Great experience here. They were highly receptive to my concerns about the car and clearly worked overtime to get my car back to me before Christmas. On top of that, they threw in interior and exterior detailing. Wonderful people!
My car definitely came back looking like new.

I own a 2013 BMW 328i. I scraped my front bumper on a wooden railing and the bumper needed to be repainted. I first went to a fine auto repair shop that I had used many years ago The quote I got seemed very high. Since this repair was coming out of my own pocket, I checked for alternatives and found KNS in Carrboro. I got a significantly lower quote from Keith, the owner of KNS. (He had no knowledge of the original quote). He explained in detail the service they would provide, including complete removal of the bumper and the care they would take in re-​assembly. So I decided to give them the business. They did a terrific job, happily taking care of a small issue. I cannot tell the repainted bumper from the original paint job. The car was ready when promised and their staff was customer focused, including providing a ride home a short distance away. They saved me a lot of money and I got a first-​class job.

I literally just rushed home from KNS Auto Collision in my car just to write this review.
I shopped around to 4 places in the area for my repair (side view mirror replacement) and was given quotes of $ 160 on average for the service alone (not including the part). Some said I would have to wait a day for the service. Some were shady about how long it would take and seemed to be exaggerating estimates. KNS Automotive did it in about 15 minutes and charged me $ 35 for the service. The staff was also very friendly. Bottom line: I will never go anywhere else again.

I have a five year old Tahoe that had a few signs of wear and tear, as any car would after 5+ years of service. After getting a full tune up, tires and fluids at my favorite auto mechanic, Chapel Hill Tire, I told them I wanted to have some cosmetic things addressed, explaining this was ‘elective’ surgery — i.e. no insurance claim. They recommended KNS, and I spoke with the owner Keith shortly thereafter.
They were just great to work with — and the work they did was flawless. Best of all, they were very reasonable, and when I came to pick it up they had also detailed my car. It looks like new, and I highly recommend KNS to anyone wanting quality work, reasonably priced. Oh, and their entire team is a pleasure to deal with.

Keith got me a used part in good condition for ¼ of the price that Toyota was trying to sell a new one for. No other collision place was willing to do that for me. All of the other prices were unbeatable. I highly recommend KNS to anyone.

Keith Newman, the owner of KNS Collision of Carrboro, NC, is an unscrupulous and dishonest man, and I advise you to read this whole review before bringing your car to him for any kind of automotive work.

My car had been backed into in a parking lot, which scraped the front bumper in three areas, but the person who had done it was kind enough to leave a note. I brought my car to Keith Newman of KNS Collision, because at the time, his business had only 5-​star reviews with nothing but good things to say. After a short wait, I was greeted by Keith, and we went outside to take a look at my car. I described my situation and showed him the three areas that had been scraped. I asked if these scrapes could be buffed out completely, and after telling me that these were light scratches that did not penetrate the clear coat and could be buffed out, I asked again if they could be buffed out 100%, hoping to restore my car to pre-​accident condition. Keith re-​assured me that he could and that he would do it for $ 75 and that if it was not back to 100% and I was not satisfied, he would not charge me for his work. This sounded a little expensive just for buffing a few areas, but the promise that, if I was not satisfied, I would not be charged made him seem like a good person, and I would gladly give my business to a person like him. He told me to come by at anytime the next day.

I brought my car back to KNS Collision, and one of his employees came into the room to get me, and I showed him the three areas that would need to be buffed. After about 30 minutes, my car was back and ready to go. Keith walked me out to show me my car, and as soon as we exited the front door, he stopped cold in his tracks and took a long, over-​dramatic gaze at my car. His employee had washed my car. That was a nice gesture, because my car was filthy from the pollen. He pointed out that it looked like a brand new car.
We walked over to the front of my car where then I take a close inspection of all three of the areas that had been scraped. His employee had done an okay job at buffing, but there were a few scrapes that could not be buffed out despite Keith’s claim that they could. One of the three scraped areas even looked untouched. Keith then pointed out that one of his guys did some extra buffing in one area, but there were still scrapes in that area when I looked at it, so he said that instead of $ 75, I would have to pay $ 120. He was going to charge me $ 45 extra even though I was not satisfied that the bumper was not restored to the condition that he promised. I was very skeptical at this point, but I went inside to see what would happen next.
He gave me an estimate for $ 285.73 and said that I would have to put down a $ 120 deposit for «Sand + Buff Front Bumper», which was hand-​written on the estimate. Something seemed completely off at this point. After reviewing the estimate, he had charged me 3.4 hours of «Paint Labor» at $ 45/​hr. and 3.4 hours of «Paint Supplies» at $ 30/​hr., but I didn’t have any paint work done to my car. It was also 10:30 AM, only an hour after I had stepped foot into his business. I pointed this out to him, and he completely avoided the issue and gave me an estimate for $ 438.73! He had increased the «Body Labor» from 0.5 hours to 3.9 hours! He told me this was the estimate that I should give to the insurance company of the person that bumped into my car. Both of these estimates were completely dishonest, and he was trying to scam me and the other person out of a lot of money. I asked for an estimate with ONLY the work that summed up to $ 120. He did as I requested, but after looking at that estimate, the $ 120 was listed as the price for a new bumper and categorized as «Miscellaneous». I told him that I wanted an estimate specifically for the buffing that had been done to my car. He then gave me an estimate for $ 81.50. He had increased the labor from the initial 0.5 hour to 1 hour, added a $ 20 «Materials» charge, and added a $ 15 charge for the car wash that previously had been complementary and had not been on any of the other estimates. I was tired of dealing with his deception and asked him to take off the $ 15 for the car wash. He gave me another estimate for $ 66.50. I paid him that amount and walked out with six estimates in hand.

Our car had a serious front bumper/​radiator damage. After calling in several places, we ended up at KNS Auto. They did a great job in replacing parts and repairing what could be salvaged, and went way below the estimates we received at other places.
If we ever find ourselves in need of a car repair, we will surely return to KNS Auto, and will recommend this place to all our friends! Great job guys!

I would definitely recommend this place. The service and work they did was amazing and quick. I recently ran over a tire on 40 and it tore off my front left liner and damage my bumper alittle, mainly the paint. I took my car to Kns cause of the reviews. The 1^st quote I got was with a paint job and more then I wanted to pay. Since the bumper damage wasn’t that bad, I asked if I could just get the bumper fix and ignore the paint job which they were able to do. The job they did was amazing, they were able to buff out the paint damage, replace the liner, and fix the left side light (and also change the bulb on the right side light) in a day. The car looks great

Someone put a hole in our back bumper in a parking lot with a trailer hitch. Went to KNS because of the good reviews. I’m adding mine. They did a fantastic job at a reasonable price. I was worried that they’d say I needed a new bumper, but no, they fixed it and it looks like new. In addition, we had to go out of state to a wedding in two days, and KNS was able to fix it in time for us to leave. Everyone there was very friendly and professional. Keith, the owner, is a good guy and easy to work with. I highly recommend KNS.

The best ever. Keith did everything to help me and made sure my car had the most perfect paint job. He additionally repaired what I thought was irreparable damage to my hood and radiator cage.

I send people to Keith all of the time when I’m asked for a recommendation — my work puts me in that position occasionally. I have always received rave reviews. I would say this is after 20 or more referrals at this point, so you can consider this 20 five star reviews.
Keith is a very nice person who obviously cares about his work. I’ve had him do work for me and was always impressed. Plus the car was returned to me much cleaner than I brought it to him. Absolutely the best in town, and his prices are really, really competitive.

I managed to bump another driver while trying to make a right turn. Her vehicle was fine and so was she but my Kia’s bumper was pushed in and leaking coolant. I got it home fine although the temperature gauge kept going up up up. I found KNS by the usual search engine, reviews… then I perused his website. It was very professional and well written so I gave him a call to set up an estimate. Friendly and knowledgeable, Keith raised the hood and proceeded to look for the damage. The damage was hiding in a less than noticeable spot so he asked permission to take the bumper off to get a proper approximation. After a thorough evaluation, he gave me a fair estimate and I gave him the go ahead. This all occurred on a Friday afternoon. He had the parts ordered for Monday. I had a call from him Wednesday telling me it was all done. When I arrived, he came out and showed me all the work that they had done, down to cleaning the interior, exterior, and engine. He even pointed out how his repair had saved me some money! What I paid was almost exactly what he had prescribed. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

I’ll start out by saying that I am a car freak, when I had time (pre-​kids) I was the guy who detailed with Q-​Tips. My wife was driving on I-​40 recently and a truck bounced a piece of fencing material out of the back and into the front end of her Prius. Keith and his crew not only fixed the front perfectly but they cleaned the car up so well it looks better than it has in years. I plan on getting them to do some overdue body work on my other cars in the very near future. Great work and great service.

Had a fender bender – pretty major. In fact, I thought it was going to run me at least $ 1k. All previous body work experience to vehicles I own had been done at dealers. So I was a bit apprehensive taking my car anywhere else, but thought what the heck – let’s at least get a couple of local quotes before going to the dealer (in Cary; I live in Chapel Hill). Based on Unilocal and citysearch ratings, and no BBB flags, I went to KNS in Carrboro. Thankfully I did. Not only was Keith (the owner) and his staff extraordinarily friendly, the estimate they gave me was way less than I expected based on previous repairs. They also fit me right in, and went beyond the call of duty by giving my vehicle a free detail – which they say is customary for all their repair jobs. The finished product was excellent – can’t tell that anything happened. Paint job was flawless – for pearl paint even. I was most impressed, and will certainly go with KNS again if I ever need to. This shop is truly as good as it gets!!! I highly recommend it.
