I’ve purchased paint and supplies here a few times and really appreciate the knowledge of the people who work here. I am not a professional painter but just a homeowner who likes to do a professional job when painting his home.
The people know their paint and can answer questions unlike the big box stores. One example, I have a deck with a wooden railing. Some of the railing is constructed from two pieces of wood and with the Chicago weather, the wood expands and contracts which leaves an unsightly gap in the railing. Years of caulking it with big box stuff never worked. I asked the staff here if they offered a product that would stand up to the temperature changes and not dry and fall out in a couple years. They had a professional grade caulk that went on smoothly and was paintable. I applied it two summers ago when I stained the deck and it worked and looks great today.
Did I pay more, Yes. Did I save more than I paid because I don’t have to do the work over and I have a better finished product. Yes. To me it’s worth it.
