We have gone to Brake O for the last 10 years Jerry and his team have worked on 4 of our cars. Every time we go their my husband and I are so impressed with the honesty and work ethic of the shop. If you car does need something repaired they tell you it does not need it. Fair pricing, cars are clean after work has been done and service is terrific! A true gem in the car repair service world. We never trade anywhere else. You must give them your business you won’t be sorry you did.

We had such a great experience with the repair of my husband’s car that we went back with my car just to make sure we really were impressed. We were! Jerry was super nice and explained all that they would do. I had a small list and they took care of everything with very very reasonable prices to my standards. Josey Ranch Auto Repair was booked, but they were courteous and supportive. If I hadn’t needed my vehicle repaired A.S.A.P., or I would have left it with them. They were happy to recommend another shop, and discuss the problem with me. They also let me camp out in their lobby while I arranged for a tow and called the other shop. Should the need arise, Iwill be bringing them my business.

This update should have been done last year. We took the car back to Brake-​o in 2014 and it turned out that we needed to replace the master cylinder. They replaced it and gave a fair price for the work. We were still having some trouble with it the next week so I called and told them about it. They asked me to bring it back in and when I did they drove it and the brakes seemed fine. A few days later it seemed to be losing pressure again so I called and they told me to bring it back in and they were just going to replace the master cylinder with another new one. They did the work and here we are the following year with no a problems! So bottom line is that they stand by their work!

Everyone here is very friendly and professional. I usually work with James or Brian and find they always make me feel great about doing business with them. Their labor rates are below the dealership rates and the work they do is always perfect and they ensure that you are completely satisfied. Count on excellent service and great people who care and have been doing business in Carrollton for nearly 20 years! They have helped me save money and not charged me for work that I «thought» I needed but they told me otherwise and were right! Honesty is found here for sure!

I found these guys here, actually. & I’m glad. My experience here was about the same as the reviewers below me: The Best Experience In An Auto Repair Business. It was my first time at Brake-o’s, & it was a good time, although I did have to get my front brake pads replaced & truly had to replace both my rotors, because they could not be turned. Jerry, the owner, showed me the damage, which was nice & honest. Since my rotors are the big ones that Ford put in the 500’s, I did have to spend close to $ 400, but James found me a coupon online which took off close to 40 bucks. & I thank you, James. (: It really is a sweet & honest business with these guys & I will continually come here with my car problems.

Completely astonished by how great the service is here, James was the name of the man that attended me. This was the best experience I’ve had with any type of mechanic, I came to brake-​o with a used car that I had bought that was making a bad break squeal. These guys took care of my problem the same day and at a reasonable price. Needless to say I recommend anyone in the Dallas area to come here, they don’t just do brakes they’re a auto shop so oil changes etc with appointment but very worth it take my word!

I have never had a better experience with an auto mechanic. They are the most wonderful and honest people I have come across in the industry. And we all know how hard it is to find honest mechanics.
I was heading to work and my car wouldn’t turn on. I called a few places and asked if they would be willing to come by my place and jump start my car and then I can follow them to their shop and get my car fixed. After no luck I came across brakeo and the guy sent a technician over in 10 min! I had him do a few services and told him I needed a wheel alignment as well.
When I came back after hanging out at braums, he told me I didn’t need a wheel alignment at all but that one of tires was very low in pressure which caused the car to pull to one side. Wow! They could have charged me $ 75 easily and I wouldn’t have even known. My car drives well after a very long time.
They have well over exceeded my expectations and I will be back. Please give them a try. You won’t regret it at all !

It’s a rare thing in today’s world of big box car repair shops to find a locally owned, honest to goodness small business that does great work. The guys at Brakeo are honest and charge fees that are fair and below the bigger companies that have to fund their advertising campaigns by passing the cost on to the consumer. Let me put it this way. I would send my wife, my daughter, or even my 90 year old grand mother here for car repair and would not worry for one second that they would be taken advantage of. I highly recommend this shop for any and all car repairs (don’t be fooled by the name. They are a full service shop). They guarantee their work and stand behind their word. Go visit Brakeo today. Honest and reliable mechanics are hard to find, but I will highly recommend this shop to everyone. They explained everything clearly and were very upfront. I never felt I was being taken advantage of. I went to another brake shop asking them to fix my rear brakes and they tried to upsale me on several repairs that I knew that I didn’t need. I went to Brake-​O with the same request and they checked everything out and only fixed what needed to be fixed. They explained that everything else looked good. They did great work, had good customer service, and got the job done quickly. On top of doing good work they went the extra mile. I asked if they did inspections because mine was expired, and they indicated that they did not. When I went to pick up my truck they let me know that they went ahead and put my new license plates on my truck (which were sitting on my backseat because I just got them in the mail and had not yet put them on), they found my insurance card in the glove box, and took my truck to the inspection shop next door and already had my truck inspected for me when I arrived to pick it up. That is customer service that you will only get from a great mechanic shop that values customers and wants to make sure you are treated fairly. You will never get that kind of service from a auto repair chain that only cares about maximizing profits and drawing customers with advertising and gimicks. Don’t take your vehicle anywhere else for brakes.

I have to agree with all the good reviews I read here. These guys are just great, from the owners to the mechanic who does the work. They are competent, very helpful, patient with women who don’t know very much about cars, and most of all competitively priced. They are so easy going, you will not feel at all pressured or «talked down to». Plus, if you have the same experience I’ve had, you will be very satisfied with the work. If you live near Carrollton, take your car here and check them out!

Fantastic experience with these guys. We have an off-​warranty Dodge Stratus that my kids are driving and it was time for some service work. We had been using Russ Martin Automotive with good results, but that’s now closed.
I checked out the ratings on this site and others for the Dodge dealerships and they were pretty abysmal, as expected. I invested some time researching independent options and came across this place. The reviews were great and I really like that it’s a family business… that’s a sign that they’re in it for the long haul, not like those dealership ‘service managers’.
I called them and Jerry answered and booked an appointment for me. He took the time to understand what I was bringing the car in for and he told me who I would be dealing with when I brought it in.
When I took the car in, James was there to take down the details. It was fast and easy. James called during the day to keep me in the loop. I’m very satisfied with the work they did (and didn’t do, because they reported that it was unnecessary) and the price they charged for it.
We also need to get the front bumper cover replaced and James has offered to call around to their contacts to see if they can find a good used one.
My first experience with these guys was top-​shelf. We’ll be using them for this car for as long as we own it if the next experience is consistent with this one.

Being a young woman who knows nearly nothing about cars, I have been raised to be weary about shiesty mechanics. So, I typically will visit 3 or 4 places before I decide who to trust is telling me the truth. I got estimates on my brakes from two other places before deciding on Brake-​O (Josey Ranch Auto Repair). The first place gave me a ridiculous estimate of all the things they wanted to do to my vehicle, mind you, I went in for brakes. I laughed at the $ 1000+ estimate, then advised him to give me a bare minimum quote. So, he said my front brake pads and roters needed replacing and my back brake pads could go a few more weeks. That sounded more like the truth. The second place told me the opposite, back needed replacing now and front could go a few more weeks. I think he was confused. At Brake-​O, they took my brakes apart and escorted me to the garage, explaning everything about brakes and showing me these little measurement sticks that help you see what the width on your brake pads should be. Their estimate was under the other two places for the same services and he gave me the online coupon, which I had no clue existed.
A few hours later, my brakes were finished and I was ready to go. They even attempted to fix my finnicky blinker, without me mentioning it, but of course it’s back to being bad again.
The lobby area isn’t all that comfortable. They did offer me the use of their wi-​fi, but I wasn’t able to connect to it. I had a friend pick me up instead. There are a lot of businesses within walking distance if you need to kill some time.
I feel like I received good service at Brake-​O and I will definitely come back.

I can’t say enough about these guys. Everyone should know, if you have a car issue, make sure you call these guys. Their pricing is competitive and they do a really good job. I have taken multiple cars there and they always charge a fair amount for really good service. They don’t try to charge you for extras and they explain what is going on. I have never had an issue with their work, but I have no doubt that they would take care of it if I did. They even went the extra mile of working with my warranty to save me the hassle of doing it. The do a lot more than just brakes and a good mechanic is hard to find. Definitely worth a call if you are in need!!!
