One Saturday in January 2010, I was shopping in my local Petco store, for treats for my cat Lexie. On that Saturday, as I have noticed on previous Saturdays, The non-profit organization K9Kat2, was there with rows of dogs in kennels that were up for adoption.
As I passed down one of the isles, I noticed one dog in particular, he was looking a little scruffy however, his eyes spoke to me. I talked briefly to the Animal Coordinator, Robbie Thomason, and she shared with me the background as to how and why Curly was placed in her care.
I rushed home with a picture of Curly, and on the way I called my husband. I started telling him all about Curly and how I wanted to adopt him, once there, I showed him his picture. We drove back to Petco with the picture in hand. Once there, my husband looked again at the picture and then at Curly in his kennel. My husband looked at me and said (that’s not the same dog!).
