Michael Jordan (founder) began tutoring the SAT and ACT after graduating from the University of North Texas with a degree in education. After teaching in public Texas classrooms for four years, Michael officially opened Direction Tutors in 2014 to pursue teaching the SAT and ACT full-​time.

As a high school teacher in Dallas, Texas, Direction Tutors founder Michael Jordan was troubled by the flawed systems designed to help his students improve their standardized test scores.

Michael scored in the 99^th percentile on the SAT, ACT, and PSAT. He knew from his experiences as a high school student, graduate from a prestigious performance arts program, and a full-​time educator that the best results didn’t come from an out-​of-​the-​box solution. In 2013, he took action and began tutoring students in his free time to give them the one-​on-​one attention and personalization he knew was necessary to achieve the best outcome.

It worked – the results were incredible. Michael’s students surpassed their goals. As word spread, his «free-​time gig» quickly turned into his life’s passion and full-​time career. He founded Direction Tutors in 2014 to give more DFW students access to premier test prep.
