Mustang Park Apartments

I’ve dealt my many apartment complexes and In the beginning the process was okay but at move out is when the issues arise. They have had management turnover to many times without a smooth transition that things get lost. Example. When we moved in we paid the deposit for the cable and for an accent wall. They cable deposit was applied correctly but not the accent wall deposit so they credited it back to our account and still painted the wall. They claim they did not know what the funds were for so the returned the money instead of placing a courtesy call to ask about the extra money order we gave to them.
So when we moved out they wanted to charge us to paint the wall back and a pet fee but we never had pets and we also put on our application when it asked if we had pets. They said well we don’t know what you guys may do when your in the privacy of your apartment. If we stated we do not own pets and one of the leasing agents lives in our building why would break a contract we signed stating we do not own a pet. They claim the have to go by the estimate of the carpet cleaners. Them when trying to get all the chargers together the manager had the worst communication skills ever! Every Time we communicated was because I placed the call or drove back to the complex because I felt the final bill process was taking entirely to long. When I felt I was not getting any results I called Chicago to speaking with the billing agent and she sent a email on my behalf to try and come up with some sort or resolution and to try and expedite the process. I’d say maybe a week or two later we get an email with a new final balance but out of courtesy the manger of the complex could of placed a call to explain the new charges. That would of been the proper thing to do in this situation.

Ive lived here for 3 years now and the new managment is not keeping up with the property. There is a beautiful pool that never gets clean and landscaping is not what it use to be. Apartments are nice but make sure you dont get in a building facing the road. You will hear traffic at all hours of the day and there is a huge problem with ants in building 2. The people below me were having problems with ants and now I am too, and I live upstairs. Orken was sent out but orken doesnt work very well. This place use to be 5 stars but unforanutaly new managment has dropped the ball. On the flip side maintence is wonderful and they come out to fix problems quickly.

I have been living here for 5 years. Everything used to be great but the last several months, things have quickly gone downhill. When u call to get maintenance, they promise you it’ll be fixed on a certain day or they’ll give you a call, but they don’t do either. I.E. My air conditioning unit was broken and after I was assured it would be fixed that day or they would call to let me know, I got home from work and it wasn’t fixed and nobody called to let me know. I finally had to go to the office the next morning and they finally took care of it. Also, the customer service, if you can even call it that, is very bad. I would have to say 3 out of 4 times, when you call up there, you get an unpleasant person that doesn’t know how to treat a customer. It’s a shame because I’ve been living here for 5 years, basically since they’ve opened, and the customer service used to be really good. In the past, maybe before the change in management, everything was fixed in a very timely manner and everyone in the office was extremely courteous.

I moved out last month… I lived there for 4 years. I absolutely loved my place. I moved because my money was funny and my change was strange:) However, the apartments were really maintained, even with the new management. They were great at working with you and making you feel welcome. They returned my calls all of the time. I couldn’t remove some mirrors off of the wall when I left and management told me maintenance could remove them with no problem. How awesome is that!!! Oh yeah… at no charge! I’ve already received the final bill. The place is definitely safe. Maintenance responds with no problem. If I could live there again, I would. I would totally recommend Mustang Park. Trust me, if they weren’t all of that, I would definitely let it be known!

It used to be a nice place until the new owners took over. They pulled the complex website down the day before rent was due, and put notices on doors that said we coundn’t pay by credit card. We have to pay by check or money order, oh’ they were sorry for the inconvenience? WHAT EVER!!! After some prying they agreed to waive the late fees for people who normally paid by credit card. However, they flipped on that and continued to charge lates fees, and told me I should have got in writing. I asked 3 different people on more then 3 occasions, and was assured each time it was taken care of. Bottom line, don’t believe anything they say, make sure you get in writing, the staff is completely untrained, and incompetent. I am moving now, and leaving these idiot’s behind. If I could give them zero stars I would!!!

I agree with Lisette’s review 100%. We moved here last July 2013. Brenna was very helpful too bad that the apartment is now under new management. I asked to change our busted lightbulb and until now no one came to change it and it has been about 3 days. I probably have to buy my own and change it myself. Their website is useless.
Other than that the amenities are great! Good location, very close to main highways, restaurants, churches and Willowbend mall.

I have lived at Mustang Park since April and have been nothing but pleased. Location is great, although it does seem oddly placed upon your first visit. It is right in the middle of 121, George Bush Tollway, Dallas North Tollway, and 35 (they make a square). It’s on the border of Carrollton and West Plano, and although it is technically Carrollton, I still find myself in Plano 95% of the time. I venture into Carrollton mostly for the liqueur stores (although Plano is now «wet») and for the nearby Sprouts grocery store. Price is great — the market rent is much higher but I believe the lower prices are due to the amount of land surrounding the apartment for the time being. The week I moved in construction began in the neighboring land on the East side but the sound wasn’t bad. It was during business hours and people are at work then. I do see that increasing the market value in the upcoming year.
Everything about the apartments is lovely as well. Modern, up to date, spacious… For reference, I live in the smallest floor plan option for the 2 bedrooms and still have plenty of empty cabinets in the kitchen (with well-​stocked kitchen appliances to boot). The thermostat is also programmable to 4 settings per day, which can be different 7 days a week if needed. Easy to use instructions are supplied at the front office.
The amenities are also great. There is a club house with computers (although no wifi), well supplied gym with weights, and a lovely pool with multiple sections and a patio grill for the residents. There is not a hot tub, but with this being in Texas, one isn’t too necessary. The only thing on my materialistic wish list for an apartment that this place did not have.
The only reason this place has not gotten 5 stars is due to the staff. When I first moved in the staff was AMAZING. Brenna kept this place alive. If you needed anything, she could always help, along with the others. Recently Mustang Park has gone onto new ownership and I have only heard complaints from fellow residents. When I visit the office, it’s no longer bright smiles willing to help. You may as well be at Walmart… That’s a little harsh, but compared to the previous employees, it feels that way. The website is also «gone» since it is under new ownership, and I have yet to locate the new one. I never visited there often, especially since one cannot pay rent online (only by check), but to place work repairs, one needs the online website. So I need to visit the office to get something fixed, but that is taking too long to receive action (whereas before it was that day).
I am hoping to renew in December (they provide 8 – 14 month leases, same price for all options) but with this new management and ownership, I am curious as to how the lease will be changing and if 8 month leases will still be permitted. If all is the same as it was from the previous owners (Lincoln Property Apartments) I do intend to renew 100%.

I have noticed the last review for Mustang Park was about a year ago and they made comments about the wonderful staff. Let me just say… The management/​staff has changed over the last 6 months while I was living here. And it is not for the better. I am glad my lease ended and I have finally moved out. The management team really makes everything more difficult. The community and apartments are beautiful, but when the team never answers the phone and DOESN’T return phone calls, it sure does leave a bad taste in my mouth. Anytime I visited the office, the employees were not friendly and didn’t seem as if they enjoyed their job. They don’t make you feel like family (like my previous apts) and they act as if you are just any other customer. Once we moved out, I left 5 voicemails over the span of one week requesting for them to call me back regarding the status of the last utility bill. They never returned my phone call, I had to physically drive to the office from my new home just to get the final bill. I really wish I had more nice things to say within this review (since the apartments are so beautiful) but, I honestly don’t. Their major selling point is the build quality of the apartments, pool, and location. I wouldn’t live here again until the management team did a complete turn around. The 2 stars are for how beautiful the property really is!

We moved in about 3 weeks ago and are really liking it. It’s close to everything and there’s a nice pond and fountain outside our window. Our washing machine got damaged in the move and the only thing I wish they had on property is a laundry facility so we don’t have to keep driving to the laundromat until our machine is repaired.
The people are friendly and the property is pretty and well cared for. I’d recommend it to friends. The maple cabinetry is pretty and the ceramic tile in the bathrooms is really nice. We love having an attached garage — so convenient.
The fitness room is pretty big and they have plenty of machines and free weights, I just wish it was cleaned a little more often. It’s not bad but could use a little TLC.

I’ve lived here for a year now and I love it. Quiet neighborhood, nice mix of people and wonderful staff.

We are moving in next week and had a wonderful experience here! We ended up switching apts and the girls were very helpful and made it so easy for us! I recommend that you check them out! A very nice and quiet place to live, but not very far from everything. Tell them that Sara Bridges sent you!
