flush toilets on the other side. We did have a bit of a hard time finding hiking trails, all the trails seemed to be more bike oriented and they were very steep.
With the bigger girls (4 — 6 grade) we were there a day longer and we got to do more around Carnation. We went over to Remlinger Farms and berry picked. We waded in the river.
Both groups had a really good time and even though you’re close to a town, you feel like you’re out far. It was nice to be so close to a town, though, in case you forgot things or needed more firewood or whatever. The camp hosts were super nice too!

Great local park, never been camping there but would definitely give it a try. The mountain bike trails are great but are easy to get lost on — so go with a group! (Try
). And you will have to go up a pretty steep hill first (IAB, figure it out…)
Nice river, nice environment, and you can never have too many parks!

I dig this park, even good to camp in, walk around. Heck I saw a bear here eating blackberries (i too was eating them) did you know their black bear poop turns blackberry purple during the blackberry season,

Mountain Biking Review:
Pretty scenery and a good ride up the hill, but MAN the trails were very hard to find. We found one that was fun but it took us back to the bottom of this big hill we had to then climb again. that was a disappointment. As far as finding any other trails, we couldn’t. We found one that looked like it used to be a trail, but it was massively overgrown.
Don’t think I’d give this place another chance for biking.
As far as the park’s beauty, though, it is definitely there. They have a beautiful bridge that crosses the river and then a bunch of cabins for camping.
I think I’d only come pack here to relax or for a picnic.
