WE’RENEVERGOINGBACK !! A few months ago we stopped by for ice cream — no chocolate ! We like chocolate, and while I realize that other people might like other flavors, chocolate has gotta be one of the best-selling flavors, right? We got some crazy excuse like there was no room for it in the display case — huh? How the heck can an ice cream store be outta chocolate? We took a chance and stopped by this evening — and guess what — AGAIN, NOCHOCOLATE !!! I had to ask again, «how the heck can ya be out of chocolate»? This time, an employee told me that they order it, but their supplier always forgets it — huh? Forgets once, OK — forgets it always — huh? And get this — when I suggest that they get another supplier, the employee mentioned that they’ve been out of it for a month !!! Out of chocolate for a month ??? Thank goodness there are other places to go for ice cream — tonight, we went to «Shakes» over by the Kroger, facing out onto Hebron — guess what– they had chocolate! And a nice smile, and a «thanks for your business» !!

Small little location that delivers goodness! I enjoy visiting this location when I am in the area. Place has a drive thru for those raining days. A few patio table for those nice summer days. I grew up spending many weekend night out with Baskin-Robbins. The service in this location is very nice and down to earth! They are family operated and have jazzed it up by serving breakfast sandwiches, coffee and donuts in the morning. The Baskin-Robbins history per their website: In 1954, Baskin-Robbins put their product on the line against their competitors at the Los Angeles County Fair. That year they won their first Gold Medal and set the pattern for county and state fair participation, earning Gold Medals for Baskin-Robbins Ice Cream every year since that first contest. «Not everyone likes all our flavors, but each flavor is someone’s favorite.» — Irv Robbins Baskin-Robbins continued to expand, and by the mid-1960s, the company had become an ice cream empire with more than 400 stores throughout the United States. In the 1970s the chain went international, opening stores in Japan, Saudi Arabia, Korea and Australia. Fun Fact: There are more than 7,300 Baskin-Robbins locations around the world, with more than 2,500 nationwide. Baskin-Robbins international locations feature flavors of ice cream popular to the tastes of each country, such as Red Bean and Green Tea. Baskin-Robbins«31®» was created to represent a different ice cream flavor for each day of the month. The«31 Flavors» concept was introduced into marketing efforts in 1953. Today Baskin-Robbins colors are pink and blue, but the original colors were brown(representing chocolate) and pink(representing cherry), and our famous polka dots represented circus balloons. The company founders, Burt Baskin and Irv Robbins, were brothers-in-law. Burt married Irv’s sister Shirley in 1942. Both Burt and Irv served during World War II. Burt was a Lieutenant in the U.S. Navy serving in the South Pacific. Irv was a Staff Sergeant in the Army, stationed in California. Burt owned a 1931 Rolls Royce® Phantom II, the world’s first 100 mph passenger car. Burt Baskin once met a man who told him, «Whoever thinks of all these flavors must be plumb nuts!» «Congratulations,» said Mr. Baskin. «You just invented a new flavor: Plum Nuts.“At the height of Beatlemania, just before the Beatle’s first U.S. tour, a reporter from The Washington Post called Irv Robbins and asked what new flavor would honor the Beatles. The truth was, Baskin-Robbins had not invented a Beatles flavor. Caught unprepared, Mr. Robbins replied, «Uh, Beatle Nut, of course.» It was created, manufactured and delivered in just five days. Following a trip to New Orleans, Irv and Irma Robbins were enjoying some souvenir pralines at home when inspiration hit. They rushed to the kitchen, mixed the pralines with Vanilla ice cream and a caramel ribbon – and Pralines ‘n Cream was born. It was such a hit that stores all over the country began running out. Advice columnist Dear Abby pleaded in print for its return. Headquarters received petitions with hundreds of signatures. And in Santa Barbara, students picketed local stores until Baskin-Robbins delivered a special production run of the flavor. It has been a permanent flavor ever since. Irv originally wanted to open his first Snowbird store in the San Francisco Bay Area. On a trip to Los Angeles to talk with suppliers, he noticed a «For Rent» sign in a store window down the street from the Forest Lawn Cemetery. That store became the first Snowbird store, and then the first Baskin-Robbins® store. Ernie Robbins, Irv’s father, convinced Burt and Irv to first open separate stores rather than go into partnership together, so they could each experience what it was like to make their own decisions. That decision lead to Irv opening Snowbird and Burt opening Burton’s.The top 5 selling Baskin-Robbins ice cream flavors are Vanilla, Chocolate, Mint Chocolate Chip, Pralines ‘n Cream and Chocolate Chip. Jamoca® Almond Fudge ice cream was first developed to be made from coffee brewed on the premises of each of the fifteen manufacturing facilities. All Baskin-Robbins chocolate ice creams originally were comprised of an exclusive blend of three cocoas. The creation of Very Berry Strawberry ice cream was initially created with a special strawberry created and grown exclusively for Baskin-Robbins. Since 1945, they have created more than 1,300 unique and delicious ice cream flavors.

No military discount **** Employee seems irritated about doing their job, when informed it was our first time visiting their establishment the employee looks at us like they had discovered a new species of retard. Our hesitation to our new found discovery of high quality ice cream was astonishing which added to the employees irritation. Long story short, overpriced overall. You will have a better experience shopping at Braums. No I’m not paid by Braums to make that obviously remark! Oh and the servings are way BIGGER at Braums, spare me any future comments about quality not quantity.

Customer service… over done. Ok…I get helping a customer. But if they say they do not need help… and you continue to stand over them as they are browsing the cake selection… they will get fed up! Lady: «Can I help you» Me: «No…Im trying to figure out what cake I want for my dad» Lady: «What flavor would you like» Me: «I am not sure… hince me trying to figure it out» Then she just stood there inches from me. Finally I asked if she usually stands and watches people as they are trying to pick a cake. COMEON… personal space… time to consider what my options are!!! I don’t even know what cake I just bought… I just wanted her out of me face. NOTEVERGOINGBACK… will chose diff location next time.

This location of Baskin-Robbins is connected onto a Dunkin Donuts. This location is often quiet, and is the place to go if you quickly want to run in and grab something. The staff is very nice, and the place is clean. However, if I want the ice cream palor experience, this location would not be my top pick,

This Baskin shares the same space with a Dunkin Donuts, so don’t be surprised to see ice cream and baked goods/coffee in the same space. There’s even a patio space for enjoying your food outdoors. We were waited on by a young man who was helpful in giving us tastings of some of the more unusual offerings the day we visited. The standout was the«Movie Popcorn with Caramel» flavor that actually tasted as advertised(and happens to be the closest to corn ice cream that I’ve yet tried in the metroplex). However, I stuck to my normal leanings and ordered chocolate almond. Unfortunately the idea sounded better in my head than the actual taste of it; I barely even made it a quarter of the way through before I dumped the whole cup in a nearby trash. I imagine I just need to find a flavor that suits me before my impression of Baskin Robbins changes.

I was desperate for ice cream so I revisited this place, even though I had a blah-experience last time. MUCHBETTER this time around. The lines were long and it did take a while to get ice cream since, again, there were only 2 people there on a busy Sunday afternoon taking care of drive thru and in-store orders. However, the staff were really nice and you could tell they were doing their best– unlike my last visit. As for the store managers, step it up and hire more staff! I could sense that the customers were getting antsy, the line stretched out to the door making it difficult for people to get inside or leave.

They have a drive-thru! Close-ish to the 121. But, seriously now. I eat ice cream and froyo so often and so much that I should get paid for my reviews. When visiting Baskin-Robbins I’ve been on a malt kick for quite some time now. Although I am very picky about the consistency of my malts. To say the least I was quite skeptical about ordering a malt through the drive-thru. I was asked to clarify when I got to the actual window, but the results were worth it! Best malt I’ve had at a BR in a minute or so! I found the customer service not to be overly friendly, but very far from rude.

I will never come here again. Poor customer service, and lack of respect for waiting customers is the reason. I waited in line at this Baskin Robbins for over 10 minutes. There were only two people working the store on a very busy summer night, plus they had to man the drive through. Summer = ice cream, so you’d think they would have at least one or two more people working. After waiting, and waiting… and waiting… the younger girl working the counter simply skipped over me and began waiting on the folks behind me. The male customer in front of me(who was apparently trying to feed an entire family of 6 on ice cream) had the nerve to laugh at me and said, «well, I guess they missed you.» Jack@&&! After I brought it to the worker’s attention that they skipped me, she did not even acknowledge me at all. I suppose she was embarrassed, but most likely didn’t care. She just kept on a scoopin’ and didn’t even look at me. The manager who was right by her also did not address me. It was like I was invisible. So, I simply turned to the rude and apparently mute people behind me, and said, «you know very well I was here before you.» They just looked at me. Again… nothing. Then, deciding to cut my losses, I left. And went to Braums… I should have gone there in the first place! This place is a combo store with a Dunkin’ Donuts. too bad. America may run on Dunkin’, but they won’t be running anywhere but away if the employees of this store keep treating their customers this way.
