Residences at the Collection

Went in yesterday and wasn’t properly greeted at all. I even overheard the two leasing agents quietly discussing who was going to «take» me. The girl sitting to the left with the European accent (she never even introduced herself) didn’t get up from her desk, shake my hand, make eye contact or even ask for my name. Very unprofessional! I was interested in the townhouses but she quickly let me know they didn’t have any to show and simply told me to come back in June. It was obvious she was just trying to shuffle me out the door.
When I finally asked if they had anything else to show, just to get an idea of the finishes, she just took me straight to the unit. I actually had to ask if I could see the pool and other amenities once we returned to the office.
This community was well within my budget and I had already narrowed my search to this neighborhood, so I honestly could have been a pretty easy sell, but my initial experience was such a turn off that this place was quickly crossed off my list.

I am a current resident at the Collection. At the end of 2015 the office manger was accused of stealing money. However, after contacting the leasing office I was told that everything would be taken care of. Every time I visit the leasing office it’s a different story. The leasing office refuse to give the number to the cooperate office. It is to my understand that after speaking with other residents here that they are trying to hide the conflict. This is by far the worse experience I’ve ever had with an apartment complex. My account has been showing a balance for almost 6 months and I have proof of every payment but there is still nothing done about the situation.

DO NOT MOVE HERE!!! The staff is always changing. They gave my husband and I an attitude when we gave our notice to move out then right after that they put a vacant slot in out mailbox. The parking at this complex is terrible, no where near enough parking for all the residence that live there, it’s like they are forcing you to pay $ 50 a month PER CAR for covered parking. The residence that live here are very loud with no respect of their surroundings and neighbors that live here as well, and do not clean up after their pets. But i do have one positive thing about this complex is the interior is very nice and the maintenance is very sweet and work very hard but, the water has a very strong sulfur/​rotten egg smell. Hope my input and facts about this apartment complex helps.

This apartment’s management was a mess when I moved in a couple years ago. That’s until Maria and Derrick took over. I am VERY pleased with what they have done to this community and I renewed my lease in a heartbeat just yesterday. The apartments are super nice, maintenance team is amazingly fast and precise, and all around experience is awesome.

Chillin like a villain! Work orders could be processed sooner opposed to having to fix the apartment myself. The gym is mediocre and the equipment is old and broken. Other than that, I love it here! Shout out to Jordan and Lisa in the office! They’re pretty stinking awesome!

Like others have mentioned, I would give them a zero if I could as well. We lived there for over two years, and only the first two months could be considered better than absolutely horrid. The management and staff are a total joke and were never accommodating to questions or concerns about our apartment. They would claim to never have packages and after having to look myself on numerous occasions would I find ones that they themselves signed for. The apartment had bugs and carpenter ants, and like others have said was extremely noisy from the lack of parent supervision of children playing in the street, parking lots, and hallways. After we moved out and left the place spotless, we received a call from a Debt company saying we owed them $ 180+ of which we never received a letter, a call, anything from The Residences saying we owed them money. After calling Derek in the office, I was told the total really came to almost $ 350– $ 160 for paint (clearly the walls would need to be painted considering the cheap paint they use and us having lived there so long), $ 25 for the last water bill, and the rest for some pet carpet treatments that they don’t tell you is mandatory when you move out; all this was taken from our $ 200 pet deposit (not taking into account our $ 300 non-​refundable pet fee). I can get over ALL of that– if they would have sent us a bill instead of just sending us to a debt company SIX MONTHS after we moved out. Oh and to make things even better– since they never sent us a bill, we had to pay an extra $ 65 to the collections company to ensure this didn’t hit our credit. Run from this place as fast you possibly can!

I would honestly give them a zero if I could. My fiancé and I moved out here a year back and chose this complex sight unseen as we only had a few days before she was set to start her job.
I’ll headline that I have never written a review but felt this one necessary to save someone from making the decision we made. We had probably 3 – 4 new management companies in our one year there. Each one worse then the next. To be fair the Maintenance staff wasn’t bad but everything else is pretty subpar. This is clearly a place that was put together as quickly as possible and while it looks nice is clearly cheap supplies. If you need to get a hold of them by phone good luck. They never answer and voice messages go unreturned. Towards the end despite having already had renters insurance they started charging us because we wouldn’t change the wording of our existing contract. Expected us to go to our insurance company 10 months into a 1 year contract to get them to rewrite our contract or pay $ 13 a month for double coverage. We went to turn in the keys at the end of our lease and their office was closed during their stated hours of being open. If you like management that doesn’t care about you at all this is the place for you.

I live in hill country in brand new complex. Cheap off gassing cupboards, flooring, very little square footage for an exorbitant price. I was looking at properties to move back to Dallas. The reviews are concurrent with my experiences in their Austin properties. Incompetent staff, no accountability, its a joke. I can’t speak to this complex specifically but the fee baiting is very familiar. Its obvious if people have similar issues hundreds of miles apart. The common denominator is the property management/​builder. Embrey.

Hey flamboyant boy at the front desk that felt the need to have a power trip… real smart to upset one of the tenants family members that is big in the Unilocal/​Ratings community. I’m a licensed real estate agent, and have referred clients to this complex in the past who has yet compensated me on it. I am so displeased with the customer service at this office. They are horrible in all areas from a tenants standpoint along with being an associate in the industry. Never return calls/​emails — faulty fobs for door access — customer service.
There are many other apartment complexes in and surrounding the area that I would suggest over the Collections. I pride in customer service and personable relationships, and clearly from the ratings from fellow Unilocalers, I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND APPLYING HERE. Please message me if you need other suggestions.

We have lived here for 5 months now and really love it. I sent in a request for maintenance and they were there that afternoon. Ad far as bugs every place has bugs outside, have never seen any in our apartment. My only complaint would be the people above us. LOUD KIDS…

Sucks! Is all I got to say! They have a new manger every month, they can’t keep a manger for nothing. A bunch of bugs come in from the garage because there are a bunch of cracks in them. If a light goes out and you call the maintenance they don’t come right away it takes them a least 5 days for them to come fix it. The Management act like they don’t care They put the cheapest/​cheesey carpet, hardwood floors (there not even wood), and counter tops. There are missing dumbbells at the gym, the pool is nasty and gross it may look clean but they have never clean it since the winter time. A kid picked another pooped and it’s just gross. They let any and everybody move in! They are so desperate to have people move in that the put up signs.

RUN AWAY! We made the horrible decision of living here for about a year and a half and here is our experience: front office staff changed over every 2 to 3 months! No consistency at all! Maintenance requests took at least a week to two weeks to fulfill. Trash piles up outside and they don’t enforce their policies about fining people. We are fairly certain they have never changed our air filters considering the amount of dust we have to wipe off the outside all the time! They put cheap laminate down that they didn’t even let the glue dry nor wipe off the excess, so any dirt or dust that tracks in gets stuck to it! Our laminate was warped and we asked them to replace it, when we got the paper work it said water damage!!! We never have gotten a drop of water on their cheap laminate, but we will see if they make us pay for it… They had adjusted our rent amount after our year lease was up and we wrote the amount their front staff TOLD US. Shocker, the amount was wrong! They left a horrible letter on our door and made us pay for a cashier’s check to pay the difference, even though it was their fault! We pay our rent on time if not early EVERY single month! You can ask the same question to each staff member and every answer you get will be different! When you call the office, you get an answering service that says the staff will call you back… Yeah right!!! You have to call back multiple times to ever talk to anyone! WORST apartment ever! Seriously, do not waste your money! If you like to spend a lot of money to get literally nothing in return then this is your place! If not, stay away!

Just wanted to update this review; I’d love to give it zero stars if it was possible. As of Thursday, everyone’s key fob to open the main doors to the complexes has been deactivated. This means nobody can even get into their own apartment anymore unless the main doors to the individual apartment units are propped open. This also means that there is zero security and anybody can enter the complexes. Three days later today, the key fobs still don’t work. Management here doesn’t seem to care at all because it seems to me that if residents cannot get into their apartments, this should be an emergency situation that warrants immediate correction. I’m looking forward to moving out of here in less than a month.

Decided to fill out application and payed the $ 160 fee. After more research and looking at the people and cars in the complex I decided to not move in. The next morning I told them changed my mind. They would not give me $ 160 back. They never ran my application or processed anything. Primitive customer service !!!

Great Place my apartment is BRAND NEW! Super Stoked on the pool and the gym!
Parking is a cinch!

Moved here a year ago and they had new owners. Not a fan, never answering calls, maintenance takes MONTHS (yes took over one month to have them come look at master toilet, and all he did was flush a few times) to help you. Apartments nice though.
