Kids R Kids Learning Academy of Castle Hills

We had little experience with this school and it was a bad one. When me and my husband started to look for preschools for our toddler, this school came across as a good option after visiting 5 other places around the area. We were impressed with how the teachers took time to show us around the campus and explain all the activities that the kids do to learn and grow. The place was neat and clean too. There was another parent who gave her review to us that she was very happy with the school. Obviously, me and my husband decided to get our child enrolled here.
They said there were 2 more spots left in the class and that our kid could start
immediately. We started doing the paper work and my child’s pediatrician also faxed them the medical and immunization records etc. The next day, we sent our kid to the school, only for half a day since we wanted to try it there, take it slow from half day to full day after a week. While so much happened, I got an email from the director that evening that they cannot enroll my child. The reason they gave me was that there was no spot in the class. It came as a shock to me since 2 days ago they said they had a spot in the class. They have also let us try the school for a day in to see how my child will adjust. Did they not know earlier that they can’t let him enroll?
How can anyone commit to something so important when they cannot deliver? I was very disappointed and felt violated. If their communication is so poor, how can I trust my child’s profile with them? I got my own doubts on how well they communicate everything else related to kids. I found a better school where we felt more welcoming. Comfort is the most important thing while leaving your kids with a new group of people. After what happened to us, I certainly did not feel comfortable with this school board.
If you decided to enroll your kids there, please double or triple check that they stick to what they promise to you.

This was by far one of the best child care facilities our family has found. Our son just now started his fourth daycare and if not for the fact that we moved 45 minutes away we would still be attending kids r kids castle hills. The staff here I s so attentive and the director took pride in putting every parent at ease about their child’s care and well being. Any change that happened with teachers or staff was immediately brought to the attention of the parents. The phone was answered promptly by staff each and every time I called and the tadpoles reporting system was phenomenal. I especially loved the live video feed and the director of the center willingly offered to replay any portion of the day to make sure that each child was being cared for in an attentive and loving manner. We were only here for two and a half months but they were the best months we had since starting daycare because I felt that the teachers and staff cared for my son as well as I could have. I only wish we could have continued our son’s care at this facility. The daycare we went to after this one left to be desired compared to kid r kids.

I hesitate to even give KRK Castle Hills one star. We moved my 2 year to this daycare in hopes he would learn more and have more structure than his previous daycare. After 3 months, his room had had 4 different teachers. I understand some turnovers at this type of institution but never had I seen it that high before.
The director there is also horrible. There was zero communication which is a little strange because of all the emails they send out and report cards they fill out. All fluff communication that means nothing. My 2 year old refused to take naps and refused to be entertained for 2 hours in an office or at a table with a puzzle or book. The result of this? He was kicked out after a few weeks of this. The director’s had 2 solutions for me when they first alerted me of the problem. 1. Bring a toy (which is funny because anyone with a 2 year old can confirm one toy will entertain for 10 – 15 minutes max). 2. Pick him up during naptime from 12 – 2 (which is funnier because I work full time hence having him in daycare). AND her expert opinion also suggested they thought my child was deaf because he wasn’t listening! Again, he is a 2 year old. My overall view of SOME of the staff and the directors? Lazy. They expect you to pay premium while they can do the minimum. The smart board was usually turned on to you tube videos as well. So don’t be fooled.
Oh, and update. He is back at his old daycare where he is napping 1 – 2 hours a day. Guess I should have listened to my kid and took him out before he got kicked out.
