Appliance Fixx

We had Appliance Fixx replace both of our worn-​out York AC units with new Train high– efficiency units. They brought in seven (7) technicians to handle the job in one day. This was in the middle of a hot July. They were extremely fast and efficient. The crew had already completed an installation that morning and they had us going by the early evening.
Appliance Fixx also repairs my refrigerators and other appliances. They just put a new AC unit in my sister-​in-​laws house last month and she could not be happier. the price was right and she, a recent widow, said that Don saved her a lot of money.
Frankly, it bothers me when I see others complain that appliance Fixx charged them $ 85 to repair their AC unit. ALL repairmen charge one hour minimum. I own a telecommunications company and we charge $ 85 plus a trip charge to step on site. I was paying $ 85/​hr for appliance repairs 15 years ago! If your AC unit is 5+ years old, you most likely do need a new one soon. That’s because the newer units are made to only last that long. Some other tech will come in behind you, recharge the system and be on down the road. The coolant will get you though a week, month or even a year, but it will likely leak and you’re back to square one. Frankly, I would rather tell people the truth than what they want to hear.

I made an appointment with these guys to come to the house for a repair. They never showed up or called. When I called to see what happened, they said they goofed and had it down for a completely different day.
Then, the rude receptionist started talking in a very demeaning way. She would constantly cut me off when I tried to talk and kept putting words in my mouth that I never said. I thought I was in the Twilight Zone. It was as if she wanted me to beg her to send someone out. She kept trying to delay sending someone suggesting I wouldn’t pay for the visit. How moronic.
I finally got to a point that instead of rescheduling, I just canceled the appt. It wasn’t worth arguing with a rude, arrogant receptionist over their own mistakes.
There are MANY other reliable appliance repair companies around. Don’t use these guys. You’ll only get frustrated.

They charge $ 85 for the service call no matter what the problem. They were at my house for 7 min and I had to pay the $ 85 plus service tax… (which was not mentioned on the phone). $ 92 just for a visit.

Don from Appliance Fixx cam and looked at our AC. Even though my original suspicion was that it was just low on refrigerant he told me that the unit had gone bad and it has to be replaced. Fortunately I did not heed to his advice and called another person. The other guy not only agreed that it was a low refrigerant situation but also fixed the AC in a matter of minutes.
I had better expectations from Don and I am disappointed that he gave me wrong information just to sell me a new unit in peak summer. I will not do business with him.
