Carpinteria has done a superb job of fitting viewing options for we the people along the banks of one of the few marshlands left on the California coast. You can spot egrets, the infamous lesbian seagulls, cranes, pelicans and a lot of strange and beautiful people taking in the scenery. The bathroom nearby is clean and well cared-for, a much needed utility for good road-trippers or day passers beach-bound.

Carpinteria Salt Marsh Nature Park is one of California’s most important wetlands and home to many endangered plants and birds. There are exhibits to read and trails to follow. There is ample parking and a clean bathroom for the pubic to use. The marsh is located right next to Carpinteria City Beach. Beautiful and scenic, this is a must see if you’re in the Carpinteria area.
