Julie at Lucid has been cutting my hair since I moved to the area five years ago. She is superb. She does a great job for a super fair price. That would be plenty to earn my repeat business. The fact that I legitimately look forward to our 30 minutes of hanging out while I’m in her chair is pure gravy. She’s as good at shooting the breeze as she is at cutting the hair. I should add that she also cuts my wife and two little girls’ hair. We all love Julie… she’s the best!

Love Julie! I always have to go to the city if I want my hair cut, since I’m very picky. But I came in earlier today for cut, & partial highlights. She ended up doing a bayalage on me, not only do I love my haircut, but I was very satisfied with how blended the color was compared to how it looked before.
Lucid only earned 4 stars from me because Kellie (nail tech) no longer works for Lucid. She was hands down the best.

Had Allison cut my hair December 2013. It was long, near my butt, and wanted it a little below my collar bone since I was sick of it. Decided that since Gossip (the salon she worked at at the time) was 5 minutes from my house and had pretty good reviews that I would go there for a change.
WORST. DECISION. OF. MY. LIFE.
Blunt is an understatement. NO ONE wants the ends of their hair to be blunt as if they’d been chopped with a butter knife by a 3 year old, but that’s exactly the haircut I got. After butchering it, she then said to me, «Okay, now I’m going to feather out the bottom so it doesn’t look as blunt,» but all that did was make the cut even shorter and uglier than I anticipated. It ended up being above my collarbone and beyond hideous. I felt completely helpless at that point because the damage had been done, and no amount of me complaining about it was going to help. I still cannot believe I PAID for that cut. It’s been a year and I am STILL traumatized. In writing this review I hope people will steer clear from this woman. She clearly does not know what she is doing and should not have a career in hair styling.

I braved this location again after hearing about Amber and it was a great experience. Amber listened to what I wanted, asked me a few questions and then did her magic. I’ve been modifying the color of my hair as I am getting gray ones (thank you to my 4 boys for that!). Amber suggested going with more of an ash color to blend in with my grays and it came out great.
I had a few photos on pinterest to show how I would like my haircut to look and she checked them out, gave me some feedback and took care of me.
I was very happy with the finished look and the whole experience. I was relaxed and looking good! Unfortunately all that zen was undone when I picked up 2 of my boys from school and there was a scuffle in the car on the way home. SIGH

Stopped in because my stylist couldn’t get me in and I needed a cut badly. Never again will I just walk into a salon. The salon was fairly busy, yet no one could come greet me. It was like I was bothering them by trying to give them my business. Didn’t see a salon manager or owner present either. Not sure how that works. The haircut was good, but will never return because of the customer service

Heather is very talented and professional — very good men’s haircuts at great prices! I recommend her whenever I get the opportunity!

I purchased a groupon because I was in need of a chop, badly! Danielle cut my hair, and she did an amazing job! I showed her a few pictures and she gave me exactly what I was looking for. I was a little in a daze because I decided to take off a LOT of length, and I was a bit in shock so I didn’t get a chance to thank her properly. When I got home and looked in the mirror, I was super excited. It looks awesome! Will definitely come back!

I like to keep my hair long so I usually only end up getting 2 – 3 haircuts per year. However, I impulsively bought a Groupon for Lucid since it’s so close to my house. I came here on a Saturday afternoon and the salon was more crowded than I had expected. Allison washed and cut my hair just as I had asked, but then again, I just wanted a trim…

I tried Lucid once and won’t be returning. I got a cut and color by Melissa and was unimpressed with the end result and her customer service during my time at the salon. I was asked verbally what color I wanted, and then she mixed and applied it without showing a color sample to make sure I agreed with what color she was using. The color wasn’t left in for long enough, so I ended up with an obvious root color difference — I think she was aware of this as she asked me to move away from the «harsh salon lights» and step into the less well lit area at the front if the store before giving me a mirror. She cut my hair without checking what I was doing with the layers, and tried to convince me it was «cute». It wasn’t.
It seemed as if she was doing a job, rather than offering a service she was passionate about. Talk was faltering, and she openly criticized chain and other salons. Seemed all pretty unprofessional.

I purchased a groupon for keratin treatment with Agatha Lolils. Let me just say that she was great and I’m completely satisfied with her service. She has a nice warm personality and opened up to me immediately and I really enjoyed the whole experience.
The only part I didn’t like and I want to be clear that it isn’t about the money at all. I bought the treatment on groupon but I was charged extra to ‘cover’ for extra product used on my hair. I have shoulder length hair and I’m not African so what extra product? If you’re going to charge extra you should put it in fine print in the Groupon because it isn’t right to not let customer know in advance what the cost is. Once again it’s not about the money, it’s really about whether it’s ethical to charge extra to a customer who bought a certificate. What if it was a gift groupon? it would be embarrassing for the gifter if the recipient had to pay out of pocket. Please do it right. Otherwise, I had a good experience with Agatha, she was great throughout the appointment!

I had Melissa AS WELL. I had a groupon for a full highlight, cut, moroccan oil and style.
She didnt highlight my hair, she just started putting color on my roots… yes color not bleach. My hair was ORANGE. I asked her to fix it because it was orange and she said it was just the lighting and brought me to the window. Still orange. So all she did was put toner on it. Still orange. She was also working on another client during all of this. And she let me leave with wet hair. I called a bunch of times but no response or calls back. Highly unprofessional. I had to go to another salon to get it fixed.

I’ve been getting my hair done by Julie for almost 5 years and I can say that she is more than just a hair stylist, she’s an artist! I can be very picky about my haircuts and color because I have thick, slow growing hair, and I usually rely on a magazine cut out or internet print out to show a stylist, and they almost never get it right! With Julie, I can calmly show up to my appointment, and she already has a vision in mind. Her confidence and creative personality show through in her technique, and she’s always adding to her knowledge and precision with hair by continuing her education and attending hair shows every year. I always look forward to my appointments with her whether I’m looking for something conservative or a fun and trendy style. Not only are the hair cuts great, I highly recommend her for highlights, color, and Keratin smoothing treatments.
The salon itself is beautiful and has a comfortable atmosphere that is welcoming to people of all walks of life. It’s location is convenient and the staff is helpful and friendly. They have a comfortable sitting area, plenty of magazines, and coffee :) You truly feel pampered after you leave Lucid Salon.

went there for Groupon, extremely dissatisfied. Orange highlights just as another customer said. tried to get corrected with Melissa, told her my hair pulled red and the highlights would need to be dyed, but instead of taking my advice she only put toner over them and they turned orange again. she had not answered any of my calls or refuses to talk to me after that. has not responded to giving me refund. DONT GO HERE IF U WANT PROFESSIONAL COLOR RESULTS.

Heather and Danielle were amazing. My hair as well as my entire bridal party looked phenomenal the day of my wedding! They were super quick and awesome on time. I never had a worry about running late. I can’t tell you how many weddings I have been in where hair took too long and this was def NOT the case for my wedding. Also, they do what YOU want with your hair on your special day– not what they think will look good which so many stylists do! I would recommend them 100x over!!!

I’ve been going here for about 5 years. This last time I went I was quite on happy. I showed her a picture of what I wanted which was a girl with brown hair and chunky blonde highlight framing my face. She said okay and she started. In the end I got jet black hair and tiny thin blonde highlights you can’t even see. I paid $ 100 to get hair that I hate. Great. And even if I went back to get it re-​done it would have fried my hair. I’m pissed.

Heather & Danielle are the real deal :) As a hairstylist, I am EXTREMELY PICKY! Not only do they work fast, they do an AMAZING job. I think there were about 10 girls getting their hair done-​two were children. I mean, even the little girls hair looked amazing! I am just constantly impressed by all of their work. I also get my hair colored & cut with Heather… :) Needless to say– if you want a kick A** set of Hairstylists that are GREAT, fast and super nice… they are your girls :)

If you go, see Julie Anderson. She’s been cutting my hair for years and she’s the best. Great stylist and all around amazing person. You won’t be sorry. She’s full of great ideas if you’re bored too.

i was there for a haircut & partial highlight. I am happy with the output. what annoyed me was the wait time. the place is nice & clean
I was there 15 min late (my false). The stylist told me that the person before me arrived early. so, she already started some work on her. she asked whether it’s ok for me to wait once she is done with the treatment for that client, she will work on me. I responded yes to that reasonable ask. My wait was 1 hr. She switched and worked on me for ~20 min and then switched back to work on the other client. Again, i had to wait for ~1 hr. My whole process is about ~45 min with 2 hrs wait time.
based on the actual time, even if me and the other client arrive on time for our slot, one of us will have a ridiculous wait time. I don’t know if they just intend to take a lot of reservations, very tight to one another in order to get more clients to make more $$ out of it or something.

My stylist is Julie Anderson and I’ve been going to her for several years now. I actually followed her to Lucid from her previous location. It’s the first time I have had someone who knows how to cut naturally curly hair. She also has wonderful coloring mixing skills and I’ve had many many compliments on my color and cut since going to her.
When I stared seeing her my hair was long. A couple of years ago I had her cut it really really short and now I’m growing it out again. I have yet to have that «grow out phase» where you just want to cut it short again. She has kept it looking good and it’s already down to my shoulders again.
